Power transformers are crucial pieces of equipment in power grids, and the working of transformers directly impacts the safety of the power system. Transformer-increased losses due to core design can increase the transformer's operational cost. With the development of numerical methods and the growth of finite element analysis techniques, tremendous progress has been made in applying the finite element method in the design of the transformer, which provides new ideas for designing and optimizing the transformer design. This paper analyzes the no-load losses of step lap cores based on finite element analysis and summarizes the impact of flux density distribution on single-sheet step lap joints (SSSL), double-sheet step lap joints (DSSL), and triple-sheet step lap joints (TSSL). Three different step lap joints of power transformers are examined at different magnetic flux densities and give guidelines to select the optimal step joints to achieve low losses and cost-effective design.

Artificial intelligence has been applied to address a wide scope of environmental sustainability topics such as biodiversity, energy, transportation, and water management. Actions need to be monitored as soon as feasible in the benefits of environmental sustainability. This study is to find out to what extent AI have made participating in these important avenues by conducting systematic literature review. A systematic review uses predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria to identify all eligible scholarly papers, reports and case studies. An overview of the literature exposes the variety of uses of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for environmental sustainability. Recent advances in machine learning have made it considerably easier to predict environmental services that the global community benefits from as a result of developments in biodiversity research. Additionally, there is a trend that more and more AI Apps and Machine Learning models are being used, especially for predicting and optimizing the conservation of water resources. Nowadays the energy business has a lot of focuses in neural networks, expert systems, fuzzy logic model, and pattern recognition. Further, this industry has come to acknowledge the need for computer vision applications and decision support systems.

In recent decades, EMG (Electromyogram) pattern recognition systems focus primarily on feature engineering techniques. Recently, feature learning has demonstrated better recognition accuracy in many research fields than the well-established hand-crafted features. The proposed research work demonstrates designing an EMG pattern recognition system for characterizing slow and fast muscle activities of 40 healthy subjects and monitoring their muscle functions. The analysis used a network of Bidirectional long-short-term memory (Bi-LSTM) with five layers. Feature Learning using Bi-LSTM is performed to monitor muscle activities during continuous forearm extension 5 times with slow and fast movements, using a medium-sized dataset extracted from 40 healthy male subjects. Simulation experiments were conducted with and without cross-validation, which reported an accuracy of 92.86% and 93.75%, respectively, suggesting that the proposed model can be developed as a generalised model for EMG analysis.

Recently, job rotation scheduling models have received an increasing attention because of their ability to find optimal solutions and minimize the risk of development of different occupational diseases in manufacturing environments. Hand-arm vibration (HAV) is one of the major ergonomic risks that leads to serious health problems or injuries in the neurological and musculoskeletal systems of the hand-arm part of the body. In this work, A model based on mixed integer linear programming (MILP) has been created to enhance the ergonomic aspects of the manufacturing environment. The objective of the model is to minimize the daily vibration exposure for all employees when allocating the tasks. The developed model has been implemented and solved in the solver GAMS using real-world data gathered from a metal manufacturing facility. All HAV exposure values were kept under legal limit (5 m/s(2)). The highest HAV exposure value was 4.45 m/s(2) and the lowest was 2.39 m/s(2) during the scheduling plan.

Cloud has become a common infrastructure for IT systems and has been adopted for many mission-critical systems. IoT applications usually provide IoT services with data collected from physical sensors and control commands to physical actuators such as Cyber-Physical systems. When IoT applications run on Cloud, the integrated systems management for Cloud and IoT is required to manage physical sensors and actuators with ordinary cloud resources such as CPU, memory, storage, and network. It can provide the same level of services as ordinary cloud resources. This paper proposes an innovative cloud architecture called Logical IoT Cloud (LIC) that provides integrated systems management for Cloud and IoT resources. LIC also enables Logical Sensors (LSs) with multiple virtual sensors and Logical Actuators (LAs) with numerous virtual actuators. Those LSs and LAs can perform the same functions as physical sensors and actuators running on cloud-native environments. They can support mission-critical IoT applications on LIC. As a result, IoT applications for mission-critical usages on LIC can collect sensor data via LSs and send physical actuators a set of execution commands via LAs.

