Globalization of digital communication, made available by the internet, has highlighted elements that are still very different in different markets, among them, those dimensions related to different languages and cultures. Digital communication has tackled such differences, and the need to address different target locales in different ways, through so-called "Localization", which can be considered as a cultural translation. Localization includes also changes related to different legal systems, or time/season zones, as well as currencies, payment systems, social media used in given areas. However, while a company is requested to ensure high quality contents and functionalities for specific markets, it has also to ensure identity and consistency across different regions. Striking the right equilibrium between consistency and identity on one side, and localization on the other, is particularly relevant for luxury brands, which leverage their (cultural) identity as a major dimension of their (perceived) value. This study analyzes how five European Luxury brands - Bulgari, Cartier, Gucci, La Prairie, and Rolex - adapt their websites for the Chinese market;such analysis is done through a comparison between their websites for the French, Italian, and Swiss markets and the Chinese one, how and how much they localize.

The content of an appositive relative clause is a type of conventional implicature, that is, secondary or supplementary information of a sentence. Focusing on discourse behaviors and scopal properties, we present an analysis of appositive relative clauses based on Dependent Type Semantics, a type-theoretical semantic framework. Our central idea is that appositive content implicitly extends the typing context during the process of type checking, reflecting a property of conventional implicatures, namely, that they directly update the common ground.

The paper suggests a framework for investing advice based on the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) that is specifically designed for buyers of government bonds. The financial situation and investment goals of Hungarian clients are considered when customizing recommendations using this system. Based on their choices, it classifies consumers with comparable financial profiles and gives them advice on whether to invest in government bonds. 1542 possible investors' data were used to test the suggested system. Of these investors, about 52% expressed interest in government bonds, and the remainder of investors had no interest at all. The system's capacity to determine which client segments are appropriate for investing in government bonds by utilizing financial status criteria, like investment objectives, was demonstrated by the results. The report also identifies the shortcomings of the suggested system and makes recommendations for further research directions. Despite these limitations, the proposed framework presents a promising method for offering investment recommendations to government clients. It underscores the potential of employing ANFIS in this domain, paving the way for more sophisticated investment advisory systems.

We consider the impact of trading fees on the profits of arbitrageurs trading against an automated marker marker (AMM) or, equivalently, on the adverse selection incurred by liquidity providers due to arbitrage. We extend the model of Milionis et al. [1] for a general class of two asset AMMs to both introduce fees and discrete Poisson block generation times. In our setting, we are able to compute the expected instantaneous rate of arbitrage profit in closed form. When the fees are low, in the fast block asymptotic regime, the impact of fees takes a particularly simple form: fees simply scale down arbitrage profits by the fraction of time that an arriving arbitrageur finds a profitable trade.

Likert-type items or scales, as well as open-ended questions, are frequently used in the collection of student feedback. While the analysis of numeric feedback includes many established statistical techniques, systematic analyses of answers to open-ended questions are quite rare due to the challenges of dealing with textual data. In this paper, we leverage the use of pre-trained large language models (LLMs) to extract topics from students' textual feedback about their experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, the open-ended questions focused on mental health and remote learning. There were 696 textual responses from 340 participants. Our analysis using a BERT-based pre-trained model resulted in the identification of 13 topics. To further understand these, we also present results from the Likert-type items related to stress, worry and remote learning in relation to demographic characteristics including age, gender and year of study.

Interactive, multimodal explorables that are openly accessible on the web present a promising avenue for education. However, creating such explorables demands proficiency in web development, which excludes a significant number of educators and students from engaging in the authoring and remixing process. While some tools exist to mitigate this entry barrier, they each have issues in terms of fulfilling requirements of educators. In this demo, we present WebWriter, a prototype to author and remix explorables which aims to address the gap between educators' requirements and existing solutions. The core functionality of the prototype is discussed in detail, both from the authoring and the development perspective. A use case of how the tool can be utilized in practice is given and future research opportunities are discussed.

