Webpage segmentation involves segmenting webpages into demarcate segments. Our observation states that relying on the background implementation of the webpage may not improve the accuracy of the segmentation. Instead, using the front end information fully helps the segmentation process fully. In this paper, we propose the use of a visual method in segmenting web pages. This technology is developed to be visually intelligent - to interpret web pages through its visual knowledge rather than the contemporary method of processing information through employing the web pages' back-end implementation. The structure of the visually rendered page is ordered in a hierarchical manner. The proposed technique can also be embedded into other system which can benefit those with visual defects such as the elderly, visual impaired or even individuals with bad eyesight.

During the online transaction of textile products, fabrics' tactile properties were thought to be inaccessible to consumers. Recently, much effort has been made to research the feasibility of providing consumers with a real sense of fabric through a virtual experience. The current paper proposes to study fabric hand from the perspective of visual perception. Two sensory experiments are conducted according to standardized procedures on a set of representative textile fabrics by two panels of trained experts. The first experiment is aimed to measure how much tactile information can be perceived through fabrics' visual displays. On the basis of the positive results obtained, the second experiment is carried out to further investigate the interactive mechanism between samples' visual features and their tactile properties. An intelligent method based on rough sets theory and fuzzy sets theory is proposed in order to measure the mathematical correlation between different sensory information.

This highlights the importance of sentiment analysis done upon the extracted data. Today, statistics have shown significantly that most opinions can be obtained via many social media platforms. Social media has provided a convenient platform for web users to comfortably share their thoughts and to boldly voice up. Having to process such huge amount of data, it is proposed that automated sentiment analysis is done when extracting social media data. Knowledge acquisition and modeling of the garment design plays an important role in the design support system of garment product development process. In this paper, a technical route of the knowledge acquisition and modeling in the garment design is proposed. Firstly, the knowledge at different levels from people, involving in fashion industry (fashion designers, customers and pattern designers), is classified into different knowledge bases. Then, different knowledge bases are defined according to different design spaces (Fashion design knowledge base, Garment design knowledge base, Pattern design knowledge base, Production design knowledge base and Successful design case knowledge) they are supporting, from which a unique design space, which permits to the interaction of fashion designers (design route), customers (requirements and needs) and pattern designers (technical solution) can be modeled. The different knowledge bases provide support and reference to the different design processes. Different technical solutions such as fuzzy logic, ontology and data fusion, for knowledge acquisition and modeling are discussed according to the nature of the knowledge bases of different design spaces.

Competitive technical intelligence (CTI) tries to identify key technology, current R&D emphases, and key players for intellectual and policy reasons in academia and industry. Many researches apply Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) to CTI mining based on the assumptions of "bag-of-words", "bag-of-n-grams" or "bag-of-phrases", which produce the topics at words/phrases level. However, technological words/phrases are not enough to explore problem & solution patterns hidden in technological documents, which are the most important technology intelligence for solution-oriented CTI mining. In this paper, we propose a Subject-Action-Object (SAO)-based LDA model to identify underlying topics represented by related SAOs and explore the problem & solution patterns embodied in SAO structures. SAO-Based LDA model is built based on the "bag-of-SAO" assumption and perform technology analysis at concept level. The validity and feasibility of the proposed method are tested by a case study in the Graphene technology.

We introduce a novel approach where a solution of the fuzzy boundary value problem is defined as a fuzzy relation.
