This article explores the multifaceted role of Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench (LabVIEW) in education, industry, and research. In all areas of learning, teachers strive to improve the educational process. In the field of information and software engineering, activities usually combine theory and practical training. By using various assessment activities during the course, students' motivation can be improved and with proper feedback from the teacher, students can manage their learning process to achieve better results. The research presented in this paper was conducted in the course "Business Process Analysis," which is part of the undergraduate computer science curriculum. The course was designed with two quizzes, two project assignments, and two midterm exams followed by the final exam. The course requires a project-based approach and completion of practical assignments using theory. Our dataset contains outcome data from 93 students who took the course in the 2021/2022 academic year. Our research question was: can we predict students' academic success on the final exam based solely on the activities completed during the semester-i.e., quizzes and project activities as a combination of theoretical and practical knowledge. Logistic Regression, a statistical model commonly used for classification and predictive analysis estimates the probability of an event occurring based on a given data set of independent variables. It is used to predict a binary outcome (0 or 1) based on a set of independent variables. In this paper, we use it to predict whether a student will pass or fail the course, and we use the scores obtained in two quizzes and two project assignments as independent variables. The results have shown that students' success in these activities can predict their overall success, with accuracy of 0.9474. We can conclude that some of the activities used in the course are good indicators of students' final success-i.e., consistent with the final goal of the learning outcomes. As smartphones and social media usage grow among young people, particularly in Arab communities, the risk of encountering cyberbullying and harmful content increases. However, existing cyberbullying detection solutions are primarily tailored for English, leaving Arabic users underserved. This study addresses this gap by developing improved detection models for Arabic content. Through training various classifiers with annotated Arabic datasets, including traditional machine learning and deep learning techniques, this research aims to enhance the effectiveness of cyberbullying detection in Arabic online spaces, collected from three different platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube). Additionally, we conducted domain-specific data extraction from our existing datasets, focusing solely on political discourse. This was followed by testing the extracted data with deep learning algorithms. The results indicate that the proposed model outperforms other classifiers examined in the study. The overall enhancement achieved by the proposed model reaches an accuracy of 89% compared to the best-performing classifier.

The development of digital technology has had a profound influence on fundamental rights, including the freedom to express oneself and the ability to access information. Lawmakers must adapt to digital rights and digital citizenship by creating revised rules and regulations. The internet is crucial for information and communication, contributing to the global economy and promoting citizen participation. However, restricting access to the internet limits human rights, especially information freedom. This study investigates the extent of the Indonesian Government's power to restrict internet access in 2019, with a specific focus on the legal frameworks of both international and domestic law, as well as the implications for human rights and freedom of information. The government has enacted its policy through the implementation of multiple legislative measures, such as the 1945 Constitution, the Law of Human Rights 1999, the Law of Communication 1999, and the Law of Information and Electronic Transaction 2016. The right to freedom of information can be restricted as a derogable right, and the government must meet conditions laid down by Article 19 paragraph (3) of the International Convention on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).

In Education 5.0, students are protagonists rather than passive listeners. Classes are more collaborative, individualized, and focused on developing hard and soft skills. New technologies are used to provide instruction that focuses on the student, not the technology. Digital devices, infrastructure, and platforms remain critical, but they are tools that should support learning. Design thinking is a method and process for finding solutions to complex problems. This publication presents a project funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency as part of the Innovation Labs for Education program. The focus is on the design projects of students in the field of information and communication technology. It presents the newly developed approach of the project, in which the students apply the Design Thinking process from Stanford University to their design projects, mostly in the areas of social media, web design, audio and video editing, and animation.

