This study presents a novel metasampling scheme for Approximate Bayesian Computation (ABC) that leverages a metasampling algorithm based on a straightforward Hilbert representation of an isolation kernel constructed from Voronoi diagrams. The mapping to Hilbert space utilized identification of Voronoi sites to evaluate the similarity between observation and generated points, and the metasampling algorithm selects the points to maximize similarity to observation one in Hilbert space. To evaluate performance, a method competition was conducted using a high-dimensional stochastic Gaussian model with sparse data in the region of interest, and compared to several state-of-the-art methods including K2-ABC with Gaussian, Laplacian and isolation kernels, adaptive sequential Monte Carlo, and Markov chain Monte Carlo. Our method has demonstrated superiority over existing methods, as shown on a 6-dimensional model where, after 4000 simulations, the mean square error of our approach outperformed adaptive sequential Monte Carlo by two orders of magnitude and K2-ABC by four orders of magnitude. However, it should be noted that the metasampling method requires significantly more computational time per simulation step compared to kernel-based methods. The results obtained show the high accuracy of our proposed method, especially in scenarios with non-uniformly distributed datasets and models of this kind, indicating that it can be applied in genetic data analysis, which is a challenging area for future research. In the context of the current study, we applied the method to one example of a branching process model simulating personalized cancer cell evolution, where the posterior distribution of the personalized genetic parameters is located around the observation, contrasting with the kernel approach.

This study compares the effectiveness of Team Formation Problem (TFP) implementation in welfare activities using four metaheuristic optimization algorithms: Jaya (JA), Sine-Cosine (SCA), Firefly (FFA), and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). TFP often involves a large search space with numerous variables and constraints. These metaheuristic algorithms are efficiently exploring the search space and converge to promising solutions quickly. The purpose of this paper is to determine which algorithm performs best in assembling effective volunteer teams, taking into account factors such as skills, availability, and preferences. The study uses simulations to evaluate the algorithms' convergence speed, solution quality, and robustness. The experimental results showthat SCA and PSO perform well in team formation, with SCA outperforming PSO and completing tasks faster. However, algorithm effectiveness may vary depending to the number of volunteer skills required.

Designing a sustainable tourism travel trip is based on evaluation and handling different types of information. Many times, available data can be characterized as imperfect. In many cases, decision criteria for sustainable tourism travel trip designing are assessed using linguistic terms, which also have a certain degree of reliability. To operate with a high level of uncertainties, it is suggested to use an approach based on Z-information. Z-numbers allow the categorization of destinations, weighting the preferences, and selecting destinations that score high in sustainability and cultural richness. Using a Z-number-based approach for such multi-stage processes as sustainable tourism travel trip design that includes goal definitions, gathering data, itinerary design, continuous adjustment, and post-trip analysis allows one to rely on personal experiences and feedback from locals or fellow travelers. This feedback can be used to refine future travel plans, further applying Z-numbers to interpret and act on this inherently subjective information. Fuzzy data is integral at every stage, from understanding preferences and evaluating destinations to making decisions about activities and adjusting plans. The application of Z-information allows for a more nuanced and adaptable approach to travel planning, especially in the context of sustainability and cultural experiences where data is often subjective and variable. The modeling and handling of Z-information are implemented in Z-lab software.

Currently, the different technological advances and developments have allowed the generation of new computing paradigms, one of these being pervasive systems. This type of systems has been used to generate pervasive game experiences, to which new devices have been incorporated in the contexts of game-based systems (GBS). These advances have allowed the emergence of new enriched experiences through the integration of the virtual and real worlds within the game world. Although these new paradigms offer different benefits, they also generate new challenges for their design, being more complex when they are intended to be used in specific populations such as the elderly, which is one of the main objectives of this research work. These experiences can be oriented in different ways, some of them being entertainment, leisure, learning or obtaining benefits. In order to achieve such pervasive experiences, the existing technological gap and the consequences of human aging, such as physical and cognitive abilities and the impact on their emotional level, must be considered. For this reason, this article identifies the different aspects that should be considered for the design of pervasive GBS in order to adjust to the particularities of this population.

Recommender systems allow users to filter relevant information, helping users discover content and products that fit their preferences and interests. Collaborative filtering is one of the most widely used approaches in recommender systems, which uses historical user data for the recommendation. Nowadays, researchers are exploring new ways to make recommendations, using deep network architectures that have a major impact on some areas. This paper explores collaborative filtering recommendation systems based on deep learning, focusing on the experimental evaluation of algorithms most used in these systems. In our experimental study, we evaluate the performance of Autoencoder and Neural Collaborative Filtering models on representative datasets. As the main result, we found that the Autoencoder model outperformed Neural Collaborative Filtering in terms of prediction, suggesting its usefulness by providing more precise recommendations for users.

Indian food is one of the most popular cuisines in the world and comprises uniquely flavored preparations using traditional recipes and spices. Across India's 28 states, 135 billion population, and hundreds of years of the cultural heritage of our Country has resulted in a huge number of sub-cuisines and a vast number of unique dishes. In this paper, a system for detecting the calorie count of Indian food by detecting food items in images using You Only Look Once (YOLO) algorithm is presented. The calorie count of food items is an important parameter that needs to be considered while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. However, manually counting calories can be a tedious and time-consuming task. The proposed system uses deep learning to automatically detect the food items in an image and estimate their calorie count. This system can be used to create a calorie-counting app that can help individuals maintain a healthy diet.

Storage of sensitive data in the cloud invokes questions on cyber-security and safety. A couple of techniques have been adopted dwelling on a hybrid cryptography approach where a combination of the "State of the Art" algorithms, for example, AES, DES, RCS6, etc. are used. Most of the cryptography schemes off-late use a blend of symmetric and asymmetric key methods. Key information can also be hidden using steganographic techniques. In this paper, we address the weaknesses of the traditional methods and propose a new technique for securing storage data by dynamically synthesizing digital twins employing a dynamic colour mapping algorithm.

This article presents the innovative electromechanical design and analysis of a solar-powered robotic assistive system for reaching and grasping assistance of weak and disabled people. The design consisted of an innovative gripping mechanism at the top (upper end) of the assistive device. The bottom (lower end) of the device consisted of a haptic knob (potentiometer), a solar panel, and the Arduino-based control board. The opening and closing of the gripper were actuated by a servomotor, which was controlled by the user via the potentiometer. The device was lightweight to make it user-friendly and ergonomic. It was designed to be solar-powered to make it usable in remote areas lacking electricity as well as to make it cost-effective. The device was sufficiently long but lightweight so it would be feasible to grasp objects from a comparatively distant location. The design was analyzed for its static characteristics in a simulation study based on a CAD model. Then, a proof-of-concept prototype was built and experimentally tested. The simulation results showed satisfactory static characteristics in terms of stress and strain tolerances of the design for normal load maneuvering. The experimental test results proved the effectiveness of the functionality of the novel gripping mechanism actuated by the servomotor and controlled haptically via the potentiometer as well as the suitability and user-friendliness of the device for its intended application. The design was innovative, and the preliminary results were very promising. The proposed assistive device can be very useful to augment the performance of weak and disabled people in reaching and grasping numerous household objects in their daily activities, and thus reduce their burdens and improve their quality of life (QoL).
