The rotary tiller is a plowing and cultivating machine that completes plowing and harrowing operations with the tractor. It has been widely used because of its strong soil breaking capacity and flat surface after plowing. The rotary tiller in the existing technical solution does not allow the user to monitor the size of the tillage depth in real time. Determining the quality of the tillage requires the laborer to go out into the field and use a measuring tool to measure the depth of the tillage and to collect records at multiple points to determine whether the quality of the tillage meets the agronomic requirements. This detection method is cumbersome and labor-intensive in the measurement process. To this end, a tillage depth monitoring device for tillage machines with low manufacturing cost and low maintenance cost is designed. The tillage depth monitoring device comprises: a movable member, rotatably disposed on the tiller;an indicating device for indicating the tillage depth of the tiller;a connecting member for connecting the indicating device with the movable member;a pressure device, disposed on the rotary tiller for converging the movable member towards and against the ground;and a resetting member, disposed on the indicating device for resetting the indicating device;On this basis, the design scheme is used for prototype trial production and its corresponding performance test, the test results show that: the design scheme proposed in this paper can effectively solve the problem of real-time monitoring of the depth of cultivation, and the structure is simple, the later maintenance cost is low, has a good value of market promotion and application.

This study aims to assess and rank the effectiveness of 3D reconstruction, parametric design, and generative design in creating cost-effective, timely, and clinically appropriate bone plates for proximal tibia fractures. Additive manufacturing (AM) now enables customized bone plates, enhancing treatment efficacy and reducing long-term complications. However, challenges such as prolonged design processes, compatibility issues, and high costs persist, making it crucial to compare design approaches to identify the most effective method for patient-specific bone plates. To accomplish the evaluation, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) adopted with eleven design criteria, i.e., the adaptability, load capacity, manufacturability, design cost and speed, installation ease, durability, anatomical conformance, patient comfort, customization, and lightweight design was utilized to access these three design approaches. Specifically, finite element analysis (FEA) was used to support the load capacity criteria comparison by providing stress distribution for each design. The FEA results revealed that the 3D reconstructed plate exhibited the lowest stress at 256.7 MPa, while the generative and parametric designs registered higher stresses of 755.3 MPa and 363.4 MPa, respectively. The parametric design was identified as the optimal method with a score of 0.444, compared to 0.359 for 3D reconstruction and 0.197 for generative design. This ensures that patient care is optimized through the use of custom-tailored implants that are both effective and efficient.

The fungal pathogen Candida albicans (C. albicans) is particularly problematic for immunocompromised patients and those with medical implants. Introducing Candida-resistant medical devices could potentially reduce mortality rates from such infections. Here, we develop the use of high throughput screening (HTS) methodology that can thoroughly and effectively screen a large number of methacrylate and acrylate monomers for their resistance to attachment by C. albicans. In this work, we demonstrate the method using nine selected methacrylate and acrylate monomers and specifically discuss the method developed for UV-curing based 3D printing (3DP) processes, focusing on inkjet printing. The HTS process considers the viscosity and surface tension of monomers for their printing performance, the resulting mechanical properties of its polymer, resistance to fungal attachment, and polymer toxicity towards C. albicans after inkjet printing. This HTS technique accelerates the evaluation and development of polymers with fungal anti-attachment properties for both medical and 3DP fields. Out of the nine polymers demonstrated, 4-tert-butylcyclohexyl acrylate (TBCHA), 4-tert-butylcyclohexyl methacrylate (TBCHMA) were both new fungal anti-attachment materials that were found to be printable using this methodology.

Sentiment analysis, an increasingly vital field in both academia and industry, plays a pivotal role in machine learning applications, particularly on social media platforms like Reddit. However, the efficacy of sentiment analysis models is hindered by the lack of expansive and fine-grained emotion datasets. To address this gap, our study leverages the GoEmotions dataset, comprising a diverse range of emotions, to evaluate sentiment analysismethods across a substantial corpus of 58,000 comments. Distinguished from prior studies by the Google team, which limited their analysis to only two models, our research expands the scope by evaluating a diverse array of models. We investigate the performance of traditional classifiers such as Naive Bayes and Support Vector machines (SVM), as well as state-of-the-art transformer-based models including BERT, RoBERTa, and GPT. Furthermore, our evaluation criteria extend beyond accuracy to encompass nuanced assessments, including hierarchical classification based on varying levels of granularity in emotion categorization. Additionally, considerations such as computational efficiency are incorporated to provide a comprehensive evaluation framework. Our findings reveal that the RoBERTa model consistently outperforms the baseline models, demonstrating superior accuracy in fine-grained sentiment classification tasks. This underscores the substantial potential and significance of the RoBERTa model in advancing sentiment analysis capabilities.

