Software publishing, consultancy, and supply are becoming very important in today's global concern for making businesses sustainable. ErfindenTech Pvt. Ltd. is an enterprise started by Mr. Sachin Deshpande in November 2017. Today, supply chain has become important for businesses as a lot of costly resources are unnecessarily used thereby resulting in a lot of wastage. So, businesses nowadays have begun to measure the impact of their products and services on environment and society right from the start till the end of their life cycles. Attempts are made to reduce as much as possible societal and environmental harm by controlling factors like energy usage, water consumption, and waste production and going in for a streamlined operations procedure. ErfindenTech Pvt. Ltd. therefore offers software publishing, consultancy, and supply services. The researchers sought to study how ErfindenTech Pvt Ltd. strives to make businesses sustainable, through innovative operations solutions. The primary technique of research was qualitative in nature with the researchers conducting an interview of Mr. Sachin Deshpande, the founder of the enterprise. This method was supported by reference to a lot of secondary reading from reputed research journals and articles. The study showed that innovative technology-based solutions were utilized by Mr. Deshpande to make businesses sustainable in their operations. The study is important as SDGs have gained importance-worldwide, and the business case for sustainable operations is growing stronger on a daily basis.

The concept of the "Internet of Things," which states that everything is connected to everything else and that everything interactswith everything else, is a fascinating information technology concept. The integration of these devices will add to the remarkable change and prosperity in the world. This interconnectedness occurs through the exchange of data and information and enables us to communicate with objects in our environment. The Internet of Things is being integrated into the daily operations of many industries. Smart cities, smart grids, smart homes, logistics, e-health, and physical security are some examples. IoTs applications that deliver quality and affordability can be supported by an IoTs-enabled smart building. It is essential for smart buildings to handle and regulate a variety of operating variables, including temperature, humidity, lighting, ventilation, safety, and more. Creating living areas with higher levels of luxury and a higher standard of living is also essential. However, there are still concerns about privacy and security. Attackers and hackers will find this large volume of transferred data to be a very interesting setup. In order to address security and privacy concerns, we will explain the issues in this article, along with their basic requirements, potential risks, countermeasures and comprehensive analysis of Cyber-attacks in smart environment.

Solid waste management is crucial for mitigating environmental pollution, protecting public health, and promoting sustainable resource utilization. Municipalities play a central role in solid waste management (SWM) by overseeing collection, disposal, and recycling efforts within their jurisdiction, promoting sustainable waste management practices. This paper investigates case of Kuwait and presents a benefit-cost ratio (BCR) analysis of the economic feasibility of solid waste recycling facilities under uncertainty. To account for the inherent variability and risk factors, a Monte Carlo simulation approach is utilized. Results are examined under three scenarios: optimistic, moderate, and pessimistic. The findings show that investment becomes feasible in the optimistic case (avg. BCR: 1.070), slightly above feasibility threshold in the moderate case (avg. BCR: 1.006), and infeasible in the pessimistic case (avg. BCR: 0.936). Based on the overall analysis, it was concluded that such investments may not be economically feasible in all scenarios. However, they offer several benefits beyond merely economic ones. Therefore, environmental and societal benefits should also be considered when evaluating these types of investments.

Dielectric nanophotonics is advancing at incredible speed, particularly with the potential to create a variety of photonic applications to control radiation at the nanoscale. A promising direction in this area is tunable metasurfaces controlled by the environment. In this work, we studied the possibility of creating a selectively transparent metasurface in a hybrid anapole state, controlled by 2D materials with the help of different methods.

Safety-critical systems require rapid detection of abnormal behavior to prevent damage and reduce downtime. Monitoring only individual data inputs above a threshold may be insufficient, as this approach may be too slow to respond effectively to rapidly evolving situations and fails to consider the complex interactions between various system components. Thus, advanced fault detection methods are required. Novelty detection methods address this problem by identifying previously unknown states based on knowledge of known states. We present a novel approach called Deep Ensemble Novelty Detection (DEND) for accurate and stable novelty detection performance across multivariate data such as stationary time series, non-stationary time series, tabular data, and vectorized images. In addition, we demonstrate how to identify the fault causes of the detected unknown states by the utilization of a decision tree (DT) to learn the hierarchical fault causes and the use of a multilayer perceptron (MLP) to explain the fault causes.

