The problem of forecasting the Air Quality Index (AQI) is crucial for preventing the adverse effects of air pollution on people and improving the environmental situation. This issue is particularly relevant for Bishkek, a city significantly affected by air pollution. This work addresses the task of forecasting AQI as a classification problem and develops a classifier based on an LSTM neural network for its solution. The classification was based on meteorological parameters corresponding to AQI values measured every 3 h, which serve as the input variables for the neural network. Additionally, the daily amount of coal burned at the thermal power plant in Bishkek, a major pollution source, was used as an extra input variable. The developed classifier can predict AQI as one of four possible classes: AQI <= 50 ("Good"), 50 < AQI <= 100 ("Moderate"), 100 < AQI <= 150 ("Unhealthy for sensitive groups"), and AQI > 150 ("Unhealthy", "Very Unhealthy", "Hazardous"). Computational experiments were conducted, varying the depth of AQI forecasting (up to 2 days ahead) and the length of input variable sequences (up to 4 days of data history) due to the inertia of air pollution processes. Incorporating the pollution factor as an additional input increased the accuracy of AQI class prediction to 83%. Further expansion of the observational history will enable the creation of a classifier for predicting AQI classes for AQI > 200. #CSOC1120.

This paper presents an education innovation in industrial automation by combining classical programmable logic controller (PLC) simulation exercises with physical setups. Five new physical setups are introduced in a third year bachelor course. The new teaching method is evaluated using a student feedback survey with closed-ended background questions and questions using a Likert scale. The variety in background knowledge of the students poses an extra challenge in this course. This is shown in the results as a lack of knowledge experienced by the transfer students coming from a professional bachelor program. The overall results show a keen interest in combining the new setups with the classical PLC sessions.

With the advent of technology in this digital era, demand for a more optimized and cost-effective information-storing source/algorithm is increasing in industry. Research is being done in this domain for a long time and different algorithms have been found till now;one of these algorithms/methods is Aruco marker. Aruco marker is a fiducial marker that can store data and act as a reference in a camera-captured image. These references in an image can help in easing/solving problems like image-augmented measurements of objects, perspective transformation of image, pose estimation of objects, etc. This article presents an automated pick and place approach using the pose estimation utility of Aruco markers with the help of a UR5 robotic arm and vacuum gripper. It also demonstrates a simulation scenario that utilized this approach to pick and place product boxes from a moving conveyor belt in a simulated warehouse environment using the Robotic operating system (ROS) framework.

Organizing debate and voting sittings is a critical process for theBrazilian Chamber of Deputies. There are several transparency processes linked to legislative activities and projects, based on long-term strategic guidelines and that facilitate the monitoring of society through news on the web, radio and television. This study applies the ISO ABNT 31000 risk management approach to the live transmission process via the Internet of the Chamber's plenary sessions. The context is provided by the application of Business Process Modeling and Value Chain, and the analysis is performed with the support of ISO 31010, Pareto diagram and FMEA. The study concludes that the application of risk management principles and techniques contributes to more effective governance and supports the institution to strengthen the fulfillment of its mission.

Fraudulent activities in enterprises' supply chain networks can have significant financial impacts on their business. There has been a growing interest in developing automated fraud detection systems and models that can effectively detect fraudulent transactions to address this challenge. This paper proposes a distributed deep learning-based model for financial fraud detection in enterprises' supply chain networks. This model is built using the Horovod distributed deep learning framework running on Cloud Databricks using Apache Spark. The model consists of a deep artificial neural network model which is trained on a distributed dataset. Finally, the model's effectiveness is evaluated using a real-world dataset called "DataCO smart supply chain for Big Data analysis", and the results achieve high accuracy in detecting fraudulent transactions.

Inspection and intervention by drones in rescue operations have growing attention due to multiple causes, including natural and man-related events. Additionally, the rapid advancements in vision sensors, object detection models, and AI-based methods can boost the success of rescue scenarios. Empowering Search and Rescue through affordable and cheaper drone technology is the main motivation. Detecting the missing persons with drones is the key aspect in this context. Drone navigation involves object scale variations creating a computation load for the scene urge high-speed processing. To solve the two issues mentioned above, we propose the APH-YOLOv7t method that follows Holdout method. In this paper, we introduce a new Attention-based Prediction Head for YOLOv7-tiny. We also present the evaluation results of YOLOv7 the state-of-the-art convolutional neural network-based solution, here is used for robust object detection. In this context of drone navigation there is a need to perform detection of persons on land and sea surfaces allowing to reduce disaster, distress, identify and rescue them. Despite the higher success rate of object detection models, vision complexities make detection tasks on drone-captured images more challenging and this area remains under-explored. We used the existing three search and rescue datasets which are images acquired from drones specific to our objective. Results show that our APH-YOLOv7t method was the most robust attention-based YOLO and comprehensive person detection method for our application, demonstrating a consistently high level of performance in comparison to YOLOv7-tiny. Evaluation results on all three datasets are reported. With this solution, and conditional performance, we demonstrate to be able to satisfy our requirements of a mean average precision (mAP50) of over 0.80 for the person class and operational performance with over 125 fps on a single GPU Nvidia RTX2080Ti.

