摘      要：Economic analysis at South African Petroleum Refineries (Pty) Ltd. s refinery in Durban, South Africa revealed costs savings of $1.5 million in 1 year, directly attributable to the use of an advanced blend-scheduling decision-support tool called MPMP (Multi-Period, Multi-Product). MPMP was developed by Shell Global Solutions International. The program optimizes refinery operations from the point at which rundown streams arrive from various process units for product blending. The optimization process is described. The program can be used on-line and off-line.
