Objective Growing evidences suggest that electroacupuncture(EA)can improve traumatic stress-induced immuno-depression,but the mechanism needs further *** the present study,the contribution of EA on the neuroimmune modulation,as well as the involvement of calreticulin(CRT)-c-Src pathway in the traumatic stress was *** Two age groups of rats(3 month and 18 month)were undergone traumatic *** was performed on bilateral acupoints 'zusanli'(ST36)and 'sanyinjiao'(SP6).Immune consequences,cortical CRT and c-Src expression were detected by Western blot,immunofluorescence and CCK8 respectively.A long-term neuron culture was also used herein,time-lapse effect of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)on CRT-c-Src pathway was ***(1) Traumatic stress resulted in a suppression in lymphocyte proliferation and NK cell activity with age dependent manner, EA stimulation could significantly improve this immuno-suppression.(2)The age-dependent immuno-suppression was due to different triggering in CRT-c-Src pathway in cortical neuron.(3)Central modulation of CRT infienced c-Src expression,in the meantime improved traumatic stress induced *** EA could agedependently improved traumatic stress induced immuno-suppression,the effect was proposed to correlated with CRTc -Src pathway in cortical neuron.

Hippocampus is one of the important sites for mammalian learning and memory,and Long-term potentiation (LTP)is a potential neurophysiological mechanism responsible for learning and *** several in vitro studies indicate that glutamate(Glu)and it's ionotropic receptors involved in the hippocampal LTP,however,little is known about the underlying neurophysiological mechanisms of hippocampal learning-dependent LTP in conscious and freely moving *** this work,glutamate receptor antagonists MK-801and CNQX were locally microinjected into the hippocampal CA1 region,then the extracellular concentration of Glu and amplitude of the field excitatory postsynaptic potential(fEPSP)-LTP in CA1 region were measured during the period of establishment and experimental extinction of the conditioned reflex in conscious rats.

Here we combined a parabiosis animal model with a photothrombosis stroke model and investigated the origin of microglia under ischemic *** C57BL/6 mice and transgenic mice expressing GFP in microglial precursors were used to set up a parabiotic and blood chimeric *** the blood chimerism of the parabiotic animals was established,we induced ischemic stroke by injecting rose bengal intravenously and exposing the cortex to green *** brains from coupled-mice were fixed with 4%paraformaldehyde after photothrombosis and sectioned into 30 urn slices on a vibrating *** slices were examined under an epifluorescence microscope or a confocal *** We have successfully induced photothrombosis in parabiotic *** observed GFP-positive microglia in ischemic area of the brain in wild type C57BL/6 *** Microglia can be recruited into the brain from blood-derived progenitors after ischemic stroke.

Objective The present study was undertaken to observe the effect of ceftriaxone(Cef) on the global brain ischemia and the changes of GLT-1 expression after preventive administration of Cef in rat with global brain ischemia. Methods Thionin staining was used to observe the morphological changes of pyramidal neurons in the hippocampal CAl *** and western blot analysis were used to observe the changes of GLT-1 expression. Results It was found that 8-min global brain ischemia resulted in severe delayed neuronal death(DND) on day 7 after the reperfiision,while preventive administration of Cef once daily for 5 consecutive days significantly prevented the DND in the CAl subfield induced by the global brain ***,the GLT-1 expression was significantly decreased on day 1 after global brain ischemia compared with sham group,while the preventive Cef administration could significantly increased the GLT-1 expression on day 1 after the global brain *** The preventive administration of Cef could up-regulate the expression of GLT-1 and protect neurons against global brain ischemia in hippocampal CAl subfield.

Objective The electro-receptive lateral line system appears in the early evolutionary history of *** of the primitive Chondrostei fish group,sturgeon,is well known to have the electroreceptors(the ampullay Lourenzeni organs) on the *** were thought to be sensitive to weak electric fields in aquatic environment and being used in behaviors of prey detecting,mating,and migrating;however,there was little experimental evidence could find directly to support the *** Here we report our results of behavioral and electrophysiological experiments that are specifically designed to investigate the function and characters of the electrosensory in ***,we record the electronic characters of the bio-electrical field of their living ***,we investigate the behavioral pattern of the Siberian Sturgeon,Acipenser baerii in response to the identified bio-electrical field(produced by embedding the living prey fish in the gel chamber).Third,we record the response properties of the electrosensory neurons in the hind brain from the dorsal octavolateralis nucleus(DON) of the White Sturgeon,Acipenser transmontanus with the simulating sinusoidal electric field according to the identified characters of the bio-electrical field produced by living prey. Results(1) The bio-electrical field of prey fish presented as direct current electric field of dipole type with negative potential on head and positive potential on tail and modulated into alternating electric field by respiration rhythm;(2) During the stimulation,DON units increased their firing rate and phase coupled the stimulation wave and showed the selectivity of dipolar *** These behavioral and electrophysiological results are first solid evidence to point out that the electrosense of Sturgeon does being used in predating(feeding) behavior.

Objective Empirical findings showed that individuals with schizotypal personality disorders(SPD) features did not presentthe significant reduction of P300 amplitude elicited by target stimulus compared to healthy *** study aimed to investigate whether emotional face would elicit the P300a and there would be reduction amplitudes for individuals with SPD as compared to healthy controls in the Chinese *** Preliminary ERP data including 33 participants,16 individuals with and 17 individuals without SPD *** procedure consisted of 1200 trials,2 sessions and 600 trails for each session.10 percent of all stimuli were emotional face pictures,10 percent were target stimuli and the other 80 percent were standard *** SOA in the experiment was set at 1000-1500 *** were presented at 500 *** Target stimuli elicited the P300b both in individuals with and without SPD *** individuals with SPD features also exhibited reduced P300b amplitudes for target stimuli as compared to those without SPD ***,there were no significant differences of P300 latency between the two *** face pictures were found to elicite PI and N2 component in both groups. Conclusion The current findings extend our realization about emotional process of schizophrenia spectrum disorders. Individuals with SPD presented similar features to schizophrenia patients that P300 amplitudes were reduced.

As a main subtype of glia in the central nervous system,astrocytes have diverse and comprehensive functions,from nutrient providing to synaptic transmission *** play protective roles in ischemia injury by taking up glutamate,releasing neurotrophic factors,and so ***,the function of gap junctions in this process is still *** cortical neurons were treated with 3-h oxygen-glucose deprivation(OGD) to induce cell *** found that astrocyte-conditioned medium(ACM) could reduce neuronal death from -95%to～30%,as indicated by MTT *** centrifugal filter devices,the molecular weight of protective factors released from astrocytes was speculated to be<3 *** protection of ACM was remarkably decreased when 50μmol/L gap junction and hemichannel blocker carbenoxolone(CBX) was applied to the cultured astrocytes before ACM collection. Furthermore,ACM pretreatment raised neuronal level of reductive glutathione(GSH) and decreased reactive oxygen species(ROS) content,while ACM pretreated with CBX could block GSH increase in *** results suggested that astrocytes enhanced neuronal tolerance against OGD injury by releasing protective factors dependent on hemichannels or gap junctions.