The system of precise viticulture is the basis for the improvement of conventional intensive viticulture production, while achieving yields of high quality and minimizing costs. Detection of vines in the vineyard is one of the key issues that can be solved with new technologies. Although the detection and the location of individual vine stems is of fundamental importance, there are no methods that can make this fully automatic. Various events such as diseases or mechanical damage led to the disappearance of plants over the years and the reduction of the initial number of vine stems per hectare. In order to accurately estimate the yield of the vineyard, it is necessary to identify and count the actual number of vines in order to estimate the yield based on them. A conventional method of such visual counting would be extremely time-consuming. This research aims to propose an automated model that can detect and locate living vine stems, using UAV imagery and artificial intelligence methods. The proposed model showed a high accuracy in the detection of vine stems. The advantage of the proposed model for the detection and identification of vines is that the results are obtained quite quickly and not much data is required (only RGB + NIR image of the vineyard from two periods without and with vegetation).

I's proposed the approach of computer game control of human movements in sport computer games in order to increase the level of physical activity of stu-dents in online classes, which takes into account the initial knowledge of the spe-cialized disciplines of the curriculum. The approach is based on an open-access repository of computer programs created in the Scratch-based block language (47 games for 28 summer sports, 16 games for 10 winter sports), Scratch programs for human motion recognition based on the PoseNet neural network, which allow changing the principle of controlling game characters through the keyboard and mouse. The approach uses static gestures - unchanging position of the human body with fixed relationships of its various parts to each other, dynamic gesture - sequential transition in time between two static gestures and Scratch-block descriptions of recognition of gestures.

The localisation of the bug position in a source code and the prediction of which specific parts of a source code might be the cause of defects play an important role in maintaining software quality. Both approaches are based on applying information retrieval techniques and machine learning or deep learning methods. The prerequisite for using these approaches is the availability of a consistent bug dataset of sufficient size. This paper presents an overview of available public bug datasets and analyses their specific application areas. The paper also suggests possible future research directions in this field.

This study explores the application of anomaly detection (AD) methods in imbalanced learning tasks, focusing on fraud detection using real online credit card payment data. We assess the performance of several recent AD methods and compare their effectiveness against standard supervised learning methods. Offering evidence of distribution shift within our dataset, we analyze its impact on the tested models' performances. Our findings reveal that LightGBM exhibits significantly superior performance across all evaluated metrics but suffers more from distribution shifts than AD methods. Furthermore, our investigation reveals that LightGBM also captures the majority of frauds detected by AD methods. This observation challenges the potential benefits of ensemble methods to combine supervised, and AD approaches to enhance performance. In summary, this research provides practical insights into the utility of these techniques in real-world scenarios, showing LightGBM's superiority in fraud detection while highlighting challenges related to distribution shifts.

Cycle time optimization is a fundamental skill for manufacturing planners to avoid bottlenecks and thus increase throughput of production. A learning factory, which replicates real-world manufacturing scenarios, provides an ideal environment for students to acquire this essential skill. Traditionally, cycle times in these scenarios have been manually recorded using stopwatches. This practice has become increasingly outdated with the proliferation of Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things systems that automatically take these measurements in industries, which the learning factories are designed to emulate. However, the high costs and implementation efforts associated with these systems can pose significant challenges for learning factories to adapt. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a cost-effective system for automatic cycle time measurements in learning factories. The system is composed of inexpensive and commercially available hardware such as microcontroller development boards, Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) readers and a custom software based on open-source software that is free to use. It enables fast and economical retrofitting of existing production scenarios by equipping production stations with RFID readers and product trays with RFID tags. The solution not only enhances the realism of learning factories in terms of cycle time measurements but also introduces the students to key Industry 4.0 concepts like automation, digitalization, and real-time data tracking. By integrating this affordable system, learning factories can better align their practices with industry standards, thereby improving the training quality and preparing students more effectively for the future manufacturing environment.
