Objective It has been reported that depressive symptoms may evolve as a consequence of aberrations within discrete brain functional *** further help our understanding of the abnormalities of networks,we explore the interaction of resting-state networks in major depression. Methods Twenty patients with major depressive disorder and 20 matched healthy controls were scanned with MR Scanner(Siemens,3.0 Tesla).Resting-state functional MRI data were acquired with gradient-echo EPI sequence,and high resolution T1-weighted structural images were used for coregistration of function *** data were preprocessed by spm8,including slice-timing,motion correction,spatial normalization,and spatial *** preprocessed data were further input to the Group ICA of functional MRI Toolbox *** resting-state networks of the extracted 20 components were selected by a network template matching *** connectivity between networks was computed and the statistical analysis was conducted to explore the abnormality of network connectivity in major depressive disorder. Results The selected networks were the left and right fronto-parietal network,the anterior and posterior default mode network,the lateral and primary visual network,the cerebellum network, the salience network,the auditory network,the ventral medial prefrontal network and the fronto-temporal *** contrast with healthy controls,the patients with major depressive disorder exhibited significantly decreased connectivity between the cerebellum network and the lateral visual network(p = 0.042),however,increased connectivity between the cerebellum network and the posterior default mode network(p = 0.046),and increased connectivity between the fronto-temporal network and the right fronto-parietal network(p = 0.025). Objective In contrast to antipsychotic-induced extrapyramidal side effects,the data are still limited on add-on medications to counteract antipsychotic-induced metabolic side effects in the treatment of *** therefore carried out a systematic review and meta-analysis to synthesize the evidence on the management of metabolic adverse effects using concomitant drugs. Methods The following terms were included in a systematic search of EMBASE,MEDLINE, PubMED,PsycINFO and the Cochrane Library:"(schizophrenia) AND(adjunctive OR augmentation OR combination OR polypharmacy OR polytherapy) AND(diabetes OR dyslipidemia OR metabolic OR obesity OR weight gain)"(last search:June 2013).Studies were included if(1) they were double-blind placebo-controlled trials,(2) the majority of subjects had a diagnosis of schizophrenia or related psychotic disorders,and(3) they reported on the reduction of antipsychotic-induced metabolic adverse effects using concomitant drugs as a primary ***-referencing of the identified articles was performed,and corresponding authors were contacted for missing ***-analyses were performed to synthesize the data with the primary outcome being changes in body weight. Objective Mirtazapine,an antagonist for centralα2-adrenergic autoreceptors and heteroreceptors,and postsynaptic 5-hydroxytryptamine2(5-HT2) and 5-HT3 receptors,achieves its unique therapeutic effect by enhancing noradrenaline and serotonin release,and is effective for the treatment of various anxiety disorders,in addition to depressive *** preclinical and clinical studies have shown that mirtazapine exerts anxiolytic action,its precise brain target sites remain *** has been mainly used in the treatment of bipolar disorder,but recently,evidence from animal and clinical studies has shown that lithium has an effect on monoamine systems to potentiate the antidepressant action of tricyclic antidepressants, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and serotonin-noradrenaline reuptake ***, few studies have investigated the effect of lithium with *** studies have shown that both lithium and mirtazapine influence serotonergic systems and *** suggest the possibility that the combination of lithium and mirtazapine may have better efficacies for anxiety disorders. Methods By using contextual fear conditioning test in rats,an animal model of anxiety,we investigated the effects of mirtazapine microinjection into the MRN,hippocampus and amygdala. Furthermore,we examined the effect of subchronic lithium(for 1 week in food) in combination with systemic mirtazapine treatment(i.p.) and local injection of mirtazapine into the median raphe nucleus,hippocampus and amygdala on the expression of contextual conditioned fear. Freezing behavior induced by conditioned fear was analyzed as an index of fear. Objective LncRNAs play important roles in multiple physiological processes that involve gene regulation.A number of studies suggest they are aberrantly expressed in some neurodegenerative and psychiatric *** this study,we first identify genome-wide lncRNAs expression profiles and mRNAs that are up- or down-regulated in major depressive disorder(MDD) by microarray in peripheral blood leukocyte,and the gene-lncRNA-coexpression networks is set up to determine interactions among genes and lncRNAs co-expression. Method This study recruited a total of 12 MDD patients and 12 coupled healthy