With the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR), emerging technologies have influenced individuals and society. Yet, most of the available literature in South Africa focuses on implementing 4IR in the education sector, namely, colleges and higher education institutions. As a result, little is known about ordinary adults' readiness to embrace 4IR. This study sought to investigate the adults' readiness to embrace 4IR emerging technologies. A designed questionnaire was used to collect data from 103 adults about their technophobia level and willingness to embrace emerging technologies. Collected data, using the questionnaire, was analysed using descriptive statics. The general findings of this study demonstrated that adults had positive attitudes and perceptions regarding emerging technologies. Furthermore, it was discovered that adults were aware of the social influence, usefulness and benefits they could derive from 4IR emerging technologies and were enthusiastic over learning about them. Furthermore, the study suggested how to assist these adults, so they are able to take advantage of 4IR and become part of the future workforce.

In order to teach in German vocational colleges/vocational schools or Austrian vocational schools so called HTL both secondary level II, engineers (usually with a BA degree) need an additional study of vocational pedagogy and technology didactics in addition to the subject study and a professional practice, which should prepare the students for the requirements of everyday school life in the best possible way. In the area of teacher training at the University of Siegen and the Upper Austrian University of Teacher Education, specific concepts and content for the digitization of such courses have been developed and are currently being used in teaching, continuously evaluated and further developed. This paper examines the extent to which the concepts, which were initially developed independently, can be transferred between the universities and what content can be used for teaching.

Universities are an integral player of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Today, almost all universities have startup centers, creative or innovation hubs, co-working spaces, etc. in their structure. A significant part of startups is born in universities and undergo their first testing there. Ukrainian universities train students in wide range of specialities and employ specialists from various fields, which allows to create university startup clinics, including Law Clinic, Business Model Innovation Clinic, Finance Clinic, HR& Culture Clinic, Sales& Marketing Clinic, as well as Soft Skills Clinic and Tech & Digitalization Clinic. The main tasks for each department are disclosed. For the launch of such clinics, a structured algorithm ("action protocol") is proposed in the paper. The goal is to test various projects in their early stages (stages of uncertainty). The lecturer-student-business interaction is outlined. In sum a favourable environment for the creation of innovative projects is generated. The launching of "multi specialised" startup clinics in Ukrainian universities is a vital step for reforming the education system and a practical step towards the introduction of practical-oriented training as well as raising the impact of Ukrainian entrepreneurial ecosystem locally and globally.

Request stop systems are a popular solution in the context of public bus transport. In the case of tram systems, this solution is definitely less popular. The article presents the advantages of this type of solutions and describes the potential threats resulting from the operation of request tram stops. Functioning solutions for request tram stops in Poland were presented. The conducted research included measuring the number of vehicle stops at stops in one of the existing tram transport networks. This study was repeated on selected tram routes in a city where this type of stops do not exist-in Wroclaw. The obtained results indicate that it is reasonable to consider the possibility of implementing this solution.

E-learning systems have undergone a significant transformation in the field of education, providing valuable support to learners and trainers. Among the emerging technologies, recommender systems have proven essential in supporting learners in selecting learning resources that best fit their preferences and requirements. However, learning is not limited to specific times or physical environments, making it necessary to customize resources that reflect learners' contextual backgrounds. To address this challenge, this paper proposes an intelligent recommendation approach that offers highly personalized learning objects using contextual information and the Felder-Silverman Learning Style Model (FSLSM). In order to automatically model the learner, we analyze the learner's interaction traces and sensor log data. By extracting relevant features, we cluster a population of 624 learners enrolled in two agronomy courses at IAV Hassan II, based on their preferred learning style (global or sequential). To achieve the objective of this study, we developed an innovative rule-based classification model. The results of this study outperform all alternative recommendation methods on both quality and accuracy, with a high precision rate of over 96%. This performance reflects the seamless incorporation of current learner contextual factors.

Engineering education faces complex constraints, not only future challenges, such as pandemic situations have to be taken into account, but also the heterogeneous pre-knowledge of students. Thus, the learning objectives should not only focus on complex knowledge or technical respectively problem-solving skills development but also on integrating sustainable aspects and resource efficiency. In context of individual needs of learners, it is also evident to consider gender and diversity aspects. Flexible and hybrid learning paths with hands-on experiences on cyber-physical systems may be appropriate to enable individual competence development. Thus, in this contribution the technical architecture and functional features of cyber-physical systems are analyzed to develop learning scenarios that meet the different requirements.

Competence measurement is an essential moment - both for the determination of actual professional ability and its developmental status as well as for the educational performance of an institution and its didactic implications. In the following, we will show how the COMET model for competence assessment can be used to achieve targeted competence promotion within the framework of a STEM project (STEM - science, technology, engineering and mathematics) at general schools. At the same time, this project can be used to illustrate the action-oriented direction (using elements of project-based learning) in which general schools must work. This, on the one hand, to strengthen the students' interest in science and technology and, on the other hand, to prepare the students for vocational learning at EQF level 6. Promotion of STEM interest can be achieved in particular through the use of the holistic COMET process - in which the criteria of social compatibility and ecological responsibility are included to a special degree. However, it must also be noted that the further training of teachers to become raters, i.e. qualified evaluators according to the COMET concept ("interrater reliability") with the task identification included therein, represents a considerable challenge.
