摘      要:Considers the capabilities and limitations of currently available programs for tubing string analysis. These are generally based on the equations and principles of Lubinski, Althouse, and Logan and later extended by Hammerlindl. Advancing from single-string analysis to multiple strings using the same formulae and applying the principle of superposition can create errors. Buoyancy effects and helical buckling, in particular, are considered. A more advanced program has been developed which can address multiple completions of up to three stacked packers and tapered tubing strings with up to three different tubing and casing sizes per section.
