The research is motivated by the high levels of contamination and lack of efficiency, especially due to the exponentially increasing vehicle fleet in Ecuador, the proposal is to modify several components and characteristics of the cylinder head such as the combustion chamber, the valve mechanism system, the intake and exhaust system of the spark-ignition engine, which will result in changes to the power of the engine and thus the vehicle and this was measured in the chassis dynamometer since this result can be obtained directly through the vehicle. With the present research you can achieve a bulwark of machining in the elements of the engine where the calculated theory is reflected in practice and in the chip starting that will be given to the cylinder head linking fuel consumption and compression ratio, the engines look good or bad according to the power sought experimentally. In conclusion, from the measurements made, in general there is an increase in the power performance of 30.08% with the modifications and specifically at the maximum power at 4400 rpm, measured in the chassis dynamometer, which were the result of the modifications of the cylinder head of the engine with respect to the standard cylinder head of the vehicle's engine.

In previous studies on drilling robots for lunar exploration, it has been challenging for robots to create adequately sized boreholes and achieve significant depth during drilling. In this study, we are endeavoring to develop a lunar drilling robot named "LEAVO," designed in a worm-like configuration, with the purpose of drilling holes to accommodate environmental sensors and to collect samples from targeted layers. LEAVO has successfully excavated vertically to a depth exceeding 938 mm, thereby validating its efficacy for the initial mission objective. Nevertheless, the current propulsion unit of LEAVO lacks the capability to adequately maneuver around or grip onto curved or uneven surfaces. Therefore, this paper proposes a new propulsion mechanism using Braid structure of metal plate to realize curved surface excavation for the second target mission. In order to verify whether this unit can move while gripping, moving tests were conducted on horizontal, vertical, and tapered pipes. From the experimental results, it is clear that this propulsion mechanism and current-controlled peristaltic motion are useful for various types of pipes.

With rapid technological advances, the autonomous mobile robot market has grown remarkably in recent years. However, these autonomous mobile robots and their services still need to improve in the real world. Among various services, we focused on services that drive in multiple spaces in a multi-story building using an elevator. To operate the elevator, the mobile robot must be able to operate by pressing the elevator button. In particular, in this paper, we proposed a post-processing method using spatial relationships applicable to various elevator button recognition. We define the relationship between buttons, configure them to apply to the results of previous button recognition studies, and show performance improvement through button recognition post-processing in an actual situation.

Significant advancements have been made over the previous decade in the development of plagiarism detection tools and software. This has expanded application beyond identification of plagiarized articles and research papers in academia, safeguarding authors' literary rights across various domains, including digital marketing and libraries. However, the emergence of cross-language plagiarism poses both a significant challenge and a crucial area for further development. This primarily stems from the complexity of different languages, as well as the accuracy and interpretation of automatically translated words and sentences, which can prove more complex than the identification of plagiarism in a monolingual corpus. This position paper addresses the obstacles encountered in cross-language detection of plagiarism relating to Arabic-English and English-Arabic works. It outlines the impact of vowel marks on the semantic meaning of Arabic sentences. The paper also introduces a novel approach utilizing XLM-RoBERTa (XLMR) for enhancing the detection of plagiarism in Arabic text based on semantic similarity, referred to as AraXLM. This approach considers the influence of Arabic diacritical marks during text processing, as these can play a crucial role in improving translation accuracy and the interpretation of sentences. The proposed framework incorporates a cross-language approach utilizing features such as Facebook AI Similarity Search (FAISS), as well as semantic similarity and diacritization, to detect plagiarism in Arabic text at the sentence level of SemEval dataset. This research is ongoing, with the following stage being to evaluate the proposed framework by testing metrics such as Precision, Recall, and F-Measure. We anticipate that the employment of AraXLM for the detection of plagiarism in Arabic will address the challenges associated with, and enhance the effectiveness of, Natural Language Processing (NLP).

The Spherical Fuzzy Green Hub Covering Flow Problem (SFGHCFP) represents a novel multi-layered analytical approach designed to optimize the sustainability and efficiency of hub-based distribution networks. This paper introduces an innovative framework that integrates the principles of spherical fuzzy logic with green logistics, addressing the complexities of strategic decision-making in dynamic and uncertain environments. The methodology encapsulates a series of advanced spherical fuzzy aggregation operators that support multi-period decision-making (MPDM) in supply chain management. By incorporating environmental considerations into the hub location-routing problem, the SFGHCFP seeks to minimize the carbon footprint and ecological impact of logistical operations, while ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to service level agreements. The study proposes a unique hybrid model that evaluates potential hub sites and routes, accounting for varying degrees of membership, hesitation, and truth valuation inherent to fuzzy set theory. Furthermore, the spherical fuzzy parameters are calibrated to assess and prioritize green criteria, facilitating the development of a sustainable hub network design. The effectiveness of the proposed SFGHCFP model is demonstrated through a series of computational experiments that simulate real-world scenarios of goods distribution. The results reveal significant enhancements in both ecological sustainability and operational efficiency, showcasing the potential of the spherical fuzzy-based approach in rendering the logistics of city supply chains more environmentally conscious without forfeiting service quality. The practical implications of this research extend to industries seeking green optimization of their logistics networks, proving that environmentally responsible practices can be integrated effectively in complex multi-period logistical planning.

Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) are specialized hardware accelerators for deep learning developed by Google. This research studies the dynamics of vaccine hesitancy propagation within a developing country context, utilizing Indonesia as a case study and employing agent-based modeling and simulations (ABMs). We explored three distinct scenarios representing various combinations of factors such as vaccine hesitancy beliefs, trust in policy and peers, and socioeconomic capacity. Our results offer significant insights into the interplay of these elements in shaping vaccination attitudes and behaviors. Notably, higher levels of trust in vaccination policies are associated with reduced vaccine hesitancy, underscoring the importance of policy confidence. Additionally, individuals with greater trust in their social circles tend to exhibit lower levels of hesitancy, emphasizing the influence of peer networks. The role of economic capability in vaccine acceptance is found to be moderate. These findings offer pertinent guidance for policymakers and public health practitioners aiming to devise targeted interventions to enhance vaccine acceptance and mitigate preventable diseases, particularly in the context of developing countries such as Indonesia.

Locating odour sources with mobile robots is a difficult task that can be applied to locating the sources of pollutants, concealed explosives or victims in disaster scenarios. The existing approaches for locating odour sources can be divided between those that simply seek to reach the chemical source, and those that use gas dispersion models to estimate its location. One of the most popular source estimation approaches is Infotaxis, which has been shown to have great sensitivity to the parameters of its gas distribution model. In this paper, we compare two evolutionary approaches for automatically selecting the values for these parameters along with a Genetic Programming approach for evolving human-readable source-seeking strategies. The comparisons are carried out in three simulated environments with different chemical plumes and the results show that the parameters that best fit the environment do not always lead to the highest performance. Also, depending on the scenario, the tree-based search strategies are able to perform equivalently to Infotaxis, at a lesser computational cost.
