Additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, has revolutionized themanufacturing industry by enabling the creation of complex parts in an efficient and customizedmanner. In the case of the Corsa Evolution's throttle body, additive manufacturing has been used to produce this key component of the air intake system. In terms of meshing type analysis, meshing in additive manufacturing refers to the internal structure of the 3D printed part. Meshing can vary in terms of density and design, which directly affects the properties and performance of the final part. The additive manufacturing of the acceleration body of the Corsa Evolution has allowed the production of a customized and efficient component. The analysis of the type of mesh in this process plays a crucial role in optimizing the performance of the final part, taking into account factors such as strength, weight and airflow.

The telecommunications industry plays a critical role in supporting the success of enterprises and organizations by providing the necessary infrastructure for communication, collaboration, and data sharing. The past several years have seen a transition to next-generation networking paradigms, and academic and industrial research communities are attracting the attention of Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) to provide an improved method of utilizing IT virtualization technologies and consolidate different types of network equipment onto standard storage, switches, routers, and servers. The network operators can design their networks without the need for proprietary hardware appliances by placing those storage, switches, routers, and servers in various locations, including cloud datacenters, network nodes, and even end-user premises. Instead, they can use software based on those standard hardware components to implement network functions like network address translation, firewall, domain name service, and caching on software built on those common server hardware components. The design and optimization of this network infrastructure with a strong emphasis on robust security measures are essential. Consequently, the emergence of complementing Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) technologies in Virtual Private networks addresses the increasing security challenges by establishing secure communication channels and implementing encryption protocols. This article aims to investigate the implementation and utilization of these technologies, along with the integration of additional protocols to enhance WAN infrastructure. Furthermore, various practical implementations have been developed to effectively employ these protocols and ensure the secure transfer of data. The purpose of the study is to demonstrate the feasibility of combining traffic simulator technology with machine learning (ML) methods to create realistic and comprehensive synthetic traffic data. Synthetic data alleviates many ethical and privacy concerns, significantly reduces the costs associated with data collection, and enables researchers to study scenarios and conditions that are difficult or impossible to replicate in real-world environments. Access to large amounts of diverse and controlled data is essential for developing and testing artificial intelligence (AI) models and leads to more reliable and robust results. Traffic simulators like SUMO have been successfully used for that purpose in the past, creating realistic vehicular traces. One drawback is that, without coupling them with complex physics emulators, they are not capable of generating internal vehicle parameters. Such parameters, on the other hand, are crucial for many purposes, from understanding energy efficiency and optimizing driver behavior to predictive maintenance and monitoring the degradation of key components, such as driveline batteries. In this paper, we propose Synthetic Traffic Data Generator (STDG) and demonstrate that an ML model that is trained on the internal parameters of a vehicle in one set of conditions (Sweden) can be used to generate synthetic data corresponding to another setting (Monaco). The proposed method promises to eliminate the need for an expensive collection of the original vehicle parameters across many different settings. Moreover, sharing the synthetic data with additional stakeholders is easier due to the reduced security and integrity risk of exposing the vehicle's privacy-sensitive original parameters. This study compares several ML techniques, including deep learning (DL) based, for generating internal parameters of vehicles, such as fuel rate, engine speed, and wet tank air pressure. This work aims to study the kinematic and dynamic behavior of racing vehicles participating in an inter-university competition called the SAE formula. The authors developed a multibody model by using three-dimensional CAD and Mathworks' Simscape multibody simulation environment. Such a combination of tools allows the development of detailed multibody system models to be investigated for optimizing vehicle performance. The final goal is to develop a parametrical multibody model and apply Design of Experiments techniques for studying the correlation and influence of geometrical and dynamical parameters of the push-rod suspension installed on the racing car.

Large-scale analysis of data requires a significant amount of computing power and resources, so the vast and flexible interpreting, preservation, and remote servers that cloud computing companies provide are very attractive. MongoDB is a widely used database management system for big data that is known for its fast performance and ability to execute activities within the MapReduce framework. The notion of big data relies on the conceptualization of resource collaboration, where applications and related infrastructure are frequently distributed among multiple users or organizations through isolation techniques such as virtualization. Big data is vulnerable to various types of assaults owing to its collaborative assets and extensive system software. The lack of efficacy and utility in improving the efficiency and privacy of big data is a significant challenge. The mission of securing big data is of utmost importance, as any discrepancies in this regard can have significant detrimental effects. The complex and voluminous characteristics of big data pose significant challenges in the application of traditional security methodologies, thereby leading to potential issues. Therefore, this research approach utilizes effective big data query classification and partitioning along with mapping and parallel computation for improving efficiency, as well as a bilinear pairing, avalanche effect, and tamper detection for forensic analysis and report generation. The approach has been effectively tested and compared with conventional approaches to achieve improved outcomes.

