Numerous specialists in the integration of new technologies and practices have focused on evaluating digital transformation maturity. To effectively manage and succeed in this transformation, various studies have led to the development of tools for assessing the digital maturity of companies. Consequently, researchers and consultants have created diverse digital maturity models since the concept's inception. These models, akin to other management methods, establish criteria for companies to align with the demands of digital transformation. The primary aim of this paper is to develop a digital maturity model for companies, grounded on an array of digital maturity factors sorted into different evaluation dimensions, including organizational, human, and technological aspects. To achieve this main goal, the paper sets two specific objectives: - Compile an inventory of the assessment factors suggested by existing digital maturity models, - Construct a framework for comparing the digitalmaturity factors across various models.

Agriculture is going through a technological revolution, and efforts to improve operational efficiency are being led by *** work tackles a major issue facing autonomous farming: the accuracy of farm border recognition, which is constrained by current satellite images. We introduce a novel image-based approach for autonomous farming trucks that combines GPS data and onboard cameras. Our technology streamlines the process from image acquisition to boundary detection and geo-referencing, reducing manual work, and delivering more accurate farm boundary detection than traditional satellite methods. Performance evaluations show that our approach is more accurate and efficient than current practices. This study offers up new possibilities for the advancement of autonomous farming technologies and establishes a new standard for precision agriculture.

Delay tolerant networks (DTNs)-sometimes also known as disruption-tolerant networks due to the nature of their communications-provide efficient communication among mobile nodes where continuous connectivity is not guaranteed. Some of the features of the TCP/IP protocols are not completely applicable to DTNs which make it more challenging. When the mobility pattern of the mobile nodes is unknown or unpredictable, it becomes harder to establish communication. This paper discusses various challenging and pressing issues of DTNs. It provides a typical architecture of DTNs, some of the most commonly used routing algorithms, constraint features of DTNs, and major applications of DTNs. Finally, we provide some future research directions for curious researchers.

This research paper investigates the relationship between heat load consumption and meteorological factors such as outdoor temperature, humidity and windspeed since these factors are main drivers for heat production planning. To propose a good heat load forecasting model, it is crucial to understand the interaction between the heat consumption and the meteorological factors. This research paper presents alternative and more robust methods compared to the classical correlation analysis technique. We demonstrated sophisticated approach namely wavelet coherence to identify and understand the relationship between the heat consumption and meteorological factors during the analyzed time window. As a main benefit of a wavelet coherence we can mention that effect of outdoor temperature and humidity is noticeable in diurnal cycle. Also we found that wind speed as a predictor is useful mainly for long term prediction.

The digitalization of rural areas is essential for bridging the socio-economic gap between urban and rural communities. However, the adoption of digital technologies in rural environments faces significant barriers, including limited infrastructure, technical knowledge requirements, and user accessibility challenges. For this reason, middleware platforms aim to enhance digital infrastructure and interoperability in rural areas by providing user-friendly digital services. This paper presents an evaluation of the feedback obtained on the AURORAL middleware for rural areas to understand its effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. By analyzing insights from focus groups and questionnaires with eight pilots, we aim to highlight the real-world challenges and benefits experienced by participants when interacting with the middleware. This feedback is crucial for refining such solutions to meet better the needs of diverse stakeholders, including those providing and accessing services, and ensuring its successful adoption. Moreover, the findings of this study emphasize the importance of user-centered design in overcoming digital barriers, enhancing usability and accessibility, and promoting sustainable development in rural areas, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive digital transformation.

The opportunity to pursue tertiary education has increased in recent years, attributed to the initiatives and efforts made by governments, industry players, and educational institutions to make education more affordable and accessible. Hence, predicting undergraduate academic performance plays a crucial role in higher learning institutions' success. This is because the predicted outcomes could provide valuable insights and benefits such as early intervention and support for students at risk of academic struggles, graduating on time, personalized learning, etc. This study selected two machine learning algorithms, i.e., Light GBM and Random Forest, to predict undergraduate academic success in a higher-learning institution. The preliminary result indicates that Light GBM is the best performer, obtaining the highest accuracy of 79.3% after hyperparameter tuning. The result is marginally better than the recently published works that used identical or highly similar datasets.

Contextual information display is a concept of lowering the cognitive load of a user in a smart factory or learning factory environment. Due to the increasing amount of sensors and their collected data, measures must be taken to prevent overwhelming the human worker and 'update' them to the 'operator 4.0'. In this publication, an online user study was conducted to find a preferable method of transitioning between contexts if a change of spatial location was detected. The participants (n = 36, age = 22-55) took part in an immersive experiment in which four transition mechanisms (distance indication, timer indication, button activation, manual selection) were presented on a simulated Augmented Reality headset in Virtual Reality. It was found, using the System-Usability-Scale (SUS), that users prefer an highly automatic transition with an indication of the spatial distance toward a change in the displayed information (n = 36, SUS = 76.45, s = 12.08).

Facial expression recognition is important for many domains such as schools Komagal and Yogameena (PTZ-Camera-Based Facial Expression Analysis using Faster R-CNN for Student Engagement Recognition. IEEE Access, 2023), hotels, and surveys. Facial expression recognition is being used for many applications, such as evaluating student understanding of a subject Komagal and Yogameena (PTZ-Camera-Based Facial Expression Analysis using Faster R-CNN for Student Engagement Recognition. IEEE Access, 2023), the health condition of patients in hospitals, customer satisfaction in hotels and restaurants, etc. In this paper, we have designed different convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for the recognition of seven facial expressions. We have achieved 96.35 testing accuracy with CNN having three pairs of convolution and max pooling on the Ryerson Audio-visible Database of Emotional Speech and Music, consisting of seven emotion datasets.

To address enterprise resource planning (ERP) difficulties and enhance supply chain management (SCM), this paper proposes a framework for the integration of machine learning (ML) into ERP systems. We propose practical guidelines and steps to systematically implement ML solutions in the context of ERP through a mixed method that includes questionnaires and interviews with managers and experts in the field. To overcome the challenges encountered by 60 Moroccan companies being questioned about their experiences with ERP implementation especially High costs, system complexity, and staff training as the most common issues, a framework has been designed to help consultants, managers, ERP integrators, and employees successfully implement and derive maximum benefit from ERP in the SCM context.

The article discusses the issue of sustainable transport in cities, supported by Smart City tools. The authors present an overview of tools influencing the functioning of transport systems in a city, such as Intelligent Traffic Management systems (ITMS), Mobility as a Service (MaaS), and Autonomous vehicles, and their role in creating a sustainable transport system. The Smart City tools implemented in Wroclaw's (Poland) transport systems (ITMS and MaaS) were identified and analysed. Then, based on the described solutions, elements that could improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Wroc aw's transport systems were identified and recommendations were stated. Since Wroclaw uses ITMS and MaaS, the recommendations concern the development of these technologies and the introduction of AV into public transport in the city.
