Structural synthesis methodologies play an important role through the design of new platform type robot manipulators. Throughout the literature there exist many structural synthesis approaches to reach structural representations of these manipulators, and Alizade's methodology is one of the most versatile procedures within those. Although topology generation rules were well-defined in Alizade's studies, joint distribution procedure was only slightly handled. In light of this, current study proposes five strict rules to be applied during joint distribution phase throughout the design of platform type robot manipulators. Utilizing given procedures kinematic structures of new platform type manipulators with desired constraints can be generated by ensuring all of the elements as legs, hinges, branches, and branch loops contribute to the platform motions.

A new portable device is presented as useful for improving arm mobility in rehabilitation therapies and motion exercising. Design problems together with solutions are discussed to conceive a device that meets operation requirements. The proposed device is designed portable, easily assembled, easy to use by patients in their homes and must provide information to know the evolution of recovery. Low-cost device is designed by using market components and 3D printed parts. Its effectiveness is proven by a prototype tested with basic tests.

With the rapid development of information technology, the value generated by data elements is gradually causing the change of public ideology and the deep adjustment of social structure, which is widely concerned by major countries and regions in the world. At the same time, data security has become an important issue that cannot be ignored in modern society. In this digital age, various forms of data are created, transmitted and stored at an alarming rate, so it is particularly important to protect the security of these data. As an effective means, the standardization of data security has become one of the cornerstones to ensure data security. This paper aims to discuss the current situation and trend of data security standardization. Firstly, we reviewed the background and development of data security and its standardization. Secondly, we sorted out the related technologies of data security, and then we introduced the data security standard system currently being applied in China and analyzed existing data security standardization organizations and published standards. In addition, we listed some key research directions for data security standards in the fields of blockchain, metaverse, artificial intelligence, internet of vehicles, etc. Finally, we discussed the future development trend of data security standardization and put forward some suggestions to further improve the data security standardization system.

The contemporary maritime industry is undergoing a digital transformation while simultaneously adapting its business strategy to the changes in a highly turbulent, even crisis-prone environment. The recent COVID-19 crisis has particularly impacted small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the maritime sector. This paper analyses the business transformation of marinas as examples of small and medium-sized enterprises shifting their focus from gaining competitive advantage to achieving organizational resilience in crisis conditions. The paper provides evidence of the existence of a new so-called hybrid model, highlighting the necessity of all organizational changes in anticipation of the development of the new maritime 4.0 industry. It has been demonstrated that there is a pursuit of cost optimization, the utilization of modern technology to provide high-quality services, and the development of digital media channels for maintaining customer relationships. The originality of this work lies in tracking the dynamics of generic business strategies that change their key characteristics in different business conditions to maintain operational levels and gain resilience to challenges. The paper has theoretical implications as it significantly contributes to reducing the literature gap in maritime industry research while simultaneously aiding managers in proactively dealing with future circumstances brought about by the new 4.0 industry.

This paper examines a key challenge in mold-making for relief clay panels: the issue of heat-induced curling and surface damage caused by dripping molten plastic during the robotic hotwire cutting process. Our study specifically focuses on analyzing how the speed of the hotwire tool influences the look of the mold ridges. The emphasis is placed on the end-effector's velocity pertaining to transition and orientation between the toolpath targets. We hypothesize that the time taken for the tool to travel between two targets is a critical factor, potentially leading to excessive heat buildup in the mold's ridges. By conducting a toolpath evaluation, we aim to determine if the prolonged travel time, rather than just the cutting speed, contributes to the excessive heat that causes edge curling and surface damage on the ridges. This research contributes to the mold-making process for clay panels, as it seeks to identify the speed-related factors that can be adjusted to mitigate these issues. Our findings are expected to provide valuable insights into the quality and precision of molds used for imprinting clay.

Motion planning in non-minimum phase underactuated multibody systems is challenging mainly due to the non-collocation of the control force with respect to desired output and due to the system flexibility. A motion planning method for non-minimum phase underactuated multibody systems based on the inverse dynamics is proposed in this paper. The approach is structured as follows. First, the system is partitioned into actuated and unactuated coordinates. Then, the desired output is described as a non-linear separable function of these coordinates. Since the system is non-minimum phase, output redefinition is exploited to virtually redefine the output displacement in order to stabilize the system internal dynamics. This enables the stable integration of the ODEs describing the evolution of the unactuated coordinates. Finally, the trajectory of the actuated coordinates is obtained through non-linear kinematic inversion. The method is then applied to the case of a spatial overhead crane moving a suspended load. The effectiveness of the method in tracking a spatial trajectory is demonstrated through numerical simulations.