The visual inspection planning of 3D objects consists of the problem of finding suitable viewpoints. While complete visual coverage of the object surface is required, not too many viewpoints should be needed. In this paper a view-planning algorithm for a camera-equipped Mobile Industrial Robot Arm (MIRA) is proposed. The MIRA is mounted on a mobile platform, which can move freely on the ground around the object being inspected. The proposed model-based approach finds the required platform positions and the corresponding viewpoints to obtain a full visual coverage. Random sampling and a potential-field method are used to generate viewpoint and platform position candidates. The viewpoint and platform position planning both are formulated as a Set Covering Problem (SCP) afterwards. The effectiveness of selected algorithms to solve the SCP for this application is compared through a number of computational tests. The overall applicability of the proposed approach is demonstrated in a simulated environment.

Eyesight defects are one of the most difficult human sense failures that happen to a person. It caused struggles in reading, walking, and performing other activities that require vision. This study developed a text-reading camera with the application of a neural network image processing algorithm that will assist the legally blind in reading product labels and codes, receipts, currencies, product package labels, and other objects with text related labels. The proponents employ quantitative research design in gathering data, measurable metrics for evaluation of the developed prototype, and software development life cycle method's principles and characteristics to achieve the goal. The proponents created an actual device that reads texts within the image and transforms them into voice with the utilization of Convolution Neural Network Image Processing Algorithm for image enhancement and quality corrections. The developed device undergoes numerous tests to ensure that the objectives of the study are really attained. The developed device was tested, validated, and evaluated by the respondents whose vision profile consists of partially sighted, normal vision, and legal blindness. Results show that device functional suitability, reliability, and performance efficiency were rated by the respondents with a grand mean equivalent to verbal interpretation of "agree," while usability and portability criterion got the lowest grand mean equivalent to verbal interpretation of "slightly agree" which means that the developed tool is useful and still commendable yet can be concluded that more innovation in the hardware components used and software application developed must be adhered to.

India holds the largest known collection of ancient and medieval manuscripts, but many of these still remain unread and uncatalogued due to the immense amount of time and effort required to transcribe them manually. Automating this process would be highly beneficial, as it would reveal valuable information about our past that is currently hidden within these manuscripts. While these documents are written in various languages and scripts, Sanskrit is the most common. This paper takes a practical approach to explore the feasibility of using machine learning to transcribe these manuscript treasures using publicly available information on current technology. Some work has already been done on European platforms such as Transkribus and eScriptorium to transcribe texts in Sanskrit, Pali/Prakrit, and Tamil. It is possible to build on these efforts to develop a viable system for transcribing Indian manuscripts on a large scale, but this would require a dedicated effort to build and train models that can handle the complexity of these manuscripts with adequate accuracy and speed. While a deep learning model built by a private commercial enterprise in the USA called Nanonets has been found to be the most user-friendly and can provide transcriptions of thirteenth/fourteenth century Sanskrit and Tamil manuscripts without any training or visual enhancement of images, it is not yet adequately accurate and may be more expensive. Regardless of the method chosen, this project will require financial and technical support from government and/or private entities. The Government of India's National Mission for Manuscripts could be the focal point for coordinating this activity, and the effort would likely be well worth it.

The Analog Ensemble (AnEn) method has been used to reconstruct missing data in time series with base on other correlated time series with full data. As the AnEn method benefits from the use of large volumes of data, there is a great interest in improving its efficiency. In this paper, the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) technique is combined with the classical AnEn method and a K-means cluster-based variant, within the context of reconstructing missing meteorological data at a particular station using information from neighboring stations. This combination allows to reduce the dimension of the number of predictor time series, while ensuring better accuracy and higher computational performance than the AnEn methods: it reduces prediction errors by up to 30% and achieves a computational speedup of up to 2x.
