摘 要:1. 1. Aerobic and anaerobic glucose degradation was investigated in intact specimens of the estuarine sea anemone, Diadumene leucolena. 2. 2. The aerobic degradation of [U-14C]glucose resulted in radioactivity in Krebs cycle intermediates and in five amino acids (alanine, serine, glycine, aspartate and glutamate). Radioactive carbon dioxide accounted for 50% of the glucose degraded. 3. 3. Anaerobiosis resulted in decreased 14CO2 production and enhanced labelling of succinate with no change in radioactivity in lactate. 4. 4. It is suggested that short-term anaerobiosis results in diminished oxidative metabolism in Diadumene, concomitant with an activation of anaerobic glycolysis. © 1977.
