In the last two years, thanks to the advent of generative AI, new avenues are opening up in its use in the educational field, e.g. through the use of ChatGPT. But, while generative AI is opening up new avenues for both teaching and learning, there are no proposals for its use in the context of students with Dyslexia and in general for students with Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), that afflict between 10 and 15 percent of people worldwide. In this paper we present AI4LA, a web intelligent chatbot based on generative AI, with the aim to help dyslexic students during their learning process. This system is capable of analyzing conversational data to model students' understandings and misconceptions, thereby offering personalized educational support. Significantly, we highlight the chatbot's ability to create Concept Maps from conversations, visually representing the student's knowledge structure and progression. An evaluation of the effectiveness of the system is presented, in a realworld educational settings, based on feedback from a sample of dyslexic students. The findings suggest that our system holds great promise in revolutionizing the way dyslexic students engage with educational content, making learning more accessible, interactive, and effective.

With the rapid development of information technology, an increasing number of student learning activities are taking place in online environments. Analyzing online learning behavior data can further improve teaching and assessment methods, enhance learning outcomes, and promote independent learning. However, it is a challenge for teachers to evaluate learning status and academic performance of each student through online learning systems. This study aimed to explore an efficient method for assessing student academic performance. A performance prediction method combined prior knowledge and deep learning models was proposed. Before putting learning behavior data into deep learning models, a weight matrix for learning behaviors was reconstructed. And the learning behavior features derived from this weight matrix along with the raw learning behavior data were imported into a custom Dense layer network. Additionally, an attention mechanism was incorporated into the model to improve model prediction accuracy. Experimental results showed that this method could effectively predict academic performance, identify high-risk students who may need assistance and improve the quality of online teaching.

In this study, we developed a robot that encourages multi-party human conversations and helps participants to deal with silences. We consider three types of robot behavior, i.e., (1) encouraging talk by specific individuals (the you condition), (2) encouraging talk by all participants (the all-of-you condition), and (3) promoting talk among us (the we condition). We evaluated whether the robot elicits participant's attitudes of working together toward one purpose by both conversational analysis and a five-point scale question. In this paper, we revealed that the robot elicits participant's playful, cooperative, and pondering behaviors appropriate to different circumstance in silence and will contribute to design conversation enhance robot's behaviors that enable participants to break silence and keep conversations going.

Integration of digital technology in the learning environment is met with a multitude of barriers that need to be overcome prior to harnessing the complete array of potential advantages for teaching and learning. While many studies have explored the extrinsic (institutional context) and intrinsic barriers (beliefs and attitudes) from a teachers' perspective, respectively, the relationship between both is underexposed in research. In this study, data collected using an adapted version of the SELFIE questionnaire was used to cluster teachers' responses (n = 269) and identify different profiles. K-means clustering was applied, followed by a multinomial regression analysis, to explore the relationship between the clusters and demographic predictors. The results reveal three meaningful clusters that can be explained by internal drivers (engagement based on attitudes) and external drivers (perceived support). Cluster 1 shows high engagement towards using technology and is positive about support. Cluster 2 shows low engagement towards technology use and expresses mediocre support. Cluster 3 also expresses mediocre support, like the second group, however, their engagement is as high as the first. The cluster groups are associated with teachers' innovation profile, confidence, and the school they work at. Differentiating between teachers based on internal and external drivers appears relevant and is recommended as a good practice to address teachers' needs within the digital transformation of a school organization.

Scaling blockchain protocols to perform on par with the expected needs of Web3.0 has been proven to be a challenging task with almost a decade of research. In the forefront of the current solution is the idea of separating the execution of the updates encoded in a block from the ordering of blocks. In order to achieve this, a new class of protocols called rollups has emerged. Rollups have as input a total ordering of valid and invalid transactions and as output a new valid state-transition. If we study rollups from a distributed computing perspective, we uncover that rollups take as input the output of a Byzantine Atomic Broadcast (BAB) protocol and convert it to a State Machine Replication (SMR) protocol. BAB and SMR, however, are considered equivalent as far as distributed computing is concerned and a solution to one can easily be retrofitted to solve the other simply by adding/removing an execution step before the validation of the input. This "easy" step of retrofitting an atomic broadcast solution to implement an SMR has, however, been overlooked in practice. In this paper, we formalize the problem and show that after BAB is solved, traditional impossibility results for consensus no longer apply towards an SMR. Leveraging this we propose a distributed execution protocol that allows reduced execution and storage cost per executor (O(log(2)n/n)) without relaxing the network assumptions of the underlying BAB protocol and providing censorship-resistance. Finally, we propose efficient non-interactive light client constructions that leverage our efficient execution protocols and do not require any synchrony assumptions or expensive ZK-proofs.

