Winding parts of extraction tools (drums, friction wheels, pulleys) are those part of the winding engine by which extraction cable is put to motion together with the extraction vessels. The cable moves along the entire width of the extraction drums' working area, and when they are at the extreme points the for a maximum angle with the perpendicular line dawn from the axis of the drum shafts. This angle is called cable deviation angle on the winding engine drum. Inclination angles of the cables are inclination angles of the extraction cable cords to the horizontal line. Considering the geometrical and cinematic parameters of an extraction installation with the winding engine positioned on the ground, and having as winding part double cylindrical drum, the paper presents the calculus of the mechanical technological loads transmitted to the tower of an extraction installation. These loads are transmitted to the extraction installation tower from the extraction cables through extraction pulley bearings. In the calculation of these loads, reduction of forces in the extraction cables were used at the periphery of the pulleys in the pullet axis bearings.

In this study, numerical simulation and experimental measurements were performed on a seam pipe weld metal to analyze the fracture behavior under working and residual stress conditions. The observed weld metal samples were produced using different welding techniques in order to ascertain the dissimilarities. The tensile properties and fracture toughness of the material were determined experimentally. The measurement of the residual stress in the weld metal was carried out using the incremental hole drilling method. The measurement results were used in numerical analysis. A combination of thermal and structural numerical analysis was used for the fracture stress intensity factor determination. The ANSYS Mechanical software was used to perform numerical simulations based on the finite element method. The basic level of the SINTAP method was used to analyze the structural integrity of seam pipe welds under the influence of primary and secondary stresses.

A person spends more time at work, so it is necessary to strengthen the balance between work and family life. According to the results of the Eurofound foundation and the EU-OSHA agency, 25% of European workers in experience excess work stress. In the long term, the Slovak Republic, as well as many other countries, will experience significant demographic changes that will also lead to changes in the labour market. The gradual ageing of workers will become a key factor. The share of older people in the labour force will increase regardless of the retirement age. In addition, the varying levels of exposure of the workforce to cumulative pathogenic factors operating in the workplace must also be considered. Findings from various studies point to a significant influence of work and working conditions on the occurrence of difficulties in the musculoskeletal system of employees. The need for proper workplace design and its adaptation to human and technological needs is becoming more and more important. Likewise, factors such as workplace adjustment, flexible work organization, adaptation of work organization to older workers or those returning to work after illness. The paper examines the situation in Slovak industrial enterprises from the point of view of the age structure of employees, the degree of their influence by working conditions and risk factors of the work, whether the principles of ergonomics are respected in the solution of workplaces. It also describes the impact of non-compliance with ergonomic principles on the occurrence of difficulties and the health of exposed workers.

As the demand for robust seismic protection in bridge design grows, traditional approaches like ductile seismic design and seismic isolation design are encountering limitations concerning nonlinear deformation and residual displacement. To address these challenges, various low-damage seismic devices have emerged, with low damage braces being widely acknowledged and utilized within the engineering community. Their appeal stems from their strong bearing capacity, well-defined force path, and straight forward replacement process. However, these devices still face challenges related to premature buckling, slacking, or high residual displacement. This paper introduces a novel solution in the form of the friction tension-only brace (FTOB), aimed at mitigating the drawbacks of existing seismic devices during earthquakes while maintaining the overall structure in a low-damage state. The paper begins by elucidating the operational mechanism of the FTOB. Subsequently, it presents a hysteretic model for the FTOB based on analytical principles and elaborates on its behavior. The accuracy of the proposed hysteretic model is then validated against Finite Element Analysis (FEA) numerical results. Finally, the seismic performance of double-column piers is evaluated through nonlinear seismic time-history analysis. The findings reveal that the double diagonal arrangement of FTOB yields the most favorable seismic outcomes, significantly reducing the maximum bending moment, maximum shear force, and maximum displacement by 67%, 67%, and 66%, respectively.

In the rapidly expanding realm of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), safeguarding sensitive data against sophisticated cyber threats has become critical. The complexity of traditional cryptographic solutions often exceeds the limited computational capabilities of IIoT devices. To address this, we propose the Robust 5G Authentication Framework for Industrial IoT (RAFII-RDP), a framework engineered to withstand the unique challenges posed by desynchronization attacks in industrial contexts. Distinguishing itself from contemporary lightweight cryptographic approaches, RAFII-RDP integrates a secure hash function with XOR encryption to significantly reduce cryptographic burdens, making it apt for devices with limited resources. Central to our scheme is the utilization of Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs) to generate distinctive, device-specific signatures that bolster data security while obviating the need for centralized verification systems. Comparative analysis reveals that RAFII-RDP achieves a 34% reduction in memory usage for sensors and a 27% reduction for routers when measured against the Esfahani protocol. Beyond its resilience to state misalignments, our protocol enhances user privacy and data integrity, propelling us toward a more secure and robust IIoT infrastructure.

