People around the globe struggle with health issues requiring regular medication. Children, in particular, suffer more and more from chronic illnesses. In 2024, a team of six EPS@ISEP students chose to design a solution for this problem, followed by the assembly and testing of the corresponding proof-of-concept prototype. The aim was to design a solution for children to take the right medication, at the right time and in the right dose, in a pleasant and engaging way, based on technical, ethical, sustainability and market analyses. Focusing on children between the ages of 8 and 12, the team decided to incorporate a motivational system based on rewards to ensure that they take their medication correctly. The outcome is billy, a pill dispenser controlled via an app which allows carers to plan doses and release rewards, and children to autonomously take their medication. The system dispenses up to 21 doses of medication to the child through fingerprint authentication, and photographs the child taking the medication to reassure carers.

Learning how to predict effort is important for any project team. In agile teams, Planning Poker is one of the most popular estimation game-based techniques used to come to a consensus about how much work should be done in a given iteration. Usually, the product owner or scrum master facilitates planning poker with their team. This paper presents the application of the humanoid robot NAO as a robotic coach and facilitator of planning poker with university students in two project management courses. The paper describes the design of the planning poker simulation, the programming of the robot, as well as the implementation and evaluation of the application "Planning poker with NAO" in two on-campus pilot studies with 29 university students. The evaluation aimed to investigate students' perceptions of the design of the simulation and its effects on students' understanding of agile estimation. The results show that the design of planning poker facilitated by the NAO robot was helpful for students to understand the concept of relative estimation in agile teams.

This study on the implementation of Estonia's new computing curriculum in lower-secondary schools follows the Design-Based Research (DBR) approach. The research was conducted in three iterative phases, encompassing surveys, analysis of student contributions, and semi-structured interviews with students, teachers, and school coordinators. Our findings revealed that the curriculum enhances both technical and soft skills, although significant challenges persist, including the readiness of teachers and school administration to change their current practices. The results from the second and third iterations of the study are discussed in detail, reflecting on the challenges faced by the real-world applicability of the new curriculum. These insights provide valuable guidance for educators and policymakers aiming to navigate the practical challenges of curriculum adoption.

At the higher vocational engineering education college of Wels an ABB IRB 1600 robot is used to train young engineers in the programming of industrial robots. The process of dismantling the tool head, attaching a new tool and finding its center point has shown to be too time consuming. Therefore, an alternative solution is needed to achieve the smoothest possible tool switch. The chosen idea is to attach five different tools on one mount, even though this part would need to be specially designed to not exceed the weight limit. To achieve the goal of an extremely lightweight structure, topology optimization of the geometry is the chosen design approach. Creation of the physical object is achieved by 3d printing it out of nylon and aluminum.

This paper presents a real-time teacher dashboard optimized to support agile classroom orchestration based on a Kanban board. The implemented prototype allows teachers to prepare and implement lessons and monitor student progress in real-time. Teachers can easily duplicate Kanban boards for multiple groups and identify groups of students who are falling behind or excelling and may need special support. Students can access and use the prepared Kanban boards in a privacy friendly way, raise their hand virtually, and upload their work for review. The prototype was used and evaluated in two case studies. The results indicate that the developed prototype with its features including the dashboard is usable and helpful for preparing, implementing, and reviewing lessons. Implications and future work are discussed.

Medical data stands out as one of the most valuable sources of information in contemporary data mining research. These datasets encapsulate diverse information, from patient records to current situations. Simultaneously, this wealth of information poses a challenge for data mining due to its diversity and the requirement for context to discern which data holds value and what conclusions truly contribute to generating new knowledge. In this work, we leverage a database of medical records from patients' visits to several hospitals across several years, enhancing it with hospital information and a disease ontology. This allows us to identify a medical diagnosis at various levels of semantic depth. Based on this information, we propose information mining centered around extracting association rules at progressive specific levels concerning diagnoses. Subsequently, we present the initial results of this study for different sets of diseases and suggest the most relevant steps for development based on these outcomes.

