Objective To survey the conditions of the motor function of upper limbs improvement and cerebral functional reorganization after the constraint-in- duced therapy (CIMT therapy or CIT) in cerebral stroke *** 10 cerebral stroke patients received 5h/d enhanced CIMT therapy and 8h/d re- strained activities of upper limbs on healthy side for 3 *** and after CIMT therapy,the flexibility of their upper limbs on affected side was assessed through WMFT,the daily use of their affected limbs was assessed through MAL,and the conditions of their cerebral functional reorganization were assessed through fMRI *** Under WMFT and MAL examination, the functional score and time score of WMFT and the quantity score and quality score of MAL were significantly different before and after CIMT therapy (P<0. 01).Under fMRI examination,just scattered activation points existed only on focal side before CIMT therapy,and the range of activation area increased and the stimulation intensity enhanced after CIMT therapy;both activation volume and stimulation intensity in primary sensorimotor area were significantly different before and after CIMT therapy (P<0.01);primary sensorimotor area on focal side was still the main cortical innervation area of movement at af- fected side after cerebral injury;the activation area increased and adjusted, and both auxiliary movement area and premotor area were main cortical compen- satory area after CIMT *** CIMT therapy could significantly improve the movement ability and daily use of upper limbs on affected side, and promote cerebral functional reorganization.
