Coil-rod-coil triblock molecules,incorporating flexible and rigid blocks,have a strong affinity to self-organize into various supramolecular *** molecules linkage together with p-phenyl or o-phenyl groups in the middle of the rod segments was investigated in bulk and aqueous *** experimental results indicate that different linking types of rod center groups dramatically influence self-assembly of the rod-coil molecular *** aqueous solution,molecules la and 2a(with a DP of 7) self-assemble into fibers,whereas molecules 1b and 2b(with a DP of 12 coil chains longer than molecule la-lb) exhibit a spherical micelles,depending on the PEO chain lengths,indicating that the linking method of the rod segment influence the size of the molecules *** the rod-coil molecular system,the inter-molecular driving force of the rod building block is one of the major parameters for constructing various supramolecular ***,the self-assembling behavior of molecules la,1b,and 2a,2b,can be explained by the change of driving forces(π-π stacking interactions) induced by the different linking method.
