There is a large number of workers who have suffered an accident at work in most companies is common phalangeal and transfalangeal amputations is the case of the company Dico-Val, where a few years ago a worker suffered an accident where he lost part of the finger specifically the distal phalanx, in this way, obtaining a prosthesis in order to recover the physical capacity of workers becomes imperative;Therefore, the present research of analysis of mechanism alternatives proposes the design of a mechanically driven prosthesis of the distal phalanx of the hand using bibliographic information and analysing different types of prosthesis;comparative analysis of 3D printing materials was performed, a comparative study between design applications and laminators required for the use of 3D printing was performed, different types of prosthesis were analysed focusing on the selection of alternatives of the type of mechanism, which helps the flexion and extension movements, and the type of material for the design parameters. Finally, the results were positive as the computational verification efforts were obtained;concluding that a functional prosthesis was obtained and the selected 3D printing material (PLA) provided sufficient strength for the prosthesis to perform prehension actions.

Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) represents a new concept to manage digital identities, aiming to empower individuals by giving them control over their data. However, the concept is still elusive, and many design patterns coexist without an agreed-upon standard which allows anyone to build identity systems while declaring adherence to SSI. We contribute by formalizing a definition of Self-Sovereign Identity and a corresponding evaluation model of digital identity solutions. We then demonstrate our model value with an in-depth analysis of VIDchain, a business product that promotes Self-Sovereign Identity services in compliance with European regulations. Ultimately, our analysis discusses the quest for a perfect SSI solution and supplies end users with a tool to choose the SSI e-identity solution that best fits their needs.

Breaking down a document or a conversation into multiple contiguous segments based on its semantic structure is an important and challenging problem in NLP, which can assist many downstream tasks. However, current works on topic segmentation often focus on segmentation of structured texts. In this paper, we comprehensively analyze the generalization capabilities of state-of-the-art topic segmentation models on unstructured texts. We find that: (a) Current strategies of pretraining on a large corpus of structured text such as Wiki-727K do not help in transferability to unstructured conversational data. (b) Training from scratch with only a relatively small-sized dataset of the target unstructured domain improves the segmentation results by a significant margin. We stress-test our proposed Topic Segmentation approach by experimenting with multiple loss functions, in order to mitigate effects of imbalance in unstructured conversational datasets. Our empirical evaluation indicates that Focal Loss function is a robust alternative to CrossEntropy and re-weighted Cross-Entropy loss function when segmenting unstructured and semi-structured chats.

Moisture content in many cases determines the consumer properties of different food products. The main task of the study was to analyze robustness for the two types of the transfer function for the capacitive grain moisture meter when working with different types of grain. To check the robustness of the transfer function, we applied dispersion analysis. For both transfer functions we can choose two factors: influence of moisture content, and influence of grain type, which is of a special interest. Besides, the values of repeatability and adequacy dispersions for both of the transfer functions were calculated. The values of the repeatability and adequacy dispersions for the newtransfer function were approximately three times smaller, and F-test values were seven times smaller, proving its' better workability.

Automatic detection and correction of spelling errors rely heavily on a statistical study of the trends of spelling errors in a language. In this research project, the spelling error trends for each expert and non-expert in the Kurdish language are determined and analyzed. The statistical study of the error trends is based on data received in real-time from various sources. Traditional (insertion, deletion, transposition, substitution, word separation errors) and language-specific error patterns are found and studied, including position analysis, word length effects, phonetic errors, initial position error analysis, keyboard effects, etc. This is only to check if the Kurdish text is rendered correctly.

In this era of stringent privacy-related laws, the manual collection of fingerprints is a challenging task. This act as a deterrent for collecting large-scale database which is a prerequisite for implementing deep learning approaches in fingerprint-based applications. So, to overcome these challenges researchers came up with various synthetic fingerprint generation approaches using Generative Adversarial networks (GAN). GANs are deep learning-based generative models which help in generating realistic-looking synthetic data. They help in the generation of fingerprints that are comparative in terms of quality, features and characteristics, with that of manually collected samples. The objective of this paper is to review the existing approaches based on GAN that are used for the synthetic generation of fingerprints. Critical investigation of underlying technological details of various GAN variants for generating synthetic datasets and their comparative analysis aims to assist researchers in the generation of apt data for designing advanced applications. Finally, an appraisal of various performance metrics is presented for the evaluation of the synthetic fingerprint quality to facilitate research.

Applying the Ontology of Microservices Architecture Concepts (OMSAC) as a modelling language calls users to have expertise in ontology engineering. However, ontology practice remains restricted to a limited pool of practitioners, leading to a barrier to widely adopting such a modelling approach. Here, we present x2OMSAC, an ontology population framework that enhances the modelling of microservices architectures using OMSAC. We instantiate our framework by FOD2OMSAC, which limits modellers' manual tasks to data selection, cleaning, and validation of created models, thereby eliminating the need for ontology expertise and, consequently, expanding the potential of OMSAC adopters for modelling microservices architectures.
