Applications of data-based modeling tools in medical diagnosis are one of the most promising trends in the healthcare field, which has been expedited by the increasingly common usage of various measuring devices and monitoring systems. This paper addresses one such application, namely the classification of gait patterns in cerebral palsy patients, using various kinetic and kinematic measurements describing the walking patterns. In order to address the data fusion challenge resultant from the multi-sensor environment, while also meeting the desirable explainability properties of medical models, this paper proposes a multi-view ensemble approach based on multiple fuzzy rule based classifiers, each one assigned to a single sensor and its measurements. The proposed approach is tested on four different problems with different gait pattern anomalies, using data from real subjects obtained using state-of-art biomechanical methods and standard clinical procedures.

Virtual reality is one of the latest trends in education that makes it possible to simulate a variety of practical situations. Practicing job-interview skills through virtual reality brings the corporate environment closer to reality. Collaboration between a technology company and the school was key in setting up the scenario for the interactive interview training, which was implemented in the software. The aim of this paper is to describe the positive and negative effects of using virtual reality in the practical part of students' preparation for their future careers. The paper presents an evaluation of a pilot use of a virtual-reality course for undergraduate career-counseling students at a public university. The paper also evaluates the content and the chosen methodology for further possible use of virtual reality in teaching at the university. While modern technology and virtual reality is suitable for educational purposes, many variables have to be taken into account: educational goals, financial, time and technical capabilities of the school and the corporate partner, previous number of students, students' experience with virtual reality, students' previous experience with the rehearsed scenario, etc. However, the study also showed that the technology still has some limitations. Nevertheless, our pilot study has shown that linking learning to virtual reality is appropriate, possible, and feasible.

When students interact with robots, they engage in semiotic processes. We ask: what are these, how do they work, and how do students learn from them? We begin with definitions linking pupils, robots and learning. Then we explain basic semiotic ideas introducing the Continental approach started by Ferdinand de Saussure and the American methods of Charles Sanders Peirce. By analysing six successful lessons from this new viewpoint, we find the value of robots beyond coding. We believe the semiotic approach could enrich the sample lessons, help teachers assess students' work and hint at ways to improve robot designs.

The primary purpose of this quantitative prospective causal-comparative study was to determine if and to what extent there is a difference in the overall work engagement of instructional designers who are either working predominantly at home or predominantly in the office in the United States, and the secondary purpose of this study was to examine the moderating effect of psychological capital on the predictive relationship between work environment and work engagement. The theoretical foundations were work engagement and psychological capital. Based on a sample size of 345, the results illustrate that the work engagement scores for those who work predominantly in the office (mean rank = 221.89) were statistically significantly higher than those who work predominantly at home (mean rank = 122.67, U = 23,431.50, z = 9.25, p < .001) but did not indicate that the interaction effect between types of work environment and psychological capital on work engagement was statistically significant. (B = -0.04, se[HC3] = 0.07, p = 0.58). The results extend research on work engagement by providing evidence that there is a statistically significant difference in mean ranks of work engagement scores between those who worked predominantly at home and those who worked predominantly in the office.

Innovative Makerspaces and Fablabs are revolutionizing higher education by providing students with hands-on experiences and developing their entrepreneurial spirit. These spaces offer an environment for students to develop essential soft skills such as creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. Equipped with cutting-edge tools and resources, Makerspaces and Fablabs enable individuals to prototype and create physical products. They also provide students with a platform to explore their creativity, acquire new skills, and work on innovative projects. The integration of makerspaces and Fablabs in higher educational institutions has a significant impact on student engagement and motivation. In light of these benefits, this research aimed to explore the best practices of European Makerspaces and Fablabs by utilizing a literature review, fact sheets, and interviews with the goal of establishing female Makerspaces in Ethiopia and Djibouti. The best practice concept for the educational ecosystem is a directive that is based on evidence and focuses on quality solutions to identified problems/needs for a specific target group. The primary objective of these makerspaces is to offer resources and support for female lecturers, researchers, and students in both Ethiopia and Djibouti. The paper's recommendations are intended for the Ethiopian-Djibouti Females at Makerspace (EtD-FaM) project partners, as well as universities.

Educational robotics is rooted in Constructionism and allows learners to investigate and discover new concepts. It would appear that learning a programming language while programming a robot is more motivating and productive than conventional methods. El Greco platform is an educational platform built to teach Python. Users can control El Greco from any computer connected to the Internet due to the platform's web-based interface. El Greco is a social humanoid robot built to be affordable and appropriate for use in education. Potential users can use Python direct code entry or the Blockly library to control El Greco. The Blockly library embeds an editor in an application to represent coding notions like interlocking blocks. Unique functions that control El Greco were created. The inserted code can be executed on the website or by the Robot. The user can view the result of code execution through a live-streaming window. The El Greco platform has been designed with students in mind but is available to anyone at no cost.

We consider the marginal problem in Dempster-Shafer theory, investigating the structure of a suitable set of bivariate joint belief functions having fixed marginals, by relying on copula theory. Next, we formulate two Kantorovich-like optimal transport problems, either seeking to minimize the Choquet integral of a given cost function with respect to the reference set of joint belief functions or its dual functional. We finally give a noticeable application by choosing a metric as cost function: this permits to define pessimistic and optimistic Choquet-Wasserstein pseudo-distances, that can be used to compare belief functions on the same space.

The article examines the current state tax system's impact on the ability to finance investment costs of the enterprise. In unstable market environment conditions of domestic enterprises' financial management system, the investment activity intensification problem for the purpose of their sustainable development and competitive position strengthening maintenance is actual. The insufficient level of modern enterprises' investment activity is due to limited investment resources. One of the important factors influencing this process is the current taxation system. For businesses, taxes are part of the profits that can be invested in their own development. In these conditions, the objective is to form an investment management system that would provide the company with the opportunity for sustainable development, contribute to the growth of production, increase profitability, increase competitiveness in the market. The scientific work proposes enterprise investment costs financing sources planning model depending on the limit value of the tax burden integrated coefficient. The developed model is an important component of financial management, which determines the level of financial constraints on the opportunities for enterprise development. The comparison of the actual and the limit tax burden integrated coefficient values made it possible to determine the periods in which the enterprise's tax burden did not limit the possibility of borrowing funds to finance investment activities.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning education are entering the classrooms, and yet, the link between their introduction and the development of metacognitive components in students still needs to be addressed. We conducted an experiment with 138 elementary school students (aged 8-11) and tested how the manipulation of a learning robot affected their understanding of the basics of AI, as well as their metacognitive knowledge such as growth mindset, status of error, learning by trial-and-error, and persistence. Results show a positive shift both in students' AI knowledge and learning beliefs, and thus demonstrate the value of teaching the basics of how AI works to develop solid metacognitive knowledge that promotes learning. Future works should measure a lasting effect on students' learning behavior and focus on teacher training in new AI activities.

This paper introduces a newly developed compact CAN bus training system, to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in engineering education. The system incorporates a real BMW e46 instrument cluster into a tabletop training device, facilitating direct interaction with CAN bus technology. Through a two-phase development process involving literature review and practical adaptation, the system was designed to enhance student engagement and understanding by providing hands-on experience with traditional software like Vector CANoe. Preliminary classroom evaluations indicate a marked improvement in students' comprehension and interest. This approach demonstrates that real-world applications can significantly enhance learning outcomes compared to simulations. Future research will explore the long-term effects of this hands-on educational method on knowledge retention.
