Tight sandstone reservoirs are distinguished by high compressive strength, low porosity and permeability, and low effective stress coefficient, which contribute to enhanced wellbore stability during drilling. Nevertheless, the rate of penetration is relatively low, and there is a higher likelihood of reservoir damage. The application of underbalanced drilling in tight sandstone reservoirs serves as an effective means of enhancing drilling rate while simultaneously protecting the reservoir. However, if the underbalanced pressure differential is too large, wellbore instability can occur, which may pose a risk to drilling safety. Engineering practice and experimental data have demonstrated that the theoretical calculation results of traditional wellbore collapse pressure underestimate the ability of borehole to remain stable in tight sandstone reservoirs. To ensure the overall stability of the wellbore during the underbalanced drilling process, a new collapse pressure calculation model has been developed through rock mechanics theoretical analysis. This model can serve as the mechanical basis for the design of underbalanced drilling pressure differentials. A horizontal well in a deep tight gas field reservoir, located offshore, was subjected to an analysis. In the normally pressured reservoir section at a true vertical depth of 3633 meters, the minimum drilling fluid density required to maintain wellbore stability is 1.11 g/cm(3), which is not suitable for underbalanced drilling. In the reservoir section with an high pressure at a true vertical depth of 4355 meters and the pressure coefficient of 1.28, the minimum allowable drilling fluid density is 1.16 g/cm(3), which meets the mechanical conditions for implementing underbalanced drilling.

During the use of electronic devices, the thermal cycling experienced can impose enormous alternating stress cycles on the chip adhesive layers, which can accumulate over time to cause fatigue cracks, leading to the failure of the adhesive layers. To accurately and rapidly simulate the effects of thermal cycling on the chip adhesive layers, this paper adopts a parametric simulation-based approach, establishing a set of physical modeling methods for thermal cycle fatigue failure of chip adhesive structures. Through the secondary development function of Abaqus-Python, this study parametrically processes various physical variables that affect the reliability and lifetime of chip adhesive structures, allowing the model to account for changes in different working environments, stress states, and material parameters. This method, which combines numerical simulation technology and parametric modeling, can accurately predict the thermal cycling fatigue failure of chip adhesive layers under various working conditions and stress conditions. By establishing a simulation model that approximates actual working conditions, this method is expected to guide engineering practice, improving the reliability and stability of chip adhesive structures.

Well wall instability during production of bare-hole wells is mainly caused by changes in the perimeter stress state, and the rock damage criterion is a key factor in carrying out the prediction of well wall stability during production of bare-hole wells. Based on multi-axis rock mechanics tests, this paper compares and analyzes Mohr-Coulomb and Mogi-Coulomb prediction results under conventional tri-axial stress and true triaxial rock stress states, and also reveals the influence of intermediate principal stress coefficients and principal stress distribution characteristics on the applicability of rock strength criterion. It is found that the Mohr-Coulomb criterion neglects the influence of intermediate principal stresses, which causes the predicted rock strength values to be larger than the measured values;the prediction accuracy of the Mogi-Coulomb criterion is higher than that of the Mohr-Coulomb criterion in all the tri-axial stress states;the influence of intermediate principal stresses on rock strength prediction cannot be neglected, and the more uniform the distribution of principal stresses, the higher the accuracy of rock strength prediction. The more uniform the distribution of principal stresses, the higher the accuracy of rock strength prediction. This paper demonstrates that the prediction curves of Mogi-Coulomb criterion in conventional stress state also have better applicability in true tri-axial stress space, which promotes the further application of Mogi-Coulomb criterion in engineering applications and lays the foundation for theoretical research on wellbore safety evaluation during the production of drilling and bare borehole wells.

This paper is devoted to solving the direct kinematics of a novel 3-PRPS type parallel manipulator with six-degrees-of-freedom, where P, R, and S are prismatic, revolute and spherical kinematic pairs respectively. The considered parallel manipulator is formed by connecting a moving platform with a fixed platform (base) through three closing kinematic chains of a PRPS type in which the prismatic kinematic pairs are active, and they are located on a fixed platform and legs. The constant and variable parameters of the parallel manipulator characterizing its geometry and kinematics respectively are determined. In the direct kinematics, the positions of the moving platform are determined by the known constant parameters of the links and the given variable parameters of the active kinematic pairs. This problem is reduced to solve the 16th order polynomial equation.