As a visual expression tool for service concept models, Service Blueprint directly affect the efficiency and sharing level of multi-party cooperation in service design, service management, and service deliver. Based on the research and analysis of multiple cases, this article provides an optimized service design innovation framework: 1) Using digital transformation to standardize Service Blueprint tools;2) In the digital Service Blueprint, a universal component library and business middle platform (which calledMiddle-stage) are constructed based on atomic design theory to achieve the reuse of service components, thereby improving the collaborative efficiency and resource utilization of service design, achieving consistency in service experience, and improving service quality.

The rapid development of digital technology has gradually expanded its application in the field of children's education, providing new perspectives for the deep integration of technology and aesthetic education. This research aims to explore the application of digital technology in museum-based aesthetic education for children, intending to leverage advanced technology to offer children a more enriching, interactive, and inspirational learning experience. Firstly, the paper delineates the current application status of digital technology in the Chinese educational landscape and analyzes the challenges faced by museum-based aesthetic education for children. Secondly, through empirical case studies, it summarizes the evolution of children's aesthetic education exhibitions from traditional multimedia installations dominated by images and sound towards more innovative applications of digital technology. This includes cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and augmented reality, creating a more immersive, interactive, and educationally meaningful learning environment for children. This approach effectively stimulates children's interest in art and culture, promoting in-depth learning. In conclusion, this paper summarizes the instructional effects of digital technology in museum-based aesthetic education for children, discussing its feasibility as a beneficial supplement to traditional aesthetic education-methods. The application of digital technology not only encompasses artistic creation, technological experiences, and scientific knowledge, but also integrates the essence of Chinese culture and world civilization. This holds profound significance and guiding influence in enhancing children's understanding of concepts such as sustainable development, environmental protection, cultural transmission, and the shared destiny of humanity.

This paper shows howa tool that explore future possibilities, ReadySetFuture_, helped a major automotive maker understand how shifts in consumer values may impact the features and use cases that surprise and delight future vehicle consumers in the year 2033. It contrasts two common mindsets when thinking about the future: a there is no alternative (TINA) mindset and a there are many alternatives (TAMA) mindset. The future contains numerous alternatives and possibilities, ripe for exploration and proactive planning. ReadySetFuture_ was included in a series of workshops to cultivate a heightened sense of curiosity about future possibilities. The paper examines the planning and development stages of ReadySetFuture_ and highlights key findings that demonstrates how the tool enhances users' curiosity. The paper details the design, development, and testing processes, emphasizing its approaches to evoke curiosity. Additionally, it discusses the strategic integration of various curiosity-invoking techniques, which contributes to a more extensive approach to futures thinking. The game's success in generating over 100 scenarios across workshops highlights its effectiveness in encouraging participants to explore diverse perspectives on potential futures.

In today's digital world, children are encouraged to develop a significant part of their daily lives by online means. Age assurance solutions have become essential tools to ensure the protection of their fundamental rights. This is reflected in different regulatory frameworks, strategies, codes, and recommendations concerning children's protection and a safer Internet. These solutions estimate or verify users' ages, allowing for the establishment of age restrictions for content, services, and goods. However, the intersection of safety and privacy within this field poses significant challenges, not only for children but for all Internet users. This research explores the privacy and data protection implications of age assurance, analyzing existing solutions and proposing a comprehensive privacy threat model. The threat model developed in this paper can be widely applied to improve the design and implementation of current solutions, policy and guidelines formulation, and awareness initiatives about age assurance challenges. By balancing adequate age assurance with robust and compliant data protection, we can create a digital environment for everyone that guarantees the protection of fundamental rights.
