摘      要:The Synchrophasor Technology is more precise than traditional measuring systems, and it must be installed in the power system to ensure wide-area monitoring. The disadvantages of a phasor measurement system include the high cost of the equipment and installation. PMUs are primarily utilized in power systems due to their high reporting rate, synchronized measurement, and capacity to observe adjacent buses. With optimal placement, PMUs allow for the acquisition of enough information to make the power system observable with a minimum total cost. The optimization problem that tries to determine the optimal placement of PMUs can be solved using both deterministic and metaheuristic algorithms. © 2024, Politechnica University of Bucharest.
