摘      要:Highlights•The oral microbiome is crucial for adults with systemic diseases such as diabetes, Alzheimer s, cardiovascular disorders. •There is an association between the oral microbiome and frailty in older patients. •There is a bidirectional relationship between the oral microbiome and ageing, since older adults experience a shift in the composition of the microbiome, whereas those bacteria promote ageing of the individual.
