Designing of the function interface is one of the key skills in programming. That requires feedback, which can be generated in the necessary quantity only by an intelligent tutoring system. In this paper, we propose a method of extracting function descriptions from inline comments in open-source code and find noun phrases that describe the data items passed to and returned from the function. We compare two popular NLP tools for parsing sentences and two different similarity measures to find the best-performing combination and develop sophisticated methods of filtering functions to increase the percentage of correctly marked functions. We achieved correctly marking more than 80% of the automatically selected functions, which significantly speeds up creating banks of learning problems for intelligent tutoring systems in programming learning.

Against the backdrop of digital humanities, artificial intelligence (AI) has been increasingly integrated with language education, particularly interpreting training. Although the academic world has reached a consensus about the importance of constructing a shared and intelligent repository for interpreting education by collecting speech videos, few have proposed workable methods of efficiently curating these collected resources. The current study presents a comprehensive exploration of synergizing a 3D Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) model and a knowledge graph to enhance the management and usage of the collated videos. Drawing upon widely used textbooks for interpreting training, the current study demonstrates the construction of a knowledge graph (KG) of interpreting knowledge and skills, and utilizes it to navigate the video-sorting process supported by a 3D CNN model. By infusing the video repository with AI, this endeavor may provide students with personalized learning experiences, thus stimulating their learning interests in interpreting. The implications extend to instructors and material designers, providing them with insights about the overview of interpreting education and the roadmap of organizing resources. Lastly, this study is a cross-disciplinary exploration that bridges interpreting training and AI.

This study identified the potential impacts and challenges of initiating an educational program aimed at cultivating students' creativity through computer-Supported Collaborative Learning and Integrated Practical Activity in primary schools in rural areas of China. Based on the data, the authors found that the teacher highly valued student-centered classes with supportive teacher roles, and the program had a positive impact on students' creativity. In particular, the intervention for group work led to significant improvement for two students who were previously underperforming. However, there were also social factors that acted as barriers to the teacher's professional development in fostering children's creativity through Integrated Practical Activities.

Expanding upon the potential of generative machine learning to create atemporal latent space representations of musical-theoretical and cognitive interest, we delve into their explainability by formulating and testing hypotheses on their alignment with DFT phase spaces from {0, 1}(12) pitch classes and {0, 1}(128) pitch distributions - capturing common-tone tonal functional harmony and parsimonious voice-leading principles, respectively. We use 371 J.S. Bach chorales as a benchmark to train a Variational Autoencoder on a representative piano roll encoding. The Spearman rank correlation between the latent space and the two before-mentioned DFT phase spaces exhibits a robust rank association of approximately .65 +/- .05 for pitch classes and .61 +/- .05 for pitch distributions, denoting an effective preservation of harmonic functional clusters per region and parsimonious voice-leading. Furthermore, our analysis prompts essential inquiries about the stylistic characteristics inferred from the rank deviations to the DFT phase space and the balance between the two DFT phase spaces.

The European Digital Strategy is crucial for understanding data sharing within Europe and globally. The surge in data flow across sectors brings challenges in data quality, security, and trustworthiness, necessitating interoperability, cooperation, and control within data spaces. New legal and technological questions which occur when designing the Digital Twins are relevant given the novelty of such digital spaces. The paper analyzes the European legislative landscape on data governance, highlighting approaches to controlling data circulation. Legal frameworks emphasize stakeholder roles, while recent methods address data handling, tools, and infrastructures. The study delves into the practical implementation of regulations across enterprises and stakeholders, highlighting the challenges and ambiguities within data governance provisions. The study concludes by emphasizing the EU's efforts to establish a sustainable model for European market growth and data circulation. By harmonizing regulatory frameworks with data sharing procedures, the EU aims to promote market competition and safeguard common European values. However, challenges persist in implementing the EDS, with ambiguous terminology and lacking interpretations from European Courts.

