The gene expression profilings in different proglottids of *** were analysed using cDNA microarray.A total of 4,056 spots including full length and partial complementary DNAs representing novel,known,and control genes were *** showed that 55 genes in immature proglottids,134 genes in mature proglottids and 103 genes in gravid proglottids were up-regulated,and that 7 genes in immature proglottids,68 genes in mature proglottids and 78 genes in gravid proglottids were down-regulated compared with control(scolex-neck proglottids).Major function of these genes were about metabolism,transport,protein biosynthesis,transcription factors,apoptosis,cell differentiation,cell communication and nucleic acid binding *** changes of some genes,such as UBE2A, Cavβ,RAD51,DAZ,PKAc and 2 unknown genes were confirmed by Real-time quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction(RT-PCR).The complete microarray data set has been deposited in the NCBI Gene Expression Omnibus,GEO Series accession number *** provide a frame of gene expression changes in different development proglottids of ***,which may be helpful in understanding the pathogenesis of the tapeworm and studying its genes concerned with reproductive organs development.

The immunogenicity of Eimeria acervulina cSZ-2 and chicken interferon gamma was observed against Eimeria tenella *** chickens were randomly divided into six groups of 24 chicks each. Three groups of chickens were injected with DNA vaccines pVAX1-cSZ2,pVAX1-chIFN-γand pVAX1-cSZ2-chIFN-γtwo times(at days 14 and 21) at a dose of 100μg *** other groups were kept as control and injected with TE buffer(10 mM Tris-HCl pH 7.6 and 1 mM EDTA).One week following the booster dose,all chickens except the non-infected,non-vaccinated control group were inoculated orally with 5×104 sporulated oocysts of *** days post challenge,all chickens were weighted and slaughtered for cecal lesion scoring and oocyst *** results demonstrated that cSZ-2 in combination with interferon gamma can protect chickens from coccidiosis by significantly decreasing body weight loss and oocyst excretion reflecting partial protection against *** infection,and further studies are necessary to test for protection against other Eimeria species.
