摘 要:Postoperative atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common complication after heart surgery with a reported incidence of, on average, about 35%.1-5 Despite improvements in the overall cardiac surgical process, the incidence of postoperative AF has remained unchanged. Although there has been no clear causal link to increased morbidity, postoperative AF has been temporally associated with an increased risk of stroke, ventricular arrhythmias, worsened cardiac function, and the need for a permanent pacemaker.3,6 In addition to the potential excess morbidity, postoperative AF has generally been associated with increased cost and resource utilization predominantly through an increased hospital length of stay.3-5
