Agriculture represents an important pillar in the global economy. It plays a preponderant role in social life. Africa alone represents 30% of the earth's arable land, or 30 million km2 of usable agricultural land. This sector employs more than 65% of the active Senegalese population. However, inappropriate weather or climate change have a deep effect on agricultural production or crop yields. Consequently, the conformance of precision agriculture requires effective decisions by stakeholders in the agricultural field. This can be achieved through an innovative recommender system. A recommender system filters data using different algorithms and suggests the most relevant items to users in a particular domain using relevant entities. To address the above issue, we propose a recommender system for farmers in Senegal called SENAgriPreci which enables users to make good and precise agricultural decisions using various parameters (Example: pH, crop type, soil type, temperature etc.). Using relevant datasets, namely: SAED and CRNA, we conducted benchmarking experiments to validate our proposed SENAgriPreci recommendation methodology. Experimental results in terms of Root Mean Square Error (RSME) validates that of our proposed recommendation method is more favorable and outperforms other related and contemporary recommendation methods in relation to accuracy and precise crop recommendations.

TheERASMUS+ WORK4CE(Cross-domain competences for healthy and safe work in the 21st century) is a European funded educational project, which aims at bringing patterns, methods and competences for the projectized and digitalized future of Industry and society. The Industry 4.0 educational module was developed as part of this project with the purpose of giving students introductory knowledge on the key new technologies that are the core of Industry 4.0 so that they can understand the technological challenges of digital transformation. The paper presents the results of developing a framework for implementing the case method for a multidisciplinary project when studying Industry 4.0 module.

In the context of social network analysis, one of the main challenges concerns community detection. It has attracted the interest and significant attention towards contemporary multidisciplinary research in order to understand the complex structure of networks, unraveling clusters or communities within various interconnected systems. The Louvain algorithm has gained widespread popularity due to its remarkable calculation speed and efficiency, making it one of the most used methods. Although it is celebrated for its efficiency, its greedy nature poses certain challenges, especially in scenarios involving sparsely connected communities. Our study proposes an innovative method that enhances the performance of the Louvain algorithm without increasing its computational complexity. We explore the core applications of this method, seeking to refine and optimize the Louvain algorithm's performance. By addressing its weaknesses, particularly in handling low-connected communities, our research contributes to developing an improved version of this widely used algorithm. This enhancement is poised to broaden the algorithm's applicability and reliability, further cementing its status in the field of community detection within complex networks.

This paper addresses the crucial challenge of optimizing battery management for electric Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), with a specific focus on 18650 lithium-ion (Li-Ion) batteries. Drawing upon extensive knowledge and insights gained from experimental tests and real-world missions, we aim to establish a foundational understanding of their application in UAVs and address inventory issues related to State of Charge (SoC) battery estimation. To enhance our analysis, we delve into the technical specifications of leading Li-Ion cell manufacturers-LG, Samsung, and Panasonic-to extract discharge behavior data, forming our training dataset. Employing the Four Parameter Logistic (4PL) regression model, we then introduce three distinct models, each tailored to one of the three manufacturers' cells, demonstrating their capability to accurately estimate the SoC. To validate our approach, we apply these models to a real-world flight log, achieving satisfactory results.

The utilization of unmanned vehicles for specialized tasks has gained significant attention in both military and civilian domains. This article explores the application of commercial unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for reconnaissance purposes, specifically to verify autonomous driving missions assigned to the developed TAERO manned-unmanned vehicle in field operations. The paper introduces the TAERO vehicle, highlighting its functionality and capabilities for unmanned missions. The architecture of the unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) system is discussed taking into consideration the autonomy subsystem and used location data. The limitations associated with terrain and potential obstacles are addressed as well as importance of acquiring accurate terrain information for successful autonomous operation. The solution proposed in our study involves the use of a commercially available UAV applied to the visual tracking of potential targets in an engagement scenario. Details related to flight route planning system, geolocation, target tracking, and data transmission between robotic platforms are discussed and presented in this work. The acquired real-time data plays a crucial role in confirm- ing the mission, making necessary adjustments, or altering the planned route. The UAV platform, known for its maneuverability and operational capabilities, can operate ahead as a reconnaissance element, improving the overall reconnaissance capabilities of the system. Upon completion of the mission, the UAV can return to the base or land on a moving vehicle platform. The authors proposed integration of a UAV that significantly enhances the autonomous mode capabilities of unmanned ground platform, improving operation in unknown environment during special mission.

