摘 要:Free nitrous acid (FNA) inhibition restricted the ammonia removal efficiency of bioreactors under a medium or high inlet ammonia loading, mainly by inhibiting nitrite-oxidizing bacteria (NOB) and ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB). Three parallel ammonia removal biofilters with different inoculums were set in this study. When increasing the inlet ammonia loading rate to 21.8 ± 1.3 gN m-3 h-1, biofilters could merely remove 60.3 ± 10.0% of inlet ammonia since FNA inhibition became the main inhibitor of nitrifiers, due to the accumulation of intermediate products including NO2- and H+.