As a micro-damage test method, scratch tests are employed to extract the plastic and fracture parameters of materials. In this paper, scratch tests of 18CrNiMo7-6 alloy steel were conducted to investigate the effects of scratch velocity and temperature on its scratch responses. Using a scratch model based on linear elastic fracture mechanics, the fracture toughness of 18CrNiMo7-6 alloy steel has been characterized. The effect of temperature and loading rate on the fracture toughness of 18CrNiMo7-6 alloy steel was also explored. The results indicate that the scratch depth, scratch width and tangential force of 18CrNiMo7-6 alloy steel increase with an increase in scratch velocity while increase with temperature. The scratch hardness increases with the scratch velocity while it decreases withtemperature. Fracture toughness increases with increasing loading rate and decreasing temperature. The work of this paper has a certain reference value for the study of fracture toughness of metal materials considering environmental influences.

Due to large project size of hydropower engineering, construction quality inspection is normally conducted by overseeing, with supplementary monitoring and data evaluation when available. With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence in recent years, intelligent technology has been increasingly applied in the practice of engineering construction and inspection. To improve the efficiency and intelligence of construction quality inspection, an intelligent bi-directional verification system based on algorithms, such as ZoeDepth and EDTER, was developed. First, a virtual field of the physical world is generated using the depth estimation approach. Image processing techniques, such as image object recognition and object delineation identification, are used to establish the location, position and posture of actual objects in images as well as measure their dimensions. Second, object-to-object matching is accomplished by aligning the engineering design in BIM models with the objects identified in the images. As a result, image processing models can be calibrated for intelligent object recognition. Object dimensions can then be measured in the virtual field. Corresponding object design information can be retrieved from the BIM model for construction quality examination. Finally, an inspection report is automatically generated and can be synchronized to a comprehensive engineering management platform, when network communication is available. Based on the aforementioned technical framework, a single-person intelligent inspection wearable was developed and tested for technical evaluation. The results indicated that the proposed algorithms can quickly identify construction objects for in-situ comparison with the design in BIM models and the device satisfies the requirement of being simple to wear and operated by one person when perform the engineering inspection.

With the current trend of low product quality of oil and gas resources becoming more and more obvious, deepwater and ultra-deepwater oil and gas have become an important field of oil and gas development in various countries. Deepwater oil and gas reservoirs are characterised by complex geological conditions and a narrow window of safe density, leading to the frequent occurrence of such complications as downhole kicks and overflows, which seriously threaten the lives of engineers and pollute the environment. The prerequisite for dealing with kick is to shut-in, but currently the drilling site shut-in relies on manual operation by multiple engineers, which not only takes a long time to operate, but is also affected by the subjective factors of the engineers. With the maturity of automation and artificial intelligence theory, well control shut-in also needs to develop in the direction of automation and intelligence, and carry out the research of well control automation shut-in system, so that the well can be shut-in quickly, automatically and efficiently when the drilling site kicks, blowouts and other complex situations. In this paper, using statistics and machine vision algorithms, an intelligent identification method of shut-in equipment operation status is established, and at the same time, a well control automated shut-in simulation system is designed based on PLC, and automated shut-in tests are carried out. The results show that the method of intelligent identification of operating status of shut-in equipment can identify the choke opening, the closure of each blowout preventer, and the working status of mud pump and top drive system in real-time without modifying the original equipment, and meanwhile, the well control automated shut-in simulation system can complete the shut-in within 5 min. Wear of the piston-cylinder assembly significantly depends on the quality of lubrication, but the direct cause of that wear is the normal force acting between the piston assembly and the cylinder walls. Therefore, engineers make efforts to reduce the effect of the normal force. One of the possible ways is the introduction of deaxiality in the slider-crank mechanism. This can be done in two ways: by offsetting the piston pin in relation to the cylinder axis or by shifting the crankshaft axis in relation to the cylinder axis. In this paper the research was carried out with the aim to determine to what extent the deaxiality affects the magnitude of the normal force. During the research, ADAMS/View software was used to model the axial and deaxial slider-crank mechanism of an engine. The magnitude and direction of deaxiality were varied, in order to determine how these parameters affect the normal force during one engine cycle.

Zinc and magnesium are known to be biocompatible metals. Through the combination of the two, respectively with copper, they found their application in stents and heart valves for personnel with cardiac problems. As the human body is a network of veins through which the blood circulates, the heart playing the role of a pump, similar to hydraulic networks, through which fluids circulate under pressure, hydrodynamic phenomena occur in the blood circulatory network in which the pressure changes its values. The sudden decrease in pressure, below that of vaporization, followed by a sudden increase leads to cavitation-type manifestations with all the effects known and presented in the literature (shocks, burglaries of veins, etc.). Starting from these constants, the paper presents the results of cavitation tests, carried out on two biocompatible alloys (ZnMg and ZnCuMg) created in the laboratories of the University of Natural sciences and Technology Politehnica Bucharest. Due to the biocompatibility of the three, the objective of the work is a new and future one, that of identifying the best alloy with which to make heart valves, or stents, that can withstand the shocks produced by the implosions of cavitation bubbles in the blood. To this end, the paper contains the results of research on the behavior and resistance to erosion generated by vibrating cavitation, according to the reference standard ASTM G32-2016. The analysis and discussions are based on the characteristic curves and parameters of the structure's behavior and resistance to cavitation, as well as macro_ and on microscopic images of the surface structure destroyed by the cavitational microjets. The results, compared to pure zinc, show that these alloys are solutions for building biocompatible components that can serve cardiac people. The comparative analysis of those two alloys shows that the ZnCuMg alloy has the best resistance to the cyclic stresses of vibratory cavitation.
