摘      要：A variational method is presented by which the distributed capacitance of microstrip having finite strip thickness may be calculated. Approximate charge distributions are assumed on the sides as well as the top and bottom of the strip. The relative magnitudes of these distributions are adjusted to give an optimum result. A heuristic approximation used previously is shown to be rather inaccurate.
