Finmeccanica wins Turkish contract for ASW aircraft

摘      要：Finmeccanica of Rome, Italy, has signed a EUR180 million contract with Turkey for 10 ATR 72 anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft. Turkish companies are expected to gain work modifying the aircraft, integrating the mission system and supplying subsystems and components. Negotiations began in January 2005 following selection of the ATR 72 by the Turkish Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM). The ATR was chosen for the Turkish Project Meltem 3 requirement for an intermediate maritime patrol and ASW aircraft.