While food significantly impacts our daily lives, the health implications of dietary choices are equally crucial. Recipe adaptation systems emerge here as a helpful practice for automatically modifying food to recipes. They offer users diverse options to substitute ingredients while fulfilling specific needs. However, users may lack expertise in nutrition, making health-conscious decisions more challenging. In this study, we propose to use fuzzy linguistic variables to offer easily understandable nutritional information for final users. We show the process of incorporating fuzzy nutritional labels into the final interface of a food system, demonstrating the practical implementation of our approach. This user-friendly interface empowers individuals with understandable dietary information to make informed choices, thus improving the nutritional quality of their food selections.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly integral to higher education, especially in scientific writing. AI programs aid in literature searches and enhance clarity, style, and grammar, improving academic writing quality and efficiency. This research explores students' views on Explainpaper, an AI tool for scientific writing. By focusing on students' experiences, the study evaluates Explainpaper's reliability and user-friendliness, with implications for educators in mitigating AI's potential drawbacks and leading AI integration in education. The study examines Explainpaper's use in academic writing within a 'Scientific Writing' course, employing a two-round, student-centered approach. It assesses student interactions with AI tools, identifying challenges and drawbacks. A survey of English and German-speaking students gauges perceptions of Explainpaper's reliability, attitudes toward future AI use in writing, and views on professors' role in AI adoption. Anticipated outcomes include nuanced insights into AI-supported writing in higher education and its implications. Empirical findings will inform guidelines for proactive professorial engagement with technology, breaking the cycle of reactive responses to technological advancements and meeting student expectations. The study aims to elucidate AI's benefits and challenges in student writing, shaping guidelines for higher education. This research underscores the importance of student perspectives in AI-supported writing adoption. This research explores the potential of Augmented Reality (AR) to enhance students' learning experience and autonomy in workshop equipment usage. The study addresses research questions concerning the improvement of knowledge in equipment usage and whether AR motivates students to self-train. The objective is to develop an AR experience for engineering workshop equipment, assessing its impact on knowledge and motivation. The research involves a contextual overview of AR applications in education. Then, an AR environment is prototyped and tested, following four phases: extended environment design, construction, instrument selection, and experimentation. The extended environment focuses on a 3D printer, integrating elements like images, videos, and specifications. Validated instrument selection involves the Instructional Materials Motivation Survey (IMMS) [1] and knowledge assessments. Results show that using AR significantly improved students' knowledge of equipment usage processes. Post-activity assessments demonstrated a substantial increase, with the knowledge of the process increasing 46.4% and the knowledge of equipment increasing 28.4%. Additionally, IMMS results revealed positive motivational outcomes and correlation analysis indicated strong associations between motivational factors and knowledge dimensions. Therefore, it can be inferred that the use of AR as support in the self-training of students in the workshop has the potential to significantly develop their performance, since it helps simplify the understanding of processes and provides them with a source of information always available. AR offers dynamic and autonomous training, enabling students to understand and apply theoretical and operational aspects by themselves, motivating them to keep on learning way beyond a specific class.

In this paper, we propose a new approach for detecting and removing impulse noise. The method uses the new framework of cloud filtering for detecting noise locations. This new framework use efficient mathematical tools to filter with sets of filters rather than with a single one. Once a (very) noisy pixel is detected, its illumination is estimated by an extension of the median filtering applied on the neighborhood defined by the cloud. Experiments on various images demonstrate the capacity of the algorithm to identify noisy pixels (especially at low noise rate) while well preserving image edges.

Many programming environments are promoted as tools for teaching Computational Thinking (CT) and coding skills to young children, particularly those in preschool. However, their effectiveness is still in the early stages. In a study conducted over three weeks, a teaching intervention was used to explore how ScratchJr can improve CT and basic coding skills in a group of preschoolers (N = 34, aged 4-6). The mean pretest performance of the control group (M = 7.07, SD = 2.58) was significantly higher than that of the test group (M = 5.35, SD = 1.58), t(22.64) = 2.23, p =.036. Nevertheless, careful examination of the data indicates a statistically significant improvement in preschoolers exposed to the ScratchJr educational intervention. The findings provide evidence for the efficacy of the programming environment in fostering CT and coding abilities among young children in preschool. Both teaching approaches equivalently foster the fundamental coding concepts of control structures and modularity. The experimental cohort performs statistically significantly better than the control group in understanding the powerful ideas of algorithms, hardware/, and representation. In contrast, the control group outperforms the test group in understanding the debugging concept. The results strongly support the effectiveness of the programming environment ScratchJr, highlighting its ability to develop CT and coding skills in preschoolers.
