In the dynamic landscape of higher education, digital technologies are crucial for fostering collaboration and knowledge dissemination. European universities are embracing this shift through "European Universities", transnational alliances aimed at enhancing academic exchange and innovation. The Unite! alliance, as part of its Erasmus+ project, established the "Community Digital Campus" (Cm.2) to develop a modern digital campus framework. Based on an analysis to identify and document the technological, organizational, and legal needs for such a campus, using desk research, surveys, and stakeholder discussions, key requirements are formulated. Key requirements identified include ensuring interoperability among digital infrastructures, robust decision-making processes for IT, strategic support for existing systems, and addressing budgetary considerations for federated systems.

In today's rapidly evolving world, traditional classroom settings are being complemented by innovative spaces that foster practically oriented teaching learning. Makerspaces, also known as fabrication labs or innovation hubs, have gained prominence as essential centers for creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning. In the context of Ethiopian Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS), these spaces could play a crucial role in fostering innovation, bridging the gap between theory and practice, and preparing students for real-world challenges. This paper explores the significance of makerspaces within Ethiopian Universities of Applied Sciences by complementing practice-oriented learning. Using an integrative review method, the current study conducted an examination of related literature on the areas of makerspaces;practice-oriented teaching learning and innovation and developed an integrated model, which combines the three constructs.

Clandestine excavations, widespread throughout the Italian territory, represent a significant threat to cultural heritage. As the cradle of Magna Graecia, Southern Italy is an undisputed witness to this destructive phenomenon. These illicit activities strip artifacts of their original context, compromise history, and hinder research. The profit-driven counterfeit industry thrives due to the ample supply of raw materials essential for the counterfeiting processes within the region. In addressing these challenges, this study adopts a multidisciplinary approach, merging forensic investigations with archaeometric analyses, to authenticate ceramic artifacts recovered from clandestine excavations by the Carabinieri Unit for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and Anti-Counterfeiting in Cosenza, Calabria, Italy. Despite some documented stylistic- iconographic incoherent features compared to the same typology finds certainly authentic, the archaeometric results achieved so far demonstrate the compatibility of the majority of the examined samples. Additional studies with further analytical investigations using microscopic, geochemical, and physical methods on micro-samples will be essential to confirm the preliminary data.

In recent years, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into Learning Management systems (LMS) has expanded, though many tools lack alignment with learning environment competencies, causing cognitive overload and diminishing learner motivation. This paper explores integrating an AI-based formative feedback system within an LMS, designed to enhance learner competencies and align with curriculum and learning objectives. Utilizing a self-trained large language model, the system processes predefined teaching materials to deliver efficient formative feedback, minimizing cognitive overload. Our study, involving 450 students from the University of Leipzig, assesses the impact of AI-generated feedback during lectures on learning performance, validated against specified learning objectives and competencies. Results emphasize the importance of incorporating sound pedagogical practices in developing AI tools for adaptive learning environments, demonstrating that AI-driven formative feedback can significantly enhance the efficacy of these environments and achieve educational goals.

Modern specialists in engineering fields need not only deep knowledge but also the ability to use mathematical packages of application programs (MPAP) to solve complex problems. Despite the significant advantages of MPAP, their use in the educational process is limited due to methodological insecurity and lack of knowledge among teachers. In this article, the authors examine the effectiveness of MPAP in the training of specialists and develop methodological recommendations for their integration into the educational process. An analysis of the didactic capabilities of MPAP (MatLab, MatchCad, Mathematica, SciLab, Octave) and an experimental verification of their effectiveness at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics showed that MPAP: increases interest in learning mathematics;provide opportunities for visualization of material, individualization of learning, development of graphic culture, involvement in research work, independent preparation and control of knowledge. The developed methodical recommendations for the integration of MPAP in the educational process will help overcome the problems associated with their use and improve the quality of training of specialists.

This multi-stage study collected data from teachers and coordinators of student inquiry projects to explore the potential of introducing the elements of data science and data analytics in the high school computing curriculum. The study resulted with a set of recommendations for updating the existing textbook and using CODAP software instead of usual spreadsheets for more dynamic and interactive learning.

Design Thinking as a mindset focuses on understanding context and continuous engagement with people, setting them at the heart of the practice so as to determine types of problems to be solved, metrics that drive success and emerging business growth from solving the problem. As a term, it has been closely linked with entrepreneurship and innovation models. However, there is a variety of Design Thinking models which bring forward and put emphasis on different aspects of design process. The aim of this paper is to search for common ground between the design thinking process (DTP) models and their comparison on the basis of a Design Science Research Methodology Comparison Framework (Avison & Fitzerald, 2006). To address this issue we first surveyed existing literature through Science Direct Database, case studies and findings for different (DT) methodology approaches and then compared the DTP models using the Avison and Fitzerald framework (2006). Data revealed common characteristics but also points of differentiation between the Design Thinking Models, in philosophy, model format, product development, tools and techniques used.

Faculty development programmes at higher educational institutions are typically organized in many formats including physical and hybrid workshops, classroom observations, recordings, etc. Impact studies of these programmes describe that only a small fraction of the instructors experiment with new teaching approaches indicating the need for effective faculty mentoring approaches. In this study, an approach to studying classroom behaviours of instructors and students through classroom observation is proposed and implemented as a pilot. The goal of the process was to measure and improve learner engagement in the classroom. A classroom observation protocol along with a set of tools was provided to faculty observers which were used as tools to mentor faculty. The process comprised of three cycles of observation per instructor and included a pre-meeting of the two faculty observers with the instructor followed by classroom observation using the protocol and tools. After the classroom session observation, a post-meeting was conducted where the instructor was guided to change the teaching practice through questions, real-life examples, etc. to improve learner engagement. One of the key outcomes expected from these protocols was an increase in instructor and student behaviours meant to improve instructor-student engagement. In conclusion, a classroom observation protocol was implemented that led to measurable improvements in an 'Engagement Index' indicating that faculty behaviour can be influenced through timely feedback closely following instructional sessions.

In this study, we summarize the long-term experience of an international collaborative learning initiative focused on innovative entrepreneurship. The authors explore the implications of the introduction of artificial intelligence in the educational environment, in particular its role in teaching foreign languages at the university level. The paper thoroughly examines the key benefits and drawbacks of implementing artificial intelligence in higher vocational education. Furthermore, it meticulously analyzes the linguistic and instructional capabilities of ChatGPT within the realm of the teaching process. The research methods include analytical work on various sources and provide methodological strategies for classroom and extracurricular service-learning activities in the foreign language learning process. Study purpose: to assess the viability of implementing ChatGPT in foreign language education and to explore the characteristics and instances of integrating artificial intelligence technologies within the educational sector. Objectives of the study include analyzing the potential of ChatGPT and assessing its applications in university-level foreign language instruction;to consider real cases of artificial intelligence technologies implementation in Ukrainian and foreign universities and to analyze our own experience of its application in foreign language classes. The authors of the article make a convincing conclusion: artificial intelligence is a powerful tool that optimizes a wide range of operations, thereby increasing the efficiency of the organization of the educational process. Special attention is paid to the problems of artificial intelligence application in engineering universities. The study's findings can be utilized by educators, educational program developers, and technology creators to enhance foreign language teaching methodologies.
