Innate-like γδ T cells function in the early phase of immune responses. Although the transcriptionalregulation of messenger RNAs of the γδ T cells has been elucidated by ImmunologicalGenome Project(ImmGen), the microRNAs(miRNA) controlled post- transcriptionalregulations are barely understood. In the present study, two emergent γδ thymocytesubsets Vγ3+ and Vγ2+ γδ T cells were used as prototypes to systematically analyze themiRNA regulatory circuits of the thymic γδ T cell development. Differential expressedmiRNAs were identified with high throughput sequencing. Further bioinformatic analysisindicated that several miRNAs:mRNA regulatory pairs correlate with the selection, migrationand the production of signature cytokines of γδ T cells.