The rotating machineries of automobile, such as gears and motors, are involved with complicated interactions between fluids and structures, resulting in flow phenomenon such as free-surface, moving boundary, thermal conduction etc. Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH), due to its Lagrangian nature, is preferred to simulate such phenomenon. The complexities of automobile structures require small particle distancing and therefore large number of particles are needed to discretize both fluid and structure. The small time step of SPH simulation is also required due to intense flowsplashing resulting from high-speedmoving boundary. Both two points above lead to large amount of computation duringSPHsimulation. In this paper, a parallelism framework of weakly compressible SPH(WCSPH) is proposed to accelerate SPH simulation by high-performance computing cluster. A hybrid parallelism strategy, with both Message Passing Interface (MPI) and Intel Threading Building Blocks (TBB), is used to reduce the total number of processes and therefore reduce the latency due to communication among computing clusters network. METIS is used to decompose the computational domain enabling dynamic domain decomposition and load balancing. The oil motion inside a gearbox is successfully simulated using the proposed framework, showing that the proposed parallelism framework is applicable to complex industry application and can accelerate SPH simulation efficiently.

The paper is a continuation of research dealing with the structural design of handling equipment operating in the amusement industry. The chief objective of the presented paper is the analytical calculation required due to the quantification of the resistances arising from the steady state operation of the proposed device, as well as the resistances resulting from accelerations (or decelerations). Accelerating effects arise when the device is put into operation. These results are crucial inputs for the carried out structural design of the gearset of the pinion gear (as an output from the gearbox) with a large gear (as a drive for the components connected to the passenger units), which is supported by means of functional calculations. The results of the research prove the suitability of the structural material used as well as the structural design itself meeting the condition of assembly. The achieved results will be the basis for further research in the field in question. After determining the utilization of individual components (normative passenger load, mass of the designed passenger unit - gondola, mass of the truss structure carrying the gondola, mass of the oversized hollow shaft with accessories, mass of the selected electric motor with accessories), it will be possible to perform the structural design and strength check of the main beam of the amusement device. The overall expected goal of the ongoing research will be to achieve a condition where the whole structure is safe for all participants in its normal operation.

Ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) has acquired global attention for its exceptional mechanical properties, durability, strength, toughness, and low porosity, making it a highly promising material for various engineering applications. However, despite its numerous advantages, UHPC is susceptible to shrinkage and cracking, which can compromise its overall performance and structural integrity. To address this challenge, the integration of self-healing concrete technology offers a novel solution by incorporating microcapsules into UHPC mixes to facilitate the autonomous healing of micro-cracks. This study aims to merge UHPC technology with self-healing concrete technology by investigating the optimal dosage and mixing process of microcapsules in UHPC formulations. The research seeks to advance the development of UHPC capable of self-healing micro-cracks through comprehensive experimentation and analysis, thus enhancing its long-term durability and structural performance. Preliminary findings suggest that microcapsules containing more than 2% gel material exhibit promising self-healing properties in micro-cracks within UHPC. Furthermore, the study explores the influence of the timing of microcapsule addition during the mixing process on the efficacy of self-healing. It is observed that adding microcapsules after the mortar is mixed yields optimal results, indicating the importance of proper incorporation techniques for achieving desired self-healing capabilities in UHPC. In conclusion, integrating UHPC and self-healing concrete technologies holds significant potential for addressing the challenges associated with micro-cracking in UHPC structures. This research advances our understanding of self-healing mechanisms in concrete materials and underscores the importance of continued exploration in this field to optimize material formulations and validate long-term performance in real-world applications.

During the voyage, the ship will be subjected to complex alternating loads under the influence of seawater. The purpose of this paper is to study the effect of alternating load on the static and dynamic performance of tilting-pad journal bearing (TPJB). Under the given alternating load, the static and dynamic performances of bearing in ideal condition and misalignment state are obtained by numerical methods. The results show that the pressure, temperature, and stiffness of the bearing are greatly affected by the alternating load. Meanwhile, as the degree of misalignment increases, the fluctuation of oil film temperature and oil film stiffness under alternating load is obvious. In this case, bearing instability is easy to occur. This study can provide a reference for the design and reliability analysis of sliding bearings for marine use.