In hybrid order-picking systems (OPSs), human workers collaborate alongside autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs) to pick up and transport items in a warehouse. Congestion occurs when multiple humans and AGVs operate in an area simultaneously. Congestion decreases AGV navigation performance and may cause queuing delays at packing stations. In this paper, we study the impact of congestion on the performance of hybrid OPSs. We simulate a hybrid OPS using a discrete-event simulator and evaluate the throughput under different levels of congestion and the number of AGVs. Using 10 AGVs under no congestion, we observe a throughput increase of 105% compared to a manual OPS with zero AGVs. However, this improvement decreases as the effects of congestion become stronger. Under our heaviest congestion model, there was only a 3% throughput increase for 10 AGVs. We also analyse the economic impact of adding AGVs to a hybrid OPS. Under medium congestion, the optimal number of AGVs for maximising long-term profit is 20.

This study aims to clarify the roadmap for adopting an automated risk analysis system for the private supply chain (SC) strategy in the Jordanian Customs Department as an emerging country and to provide a clear and organized scientific approach to effectively control and monitor the transport of goods in transit within Jordanian territory through adopting and using modern technological tools such as the electronic transit trade (TT) tracking system. The electronic form that the Jordanian Customs Department could adopt and implement in its plans. Therefore, through the roadmap proposed in this study, the Jordanian Customs Department applied and used risk management by identifying and using appropriate selective criteria pre-determined on the system on a non-discriminatory basis to control the classification and sorting of incoming or outgoing shipments according to their danger, sensitivity or customs duties. Due, to including goods in transit within Jordanian territory. Therefore, in this study, the importance of risk management and analysis emerged as a basis for classifying and sorting various shipments, including goods in transit, and as a guideline for the various border and crossing administrations based on scientific foundations and standards to target high-risk shipments from various sources, while at the same time not neglecting to facilitate the movement of trade that is previously based on Systematic and/or low risk. The qualitative methodology was adopted in this study by conducting several personal semi-structured face-to-face interviews with the participants conducting these interviews with risk managers, information technology managers, communications and network managers, freight drivers for goods in transit, and commercial partners of the Jordanian Customs Department. Concepts underlying the so-called Industry 4.0 are an opportunity to develop strategies based on the merging of the physical, digital, and biological worlds, enabled by new technologies. This work reports the design proposal for an upside body wear involving industry workers to capture body signs, including real-time postural assessment, that could indicate risk for musculoskeletal disorders. Discover, Research, Engage, Approve, Make methodology allows us to consider factors such as situations, contexts, company employees, and workers (pe, gender, age, or type of task) to have a complete representation of the system. A series of participatory observations were performed in the industrial context which contributed to establishing a deeper relationship between the stakeholders involved around the theme with the analytical portion of the model enabling work in tandem with industrial partners. From participatory observation and worker feedback, the team developed a soft wearable to monitor the body conditions to prevent work-related injuries, instead of an exoskeleton to enhance the body. Nevertheless, the design team started to create concepts of soft wearables, always paying attention to the limitation of the components being used by the upper body device, designing where the circuits would be located around the body, resorting to a life-sized dummy as a model, and testing its arm movements. Future developments include the integration of several partial prototypes that will generate a final device that will integrate all the functions.

This study addresses the critical need to enhance patient's experience with healthcare mobile applications. With the exponential growth of healthcare apps over the past decade, it is imperative to understand the patients' perceptions of what is lacking and how healthcare mobile applications can be improved in terms of design, features, and communication between patients and providers, such as doctors or hospitals. This research was conducted in four phases: gathering insights into User-Interface (UI) and User-Experience, constructing a patient-focused survey, experimenting with various UI designs, and statistically analyzing survey responses about hospital mobile applications. Key findings from 82 responses highlighted the necessity to redesign both hospital app transaction processes and the apps themselves in terms of functionality and UI. Technological innovations like chatbots were underutilized due to the lack of affective computing in developing these features and a reported lack of user awareness. Regarding UI preferences, respondents favored larger text, less bold text, and blue as the primary color. Future developments should include direct communication with doctors and self-check-in features. Addressing these areas can significantly enhance patient satisfaction and engagement with healthcare mobile applications, particularly hospital apps.

Cyber-Physical systems (CPSs) modeling consists to release an executable system model. The modeling process is composed of steps where each step is the refinement of the previous step with more details and the last step is the validation step. The validation of system can be done formally or by simulation. Since CPSs are heterogeneous and combine physics and computations, the formal validation is often difficult to apply and the validation by simulation is the only method to verify the correctness of the modeling process. The simulation of CPSs generates heterogeneous output data. So, the display of heterogeneous output data involves the use specific display components (SDCs) where each SDC can display one and only one type of output data. Indeed, the presence of important number of SDCs makes the design task not easy, because the knowledge of SDCs is indispensable for the simulation, and it prevents the reusability. As solution, we propose in this paper a model of heterogeneous display component (HDC) that allows the designer to use only one component to display different types of output data.
