This survey paper explores the integration of blockchain technology into Ration Distribution systems (RDS) and its potential to address long-standing challenges. During aircraft pilot training, flight briefings play a critical role in reinforcing key concepts, reviewing safety procedures, and addressing any operational or regulatory considerations. However, post-flight briefings require validated information about the entire route taken by the aircraft, and not all airplanes have the devices and tools to support these briefings. In fact, flight mission monitoring and analysis systems are often proprietary, and the costs of using them can be quite high. Therefore, this work proposes the design and implementation of the necessary hardware and software for the tracking and analysis of flight missions carried out by light airplanes. The implemented prototype includes a small electronic device with an external GPS (Global Positioning System) antenna that records the raw geographic coordinates of the route followed by the aircraft. Those raw coordinates are entered into a computer program that allows for the visualization and analysis of various flight parameters, such as position, velocity, and acceleration. Due to errors produced by commercial GPS devices, an extended Kalman filter and a machine learning-based regression have been used to generate smoothed routes that consider the inertia of moving objects, increasing positioning accuracy. Unmanned aerial vehicles were used to evaluate this prototype, besides some other tests with ground vehicles. The results are quite encouraging given the budget constraints, obtaining average accuracies of less than 6.4 m for spatial positioning, 2.3 m/s for velocity estimation, and 0.5 m/s(2) for acceleration.

Digital image authentication is a critical process in ensuring the integrity and ownership of digital images, especially in the age of widespread digital manipulation and unauthorized use. In this manuscript, an image watermarking scheme has been proposed by combining the Lifting Wavelet Transform (LWT) and the Least Significant Bit (LSB) for image authentication. The goal of the proposed scheme is to achieve robustness against various attacks while maintaining the high-quality visual appearance of the watermarked image. Experimental evaluations are conducted to assess the performance of the proposed hybrid watermarking scheme. Various metrics, including Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), Structural Similarity Index (SSIM), and Normalized Correlation (NC), are employed to measure the visual quality, robustness, and authentication accuracy of the watermarked image. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme in achieving high-quality visual appearance, robustness against attacks, and accurate image authentication.

Most of the current solar energy systems use fixed solar panels that are oriented toward one direction. In this paper, we present the initial stages of an ongoing project that considers absorbing maximum solar energy by tracking the sun's direction. This will maximize the produced electricity and enhance system efficiency. The proposed architecture consists of hardware and software aimed at sensing maximum illumination based on a photovoltaic panel controlled by a servomotor. This solar tracking system is remotely managed by a wireless communication system based on Wi-Fi technology. This is accomplished by two user interfaces that offer different parameter readings and various statistical analyses. The obtained results are encouraging and promising and furnish a platform for future applications in the field of solar energy generation.

Educational establishments have progressively accepted the use of computers in the classroom due to the quick development of technology. To guarantee that computer technology has a good influence on students' learning, however, extensive consideration and study are necessary before implementing it in elementary school. This study's main goal is to determine and evaluate the best practices for incorporating computer technology into elementary school environments. To provide a strong theoretical framework for the investigation, a thorough analysis of the body of prior research on the topic will be carried out. The study will further examine the possible advantages and difficulties linked to integrating computer technology into the elementary curriculum. To collect information from a variety of sources, including educators, students, and school officials, a combination of techniques will be used. While information of a qualitative nature will be gathered using interviews and observation to acquire understanding of the method of implementation and its influence on the educational setting, quantitative information will be gathered using surveys and standardized assessments to assess pupil educational results. The research intends to provide light on a number of topics related to computer technology integration in elementary schools, including infrastructures teacher preparation, curriculum design, and accessible. This research aims to provide educators and policymakers with useful advice by identifying effective implementation methods and comprehending their implications on student learning. The discoveries of this study will add to the corpus of information about computer technology convergence.

The fifth generation (5G) mobile network is designed to revolutionize mobile broadband technology by addressing the shortfalls of its predecessor the fourth generation (4G) mobile network, also known as the long-term evolution (LTE), with key considerations of higher data rate, improved power efficiency, low latency and better quality of service. This work analyzes the impact of small cells on the performance of LTE (4G) and 5G networks. In this paper, 4G LTE and 5G networks were simulated using Excel for simplicity and performance evaluations were carried out. The performance metrics used for the evaluations are basic system throughput and offloading. The results of the evaluations on both networks were analyzed. The results showed that 5G network performs better than 4G LTE network whether the small cell base station (SBS) is closer to the macro base station (MBS) or at the edge of the macro base station.

This paper continues research aimed at improving the performance accuracy of an evolutionary K-Means algorithm named Population-Based K-Means (PBKM). The PBKM design tries to overcome some limitations of basic K-Means behavior by two steps. In the first step, a population is built with a certain number of centroid candidates, some of which naturally located close to ground truth centroids. In the second step, the population candidate centroids are systematically recombined to achieve a careful clustering solution. Both steps depend on the use of Repeated K-Means together with careful seeding. The paper's contribution paper consists in developing a new seeding method in the crucial first step of population set-up. Each candidate solution is determined by randomly splitting the dataset into a certain number of segments, clustering each segment by careful seeding, and merging the clusters of the various segments through a pairwise-nearest-neighbor (PNN) strategy. The paper demonstrates the clustering performance of the new PBKM by several simulation experiments carried out on synthetic and real-world datasets.

Image de-fencing refers to the removal of fence structures from an image thereby creating a visually attractive synthetic image rendered with appropriate colors in place of the fence regions in the input image. In this paper, we focus on developing a lightweight deep neural model for image de-fencing that can be conveniently used on devices with less memory and processing power such as smartphones and other portable devices. Specifically, we present a response-based knowledge-distilled student model termed DefenceLite which is trained by transferring knowledge from an effective GAN-based teacher de-fencing model. DefenceLite has fewer parameters (approximately 80% less) than the teacher model and, thus, has a lower response time. It is trained with an extensive dataset consisting of pairs of fenced and corresponding de-fenced images using a combination of adversarial loss and L1 loss. According to experimental findings, DefenceLite is capable of providing visually pleasing defenced outputs that are comparable with the teacher model outputs but at the cost of significantly less processing time. Qualitative and quantitative comparative studies with recent deep learning-based de-fencing techniques demonstrate that despite being much lighter, DefenceLite has the potential to achieve results comparable to the recently developed deeper de-fencing models.

The reach of technology stretches across a wide variety of domains: from the health industry to entertainment and gaming. Software programming undoubtedly plays a major role in modern technology. Therefore, computer science and programming education is of the utmost importance. In our research, we aim to investigate the best approaches and languages to be used to introduce programming to students and others wishing to learn to program. Indeed, there are numerous approaches to learning programming and lots of existing research regarding these approaches. There are also numerous programming languages and types of audiences. We highlight various methods that can be used to teach programming, and how those approaches can best be matched to different programming languages and audiences. We build upon existing research to reach conclusions, and we conduct our own survey that involves computer science students, computer science teachers, and software development professionals. Our goal is not to promote a certain approach or to promote a particular programming language. Rather, we find correlations and provide recommendations regarding which languages are most suitable for different approaches and audiences.