While gradient-based optimization methods are efficient, they rely on function smoothness and initial guesses, prompting the use of gradient-free meta-heuristic algorithms (MAs). On the other hand, MAs face a great challenge as the problem dimensionality increases. In this work, a new approach for high-dimensional single-objective optimization based on unsupervised learning is proposed. By defining both the input and output of the network to be candidate solutions in the same solution space, and the objective function to be the loss, the original optimization problem is transformed into training the network. For representative purposes, the classical metaheuristic Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) and the adaptive moment estimation (Adam) are sequentially used in the training process to take their complementary features in solving the objective function within a low computation budget. Indifferentiable and multimodal functions with 100-dimensional solution spaces are used to test the efficacy of the proposed approach. It is revealed that after GWO training, the network outputs are structured distributions around the global optimum, indicating potential of more significant dimension reduction in higher dimensions and promises in efficiently solving higher-dimensional optimization problems.

This article presents an analysis of the laser micro-perforation process on synthetic leather parts, focusing on the influence of noise (energy) generated during this process on the quality of the final products. The micro-perforation process is essential to meet the requirements for both aesthetic appearance and high-quality functionality in the airbag area. Since the foaming process is a preliminary step to laser processing, ensuring its uniformity becomes crucial for the stability and subsequent laser processing performance. A detailed analysis of the noise (energy) wave during the laser process is highly important because the set parameters must be within strict limits to minimize waste and ensure the quality of manufactured parts. This approach not only optimizes the production process but also ensures that the resulting parts comply with strict quality and safety standards. The results obtained in this study have demonstrated that the laser processing significantly benefits from monitoring and controlling the noise (energy) wave. This ensures that the safety aspect of the produced parts is entirely upheld and protected. This research contributes to improving the manufacturing process and ensures that the resulting products are of high quality, suitable for use in sensitive applications such as automotive airbags.

Resistance spot welding is a worldwide used welding technology that is particularly important for the vehicle industry. The main purpose of my current paper to determine the influence of the changing parameters on the strength of resistance spot welded joints in case of DC03 cold-rolled steel sheets. Parameters like welding current, welding time, electrode force and number of repetitions of welding cycles are the essential parameters which plays a crucial role in resistance spot welding. It is quite demanding to determine applicable welding parameters for different materials. In this paper the tensile shear tests are done and determined how the changing parameters will affect the tensile strength and elongation of the material joined. The results of this paper are very significant for the welding industry. The resistance spot welding technology is widely used in the automotive industry, aerospace industry, household appliances and electric vehicle battery production, therefore technological optimization promotes production efficiency and improves the quality and reliability of manufactured products.

In the coming decades, the automotive industry will undergo significant transformation, driven by the rapid proliferation of electric mobility solutions, including hybrid and electric vehicles. These innovative transportation systems introduce unique challenges pertaining to lubrication and cooling due to their unconventional design. Notably, hybrid vehicle heat engines operate within a lower temperature spectrum compared to traditional combustion engines. This variance poses distinct hurdles for engine oils, which are traditionally engineered for sustained operation at higher temperatures with minimal temperature fluctuations. This article conducts a comparative analysis of lubricant specifications tailored to internal combustion engines and transmission oils specifically designed for hybrid vehicles. The aim is to underscore the distinctive characteristics of these lubricants and emphasize their critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the engine.

For shallow reservoirs, the use of extended-reach well technology is often more efficient. However, due to the shallow vertical depth, large horizontal displacement and large change of borehole curvature, the problem of high friction in casing running is prominent, which makes it difficult to successfully run casing to the target depth. In order to meet the requirements of safe casing running in shallow extended-reach wells, the mechanical model of casing running process and the prediction model of extension limit are established based on the classical model of downhole string stress, considering the influence of friction resistance, borehole bending and casing buckling. The mechanical resistance and extension ability of casing in shallow extended-reach well are analyzed. This paper evaluates the running ability of casing of different sizes in extended-reach wells in Bohai oilfield, and puts forward the safe running countermeasures. The research results can provide theoretical reference for casing running in shallow extended-reach wells.

The article is another part of the current research and overall design of the amusement facility. The main objective of the present paper is the design and strength analysis of the main beam as one of the main components of the equipment working in the amusement industry. The main beam of the amusement equipment is verified by analytical calculations for the required deflection according to EN 13814 standard and checked by numerical method in ANSYS software. On the basis of the calculation scheme and the obtained loading forces concerning the geometry of the beam, the bending moments and shear forces are calculated using the imaginary cut method. RHS 1300 x 500 x 30 rectangular hollow rolled section is selected for the main beam and the beam will be made of S355 J0 material. As the calculated maximum deflection of the main beam of 1.59 cm is less than the calculated allowable deflection according toEN13814 of 1.71 cm, the selected beam profile can be considered suitable for use in the construction of the proposed amusement device. The amount of deflection of the main beam obtained in Ansys software using the finite element method was also smaller compared to the allowable deflection as well as the deflection determined by the analytic method. Thus, the selected main beam is satisfactory and can be utilized for the proposed type of amusement device.