This paper investigates the design strategies to optimize the interaction between elderly users and intelligent products. This study identifies the obstacles hindering seniors from effectively utilizing such products by employing qualitative and quantitative methodologies. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is employed to construct an objective decision model and evaluation framework, which assesses the impact of different interaction barriers on the elderly's ability to utilize intelligent products. Based on the findings, a design strategy is formulated to enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of these products. The utilization of AHP mitigates the subjectivity inherent in the design process, particularly in addressing the diverse barriers impeding the use of intelligent products. Furthermore, it facilitates the development of an inclusive design strategy. In conclusion, this paper highlights the application of AHP in designing intelligent products for the elderly and its contribution to fostering accessible and interactive experiences, thereby offering valuable insights for future research in product design within related domains.

In the context of increasing digitization and aging population, the medical information service platform influences the experience of the elderly during medical treatment. This study aims to improve the age-friendly medical process by optimizing the AI-driven Voice User Interface (VUI) service platform. By introducing the Field Dynamic Theory, we analyzed the behavior of the elderly in the medical field from a systemic perspective. Through study interviews on medical pain points, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used to calculate the top three weighted needs that urgently need to be addressed. We refined three platform functionalities: efficient interaction guidance, personalized pre-diagnosis and empathetic medical accompaniment. The platform establishes a framework through guided flow, interaction flow, and feedback flow, implemented with using Medical GPT-based Voice User Interface (VUI). This study is applied from online to offline VUI service touchpoints, achieved the linkage from homes to hospitals and from front-end to back-end. This study constructs a AI-driven sustainable iterative medical process service platform to enhance the medical efficiency and experience of the elderly, providing strategies and references for building an age-friendly voice medical information service platform.

In the last few years, the world population has been suffering from different forms of disasters such as natural, psychological and health (well-being), that are provoking a continuous status of (also emotional) emergency. The resilience of the population in history allowed the development of humanity up to the present day. In this paper, we present how the involvement of citizens in the policymaking process is an added value that helps to enhance emergency resilience during disaster risk management. This approach has been adopted in the DECIDO 101004605 project that aims to support the policy makers in the creation of data-driven policies along with the support of the citizens and the stakeholders, involved in the policy life cycle. The focus of this paper is the policy co-creation approach adopted in two of the cities involved in the project, the City of Turin (Italy) and the City of Kajaani (Finland). The concept of social hackathon was introduced, fostering innovation and inclusive policy solutions through interdisciplinary collaboration, and incorporating diverse viewpoints of various stakeholders.

MedDbriefer is a web based ITS designed to enable healthcare students to do clinical scenarios anytime, anywhere. While one student "voice treats" a scenario's patient(s) as the leader of a mock Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team, a peer records the team's actions by using the system's checklists, on a tablet. When the scenario ends, MedDbriefer analyzes the event log and generates a debriefing. MedDbriefer also provides a platform for research on simulationbased training. This paper describes how the system's debriefing engine could be extended to deliver feedback during a scenario, as well as afterwards. MedDbriefer could then be used to compare the effectiveness of different ways of timing feedback delivery in computer-based simulation systems.

The digitalization of the modern society has made many organizations susceptible to cybercrime through exploitations of software vulnerabilities. The popular web servers Apache HTTP and Nginx make up around 65% of the market for web server software and power the majority of all websites on the internet. Vulnerabilities that occur in these two software programs therefore pose a significant risk to the millions of users. This paper maps the most common vulnerability types in these web servers by retrieving, filtering, and analyzing information related to around 195,000 reported vulnerabilities. The results not only show that 5 vulnerability types according to the NIST classification, namely CWE-20, CWE-200, CWE-22, CWE-79, and CWE-787, account for almost 25% of all reported vulnerabilities in Apache HTTP and Nginx, but also that these vulnerability types are commonly found in other web software as well. The outcomes of this study are useful for constructing proof-of-concept insecurity demonstrations and for applying in awareness exercises and cybersecurity education.