Using the CDIO framework in project teaching has been proven to help improve students' teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills. However, the CDIO class at Duy Tan University (DTU) was at risk of significant fragmentation, as groups working on different projects were not interested in participating in discussions and sharing with other groups. It happened because their knowledge is insufficient to discuss another project in-depth, the time spent in cross-group discussions is short, or simply because of student apathy. Moreover, the Covid-19 pandemic has made implementing learning groups in CDIO much more difficult. Numerous ways have been tried to engage students in learning and adapt to specific conditions before, during, and after the pandemic. Before the pandemic, we increased the enjoyment of learning for students by creating a "fun competition" using DTU-Clicker, the electronic voting device for end-of-class quizzes. The winning team in the poll will receive bonus points, while the other groups will receive the knowledge that the CDIO instructor wants to convey. During Covid-19, we must shift the CDIO projects to an online teaching format. Accordingly, we use Kahoot! to create games in learning CDIO for class members, as well as members of a group. Back after the pandemic, we used Plicker as an enhancement to DTU-Clicker. This paper presents some sharing and comparisons about implementing CDIO teaching at DTU regarding the mentioned techniques. We emphasize the importance of the CDIO instructor's method of imparting knowledge and students' excitement and passion when learning CDIO. At the same time, the results show DTU's efforts in adapting to different teaching conditions.

DevOps is a software development methodology created to reduce or even remove the division between the Development (Dev) and Operations (Ops) teams. However, DevOps adoption requires overcoming several impediments, and between them, culture change and human factors have the biggest impact. Therefore, this paper addresses the challenge of DevOps adoption from the perspective of DevOps culture and human factors. A systematic mapping study was carried out to create a taxonomy of human factors affecting DevOps adoption. A total of 21 studies were selected and 59 human factors were included in the taxonomy after the extraction and synthesis processes.

Information and communications technologies (ICT) are essential to achieving energy sustainability objectives. With their substantial daily traffic, e-commerce websites are especially important. This study looked into the connection between the most popular e-commerce websites' sustainability and usability. This study evaluated usability employing accepted web-based user experience criteria. Furthermore, a framework for assessing website elements that support sustainability was put forth. Through an analysis of the features of four tools that quantify sustainability-related factors such as page load time, browser cache usage, JavaScript usage, HTTP request volume, and usage of green servers we gathered a total of 39 sustainability criteria for software. Finally, we evaluated whether usability and sustainability were correlated. There was no significant correlation between usability and sustainability according to our research. Still, the framework this paper develops is a useful tool for sustainability evaluations.

This work is part of the GLORiA research project and focuses on the use of deep learning and computer vision in aquaculture. Specifically, this work deals with the automatic identification of escaped fish. The aim is to use images of the fish, previously acquired in the laboratory with pre-established patterns, to obtain information about the species it belongs to, whether it is farmed, escaped or wild. We will use a pre-trained network, ResNet50, in combination with transfer learning techniques for this purpose. In addition, we will also develop a prototype application. This application will integrate the trained model to provide a practical tool for automated identification and classification of fish based on uploaded images.

In Somalia, livestock and agriculture are key economic sectors, heavily dependent on water resources, primarily from the Juba and Shabelle rivers used for irrigation. Traditional energy sources for irrigation are costly and require daily maintenance. Farmers distant from these rivers rely on only two rainy seasons for crop growth, However, some seasons fail to rain, and drought occurs. This study aims to evaluate the design and economics of a solar-powered photovoltaic water pumping (PVWP) system for irrigation in Somalia. A banana farm in the south served as a case study, receiving about 5.25 Kwh/m(2) of solar radiation daily. The water needs for various crops were assessed using the CROPWAT program. Crops like sugarcane, mango, and banana were found to be the most water-intensive, while sorghum, beans, and watermelon needed less water. Two PVWP system designs, AC and DC, were simulated using PVSYST software. The AC system required 6 solar panels (285wp each) to pump 82m3/day, while the DC system achieved this with just 4 panels and greater efficiency. Economic analysis compared these systems with diesel water pumps (DWPs), using metrics like capital cost, life cycle cost, and cost per cubic meter of pumped water. The cost per cubic meter was 0.17 USD for the DC system and 0.22 USD for the AC system, significantly lower than the 0.68 USD for DWPs. The study concludes that solar photovoltaic technology can enhance agricultural productivity and food production, improving farmers' livelihoods and contributing to Somalia's economic development.
