摘要:
Linguistic evidence indicates that all the aborigines arrived in Taiwan simultaneously as a single group rather than in separate waves of migration. The main linguistic evidence is that most Formosan languages reflect Proto-Austronesian *S as a sibilant, while all extra-Formosan languages reflect it as an h or zero. In addition, most Formosan languages distinguish two types of *t and two types of *N, while in all extra-Formosan languages there is no such distinction.
