Embryo retention in the fallopian tube is thought to lead to ectopic pregnancy, which is a significant cause of *** sulide (H2S) , a gaseotransmitter produced mainly by cystathionine-lyase (CSE) and cystathionine-synthase (CB S).Here we show that CBS and CSE are ubiquitously distributed in human fallopian tube epithelium and H2S signaling mediates the spontaneous contraction of human ***, an aberration in H2S signaling, either silenced or enhanced by pharmacologic or genetic methods, causes embryo retention and developmental delay in the mouse *** responses are reversed by admistration of GYY4137, a slow-releasing H2S donor or *** findings reveal a new regulatory mechanism for oviductal embryo transport, which could be potential new target for treating or preventing ectopic pregnancy.
