摘      要：Acoustic prosodic information about syntactic boundaries was incorporated into two different types of speech understanding systems. This paper presents a brief outline of English prosodies and then reports the effect on system performance of using prosodic information. Issues of overall system design which effect the implementation of prosodic rules are discussed.