In recent decades, the role of cultural heritage in disaster risk management has been increasingly recognized. However, it is challenging to put in place adequate risk management strategies against possible threats to heritage institutions and the artifacts they work to preserve, manage, and share with both academia and the general public. Challenges include methodological divergences between different communities of experts, an inadequate knowledge of the assets and the inability to evaluate their worth from a non-market perspective, a severe lack of knowledge sharing, a lack of communication between different disciplines involved in heritage risk assessment, and a lack of engagement with local stakeholders. The Heritage Risk Assessment Ontology (HeRO) was developed and re-engineered to standardize risk assessment procedures and manage complex heritage risk data in a FAIR-compliant format. In this contribution, its effectiveness is demonstrated by illustrating its re-engineered structure and an example scenario involving digital preservation. Future work involves increasing its descriptive capabilities and developing a more effective typification mechanism by expanding and aligning existing vocabularies.

According to the United Nations, approximately 15% of the world's population has some form of disability. Although the development of service robots to support those people with disabilities is increasing, there has not been enough comprehensive discussion on the research and effectiveness of robots as assistive technology for people with disabilities. This study conducted an exploratory literature review to determine the current status of previous research on robots to assist people with disabilities and to provide a basis for research on robots to assist people with disabilities. A literature review was conducted using PubMed as the database to identify current research trends. The search was conducted on August 1, 2021, using the keywords "disabled" and "robotics" and 49 articles were identified. After an in-depth screening process, 43 studies were deemed eligible for further analysis. As a result, the previous studies covered a variety of robot applications, including robot-assisted gait training, robot-assisted play activities, and robot-assisted task-oriented upper limb skills training. Physical disabilities accounted for the majority of the disability types in the previous study (81.4%), of which 94.3% were targeted for movement disorders. Therefore, the results of this study suggest that research on robots for the disabled mainly targets movement disorders such as limb inconvenience caused by physical disabilities. Regarding the purpose of using robots to overcome these motor impairments, most of the research was on support and training for upper and lower limb movements. Effects on participation or activity were found in 54.5% of the articles dealing with movement disorders. It was suggested that robots can support activity and participation for movement disorders of people with disabilities and have some effectiveness. Arithmetic is a fundamental component of mathematics education that forms the basis for many other disciplines, including science, engineering, and finance. However, for many schoolchildren, learning arithmetic can be a difficult and often tedious task. Traditional methods of teaching arithmetic, such as rote memorization and repetitive practice, may not always be effective in engaging pupils and promoting a deep understanding of the material. To address these challenges, educators have explored alternative methods of teaching arithmetic that can engage pupils and promote a deeper understanding of the subject. A promising approach is the use of digital games. The objective of this research paper is to create a digital game in the form of a "Game & learn" web application that can be used to teach arithmetic to primary school children, the application is accessible via a web browser and includes a user-friendly interface suitable for children aged 6 to 11. Our game use interactive challenges and feedback to help children learn at their own pace and track their progress.

Crime data visualization plays a key role in understanding and dealing with criminal activities. This paper focuses on the integration of mixed reality (MR) and crime data analysis. There aremany barriers and challengeswhen developing MR three-dimensional (3D) environments for visualization and inspection. The main problem is the lack of commonly shared data structures and interfaces between them. The rise in crime rates over the past few years is a huge source of issue for police departments and law enforcement organizations. As the crime rates significantly changed throughout time, both upward and downward, these changes are then compared to external factors, such as population, unemployment, and poverty. There is a need for visualizing the multiple crime datasets in multiple states with external factors. This work proposes a novel interactive approach for loading crime datasets into the HoloLens 2 device and displaying them in a mixed-reality setting for data analysis. By allowing people to engage and analyze datasets in a 3D space, the suggested system seeks to close the gap between data analysis and machine learning. Users can import many datasets, such as spatial, category, and numerical data, into the HoloLens 2 device and interactively visualize crime data for different states simultaneously. The system offers user-friendly capabilities for interactive data visualization in mixed reality once the data has been imported. The dataset is manipulated and transformed by users, who can also rotate, scale, and position it in 3D. To depict various characteristics and dimensions of the data, the system also supports a variety of visual encoding techniques, such as color mapping, size scaling, and spatial layout with the use of the imported datasets and the HoloLens 2's visualization capabilities, users can discover new insights and intricate linkages within the data.
