摘 要:Tomb M21 on the Wanfabozi site is a subrectangular earth pit, measuring 16.7m in length and 2.5m in width for the opening and 16.5m and 2.3m respectively for the bottom. It is a multiple burial, containing 35 human skeletons, mostly in a limb-flexed supine position, with the arms crossed on the chest, the legs also crossed, and the knees tending to one side, which form the strong distinctive features of the burial custom. The skeletons fall into three groups differing in age, the adults and babies accounting for the overwhelming majority. Among the funeral objects are pottery vessels, stone implements and bone artifacts, the first class of article occurring largely in the jar, pot and bo bowl combination or the jar and pot set. The tomb belongs to the Yaojin Ⅲ culture represented by Wanfabozi Ⅲ and dates from the time corresponding to the Spring-and-Autumn and Warring States period.