The relevance of the subject of research is determined by the rapid development of digital technologies, which radically change working conditions and require new skills and competencies from employees. Digitalization of modern society brings both risks and new opportunities that transform the nature of work and the role of a person in the work process. The development of artificial intelligence, automation of processes and the spread of digital tools lead to the changes in the requirements for professional skills and competencies, playing a key role in shaping the modern labor market. The objective of the study is to analyze the impact of digitalization on the process of evolution of employees' competencies and changing needs in the labor market. Both positive and negative consequences of transformation of labor markets in developed countries are considered. General trends in higher education have been determined, the purpose of which is to provide the quality of higher education. Specific skills that are becoming more important in connection with digital development are characterized. Possible ways to improve education programs and training courses to meet the new requirements of the labor market are analyzed. The important role of education in adapting to changes in the labor market and the need to ensure the quality of higher education and prepare students for the requirements of the digital economy by developing specific skills and competencies are highlighted.

The "unfinished learning" resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic has led high school graduates to remain unprepared for college courses in the post-pandemic era. The "unaddressed consequences" of this academic "deficit" can create financial losses both for the individual as well as the economy at large. The impact on the US economy could manifest in the form of slower economic growth and loss of GDP amounting to approximately USD 150 billion by 2040. Personal ramifications could result in a lifetime of accrued income loss for employees and workers. This research considers the application of Universal Design for learning (UDL) combined with technology in a Foundation Math course for helping students bridge the learning gap and successfully complete the course. Technology-driven UDL application can enhance the learning experience by encouraging the development of transferable skills (in preparation for future jobs), provide choices of representation of learning materials to students and provide students with a choice of expression in areas of assessment. Teamwork and presentation with technology based UDL framework can develop a student's lifelong transferable skills for future jobs.

Sports tourism, as a form of tourism, has taken on an increasing role in economic development in recent decades with the globalization of sports. The promotion of a healthy lifestyle, the economic benefits of sport, and health education all justify its pedagogical investigation. The research examines the sports tourism habits of Slovak and Hungarian pre-school teacher students, with particular attention to intercultural differences and similarities. The aim is to reveal the attitudes with which these students participate in sports tourism and the pedagogical significance of the results. The sample consisted of 325 university kindergarten teacher students who provided information about their sports tourism habits using questionnaires. The analysis of the quantitative data made it possible to accurately measure the frequency and attitude of the students' participation in sports tourism. According to the results, preschool teacher students rarely participate in sports tourism, which can be explained by a lack of interest, time and motivation. The pedagogical significance of the results lies in the fact that they draw attention to the importance of sports tourism as an educational tool and encourage teacher training institutions to support their students in active sports activities. The role of sports socialization is particularly important in teacher training, as future teachers must convey the values of sports, especially through sports tourism and sports camps. These experiences not only provide the benefits of physical activity, but also develop social skills, cooperation skills and community spirit. The research contributes to a deeper understanding of the connections between sports tourism and pedagogy and provides valuable information for teacher training institutions to exploit the educational opportunities of sports tourism.

Teachers worldwide are increasingly using digital tools and resources as part of their everyday teaching practices. However, in Ukraine, where the education system has already suffered significant losses due to the post-war period, the challenge of implementing distance learning is even greater. This is particularly true considering the ongoing wartime situation until February 24, 2022. For the second year in a row, a study is being conducted to assess the readiness of schools and teachers to use digital means for learning and to identify any challenges they may be facing in this regard. In 2024, 26,227 teachers and teaching staff from all regions of Ukraine, including some from the occupied territories, were interviewed. It found that teachers continue to actively use digital tools for teaching, and the survey identified the most popular of these tools. The teachers also pointed out the numerous problems they face every day during the organisation of education. Unfortunately, most of these problems are related to the limitation of students' access to full-time education, the loss of school infrastructure and the internal displacement of families. The purpose of this article is to identify teachers' opinions about their readiness to use digital tools, identify issues and challenges related to this, and outline perspectives for helping teachers improve digital competencies. The article outlines a picture of the state of the use of digital tools for learning by Ukrainian teachers during the period of martial law and their need to solve the problems and challenges they faced. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the teachers' needs and can serve for their professional development.