The work is dedicated to increasing the operational quality of pump units for the thermal and nuclear power plants in Ukraine, which are characterized by physical and moral aging. The problem is addressed through the development and implementation of energy-saving control algorithms for pump units that were realized at the Zmiiv Thermal Power Plant. A centrifugal-type circulation pump which supplies cooling water to the condenser is considered as an example of the implementation of the algorithm. The article presents mathematical models of pump operation modes, conducts experimental research on their characteristics to identify the proposed mathematical models, and determines the numerical parameters of energy-efficient control algorithms. Universal laws and algorithms for energy-efficient control of pump operation modes have been developed to achieve maximum efficiency values in their main operating modes, associated with reducing energy and fuel consumption for internal needs of power plants that is relevant to the United Nations Development Goals.

People aged 65 and over are generally referred to as older adult, and these people often require physical and mental support. Therefore, we developed a physical and mental support system for the older adults by using the communication robot, Unibo. In daily physical support, it is important to be able to obtain vital values quickly and easy to check them, and in mental support, communication is important. Hence the system measures body temperature, blood pressure, and pulse rate and provides physical support for contacting medical institutions about the measurements and mental support for reducing loneliness and anxiety through conversations and games. The experimental results demonstrated that the system has the potential to relieve loneliness and anxiety in the older adults while aiding medical institutions in obtaining measurement data directly. Moreover, the system was demonstrated to be a friendly verbal communication interface for older adults.

The use of remote laboratories nowadays offers multiple advantages like accessibility, cost-effectiveness, flexibility, and safety. However, ensuring a secure and uniform interface for a remote laboratory remains a challenge. In this paper, we present the development of the Real-Time Remote Lab Bridge Server (or simply BridgeServer), a tiny web server that provides secure and transparent access to remote labs, without the necessity of a third-party software or password sharing. Its key features are the serve of a web-based remote desktop session created with locally stored credentials, secure file downloads, session time administration, and automated access control thanks to the validation with an Application Programming Interface (API) of a Booking System. This solution maintains control, employs consistent credentials for all users, and prevents direct access to lab equipment control software. We provide a real-world use case that exemplifies the flexibility of our solution simplifying access to a third-party software remote lab without any need for code modifications. We successfully solved access challenges in an international network of real-time remote labs deployed in Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Europe, particularly for Windows-based lab control software.

Solar modules are subject to a range of atmospheric events such as rain, wind, and snow and for this reason, they are usually built with protection frames. Nevertheless, these measures are insufficient to prevent damages, especially from the mechanical ones (e.g., the fall of tree branches) decreasing the power efficiency of solar modules. Then it is necessary to monitor their healthy conditions and replace or repair defective units. Electroluminescence, a useful inspection modality of solar modules, makes it possible to detect even the finest defects on the surface of solar modules. However, the analysis of these images is usually carried out by human operators, making this inspection practice expensive, time-consuming and it requires very specific knowledge. In state-of-the-art there are several works that distinguish between a healthy cell and defective cell, but a public dataset of possible defects in solar cells has never been published. For this reason, we propose a new dataset and a preliminary benchmark to make an automatic and accurate classification of defects in solar cells. The dataset includes five classes of defects and the pre-trained ResNext50 network reaches 0.07 Hamming Distance.

The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the use of digital platforms and the sharing of online experiences concerning the sociodemographic profile of the consumer, the perception of the importance of the brand on digital platforms, and the significance of digital content in purchasing decisions. This article is pioneering for simultaneously addressing these three issues. The data is gathered using an online questionnaire distributed from April to May 2023. The analysis, including main component analysis and multiple linear regression models, was conducted using SPSS (version 21), AMOS (version 21), and STATA (version 14). The results indicate that age, level of education and the quality of digital content in the purchasing decision process are key elements in the use of digital platforms and sharing experiences. Companies that comprise the importance of these key elements can develop more effective marketing strategies, creating a positive online presence and cultivating lasting relationships with consumers.
