One of the emerging hallmarks of cancer is aerobic glycolysis,or Warburg Effect,a phenomenon dated back to more than 80 years ago when Otto Warburg described his seminal discovery that cancer cells rely heavily on glycolysis for energy sources even with ambient oxygen *** from glucose metabolism,recent years have seen new evidence revealing the reprogramming of glutamine and lipid metabolism during tumor growth in vitro and in vivo.I will present our recent results demonstrating that oncogenic cMyc and HIF1 are critical for reprogramming of glutamine and lipid metabolism in cancer cells.