control.10 ml peripheral blood was obtained and total RNA was isolated,Arrystar company LncRNAs chip was applied to scan expression of 51513 lncRNAs and 35123 mRNAs,microarray technology and clustering analysis were applied to detect the differences between groups. Gene-lncRNA-co-expression networks were built according to the normalized signal intensity of specific expressed ***-lncRNA-coexpression networks were built according to the normalized signal intensity of specific expressed *** the network analysis,a degree is the simplest,most important measure of the centrality of a gene within a network and determines the relative importance. Results From the data we found there were 2006 IncRNAs and 3320 mRNAs that differentially expressed(P< 0.05) in MDD compared with *** with controls,440 lncRNAs down-regulated and 1566 ones up-regulated,1567 IncRNAs down-regulated and 1753 ones up-regulated in *** with previous researches in human cancer,our data showed that up-regulated IncRNAs were more common than down-regulated ones. Objective Repetitive hospitalization is a clinical feature for most mental illness, including *** patients with multiple hospitalizations for schizophrenia have been found to differ from those with fewer,it remains unclear whether differences exist in illness awareness or therapeutic *** this study,we recruited schizophrenic inpatients in a large psychiatric hospital in south China to examine the differences of clinical symptom,insight and treatment compliance between first and multiple hospitalized schizophrenic patients. Method Total of 253 schizophrenic inpatients admitted into Guangzhou Psychiatric Hospital (GPH) between July 1,2012 to June 31,2013 were *** diagnosis was made by at least two senior psychiatrists based on ICD-10 diagnostic *** were assessed by the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS) as well as subscales reflecting positive,negative and general psychiatric *** was assessed by the Insight and Treatment Attitudes Questionnaire(TTAQ).Treatment compliance was reflected with attitudes towards medication assessed by The Drug Attitude Inventory(DAI).Written informed consent was signed after *** socio-demographic data were collected from medical records,and PANSS,ITAQ and DAI were evaluated by trained psychiatrists both in a week after admission and a week before *** statistics were computed for socio-demographic and clinical *** t test or chi square test were applied for two group comparison. Methods Wild-type BALB/c and heterozygous RelnOrl mice at the age of 12-20-week were subjected to behavioral *** phenotypes were analyzed in open field test, locomotor activity test,Y-maze test,novel object recognition test,social interaction test,and prepulse inhibition *** examine if extracellular dopamine release in the nucleus accumbens (NAc) was affected by reelin mutation,in vivo microdialysis was carried out. Conclusions These results suggest that defective secretion of Reelin may lead to changes in emotional function and dopaminergic neurotransmission in adulthood.

Background Generalized Anxiety Disorder(GAD) is a lack of explicit object-based and the specific content with fear and nervousness,whose neurological disorder correlates are poorly known,there are a cortical dysregulation in patients with *** aim is to study the changes of cortical functional activity in different cerebral region on patients with GAD by eletroencephalogram(EEG) nonlinear analysis,and evaluate the relationship between serious degree of anxiety disorder and EEG nonlinear dynamics parameter. Methods The patients(n=64) with generalized anxiety disorder were selected,they were evaluated using the Structured clinical interview for Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association-Ⅳ-TR(DSM-Ⅳ-TR) axisⅠdisorders(SCID) to ascertain categorical *** patients were divided into two subgroups in accordance with Hamilton Rating Scale(HAMA) for Anxiety scores,14 < HAMA score < 21 in group A(n=31) and HAMA score≥29(n=33) in group *** patients must meet the score which was less than 53 Standard points of self-rating depression scale(SDS).At the same time,55 health people were selected as control group matched for age,*** closed eyes with a quiet state,EEG non-linear parameter Correlation Dimension(D2),was analyzed on the two *** relations between D2 value and HAMA scores were analysed using multiple linear stepwise regression. Two previous studies(Aggarwal et al.,2011 and Aggarwal 2012) used specific item responses on the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scales(PANSS) and found disproportionate severity of poor insight and judgment as rated by the score on item G12 of the PANSS in the Chinese as contrasted with American samples in the landmark CATIE trial,relative to the total PANSS score. The CATIE study included two multi-item measures that more reflect patient insight,the Insight and Treatment Attitudes Questionnaire ITAQ and the Drug Attitude Inventory(DAI).In this study we compare of insight measures from the PANSS,the ITAQ and the DAI using data from CATIE and newly collected data from the Guangzhou Psychiatric Hospital.