The optimization of structural parameters is crucial to achieve enhanced performance and efficiency in the composite wing. Nowadays, the neural network algorithm offers a promising approach for capturing intricate relationships within the complex design space. This paper introduces an optimization design method for the guidance of the high-aspect-ratio composite wing based on neural network and genetic algorithm. Based on a typical configuration of composite wing, eight internal structure layouts are considered during optimization for maximizing the strength-to-weight ratio. A two-stage optimization method is proposed with different machine learning methods to assess the predictive efficacy concerning the failure load and weight of a composite wing. The response surface model established by the back-propagation (BP) neural network shows the highest prediction accuracy of 94%. The stress analysis shows that the double back C-beam structure obtains the highest loading efficiency, which is selected as the layout scheme in subsequent optimization. The developed response surfaces, integrated with conventional constraints, constitute an objective function for a design optimization model through genetic algorithms. The optimization process focuses on the positioning of the web, along with the thickness and stacking sequence of the upper and lower edge plates, leading edge, and skin. Design optimization instances are examined to validate the constructed framework and demonstrate the reduction in the structural weight of the composite wing. It reveals a significant improvement of 146% in the strength-to-weight ratio, which facilitates an efficient decision-making process in pursuit of superior aerodynamic and structural characteristics.

The aim of this work is to provide a preliminary method for the analysis of the vehicle dynamics effect of the porpoising behaviour in a virtual environment. This phenomenon affects mainly wing-cars under specific running conditions, representing a dangerous condition for drivers' health and vehicle stability, due to the magnitude of the vertical accelerations acting on the car and the oscillations induced on vertical tire forces. The article provides a description of the porpoising effect historical background and dynamical explanation of the phenomenon, followed by the first results of the full-vehicle simulations using an aero map strategy.

This paper presents an approach to designing and fabricating a compact cycloidal gearbox using polymer plastic and 3D printing technology, tailored for robotic arm applications. Cycloidal drives are known for their high transmission ratios, torsional rigidity, and minimal backlash, making them ideal for precise robotic manipulations. The gearbox design incorporates three cycloid gears offset by 120 degrees to balance forces and improve stability. Design parameters were carefully calculated to ensure optimal gearbox performance, with critical components 3D printed using PLA filament on a homemade printer. Testing revealed a maximum torque output of 7.65 Nm, demonstrating the gearbox's robust performance under load. Future enhancements could focus on improving camshaft durability through advanced printing techniques or alternative materials. In conclusion, this 3D printed cycloidal gearbox offers a compelling solution for robotic arms, combining compactness with high torque transmission, low noise operation, and minimal maintenance. Despite assembly challenges, the gearbox's benefits make it a superior choice for demanding robotic applications.

The entry of high-pressure fracturing fluid into the formation during multistage fracturing causes changes in the stress state of the formation near the wellbore, which can easily lead to faults slip around the well. In order to investigate the influence of the design parameters of fracturing section on the probability of fault slip during multistage fracturing, this paper establishes different three-dimensional numerical models to get the pore pressure around the well by presetting the fracture and changing the hydraulic fracture length, fracturing cluster spacing and interval. Then, based on the effect of pore pressure on ground stress, the calculation model of fault slip probability considering the change of pore pressure is derived. Combining the simulation results with the mathematical model, the influence laws of different fracturing segment design parameters on the pore pressure and fault slip probability around the well are analyzed. The research results show that: (1) the longer the hydraulic fracture, the larger the range of high pore pressure zone formed during fracturing, and the probability of fault slip increases;(2) the spacing of fracturing clusters increases, the range of high pore pressure zone formed increases, the pressure between clusters decreases, the pressure between adjacent fracture segments increases, and the probability of slip increases;and (3) the spacing of fracturing segments increases, the range of high pore pressure zone formed increases, the inter-segment connectivity becomes worse, the pressure between adjacent fracture segments decreases, and the probability of slip decreases.

This paper will present and discuss the problems and dilemmas encountered during the realization of the MEHART project. The goal of this project was to document, preserve and make accessible the historical mechanism of the Petrovaradin Clocktower. The project was further expanded to include students studying at the Department of Mechanization and machine Design, at the Faculty of Technical sciences, University of Novi Sad. The project was a success, with the mechanism being documented in the form of a digital 3D model made in SOLIDWORKS, as well as in the form of technical documentation of each part and subassembly. During this process, there were many problems and dilemmas encountered both by the students and by the team of Faculty staff, and both them and their solutions will be discussed in this paper.

This study proposes a novel method for predicting reservoir parameters in carbonate reservoirs, named Fusion Neighborhood Multi - layer Long Short-Term Memory Neural Network (FN-MLSTM). The approach first utilizes Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to extract independent features from well logging data, followed by employing the K-Means algorithm for unsupervised clustering of well groups to optimize their division. Subsequently, by integrating neighborhood information, a Multi-layer Long Short-Term Memory Neural Network (MLSTM) is utilized to accurately predict reservoir parameters. Experimental results demonstrate that on a test set comprising 22 wells in a certain region of southern Sichuan, China, the proposed model outperforms traditional prediction methods such as Long Short-Term Memory Networks (LSTM), Deep Neural Networks (DNN), Extreme Gradient Boosting Trees (XGBoost), and Random Forests (RF) in terms of Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and Coefficient of Determination (R2). Additionally, sensitivity analysis results confirm that integrating neighborhood information effectively enhances prediction accuracy.
