＜正＞Liver X receptor is a member of the nuclear receptor superfamily of ligand-activated transcription factors, predominantly expressed in the cerebral *** have previously demonstrated that LXRβis essential for migration of later-born neurons during cerebral cortex *** radial glial cells serve as scaffolds for new-born neurons migration during cerebral cortex ***,the radial glial cells were transformationed into astrocytes around postnatal 14 ***,We found that the expression of LXRβmRNA was higher than LXRαin the cerebral cortex of mice,of which the expression of LXRβwas gradually increased from E18.5 to *** specific markers for radial glia cells,we further found that loss of LXRβinduced the decreased level of BLBP in the cerebral cortex from E18.5 to P7 and increased level of GFAP from P2 to P14 compared to the WT littermates at the same age. TGFβ1 and Smad4 are believed to be related to the transformation of radial glial cells into *** expression levels of TGFβ1 and Smad4 were increased significantly in the cerebral cortex of LXRβknockout mice compared to the WT littermates from the E18.5 to ***’s no difference in the expression levels of TGFβ1 and Smad4 between the LXRβknockout mice and WT littermates from the P10 to *** together,our findings suggest that loss of LXRβaccelerates the transformation of radial glial cells into astrocytes through high levels of TGFβ1 and Smad4 in the cerebral cortex.

Objective Music seems to have a beneficial effect on promoting mood state and cognitive performance of ***,whether rats exists analogous effect is still *** study was designed to investigate the effect of Mozart K448 on behavior in the developing *** Sprague-Dawley rats exposed to the Mozart K448 (group M),inversed Mozart K448(group M-inv) or silence(control group) from postnatal days 1 to 91,the potential of spatial learning and memory were assessed at postnatal days 28,56 and 91 by Morris water *** The group M and control group rats learned to find the escape platform more rapidly than the group M-inv rats(P<0.01),while no significant difference were found between the group M and control group rats(P>0.05).Compared to control group and group M-inv rats,the group M rats remained more time in the quadrant that contained platform formerly during the spatial probe trial *** Our primary results suggests that classical Mozart music may improve spatial memory in rats,resembling results found in *** inversed Mozart may inhibit spatial learning and ***,it is worth mentioning that more evidences are indispensable on physiology and molecular biology to elucidate the mechanism of Mozart effect.

The mammalian neocortex consists of six distinct cellular layers of local circuit neurons and projection *** studies have discovered a number of transcription factors that control specific axonal projections and layer formation in the *** of Satb2(special AT-rich sequence binding protein) in the upper layers (Ⅱ-Ⅲ) determines the callosal neuronal projection to the contralateral *** in situ hybridization and immuofluorescence,we found that the expressions of mRNA and protein for Satb2 are not identical in the cortex,which suggests that micro RNAs may be involved in regulation of the cortical *** this end,layer V neurons were sorted by FACS from the Fezf2-eGFP mice that express GFP in the subcortical projection neurons of layer V. MicroRNA expression profiling found that MicroRNA-218 was enriched in the sorted layer V *** of MicroRNA-218 had more than twofold increase in the layer V neurons compared to that of non-fluorescent control as determined by real time PCR assay of the micro *** vivo expression of MicroRNA-218 significantly reduced the mRNA for Onecutl,Medga1,and Sox5 but not *** vitro expression of the microRNA inhibited the luciferase activity of a fragment containing the binding site of the microRNA in the Satb2 3'UTR,suggesting that the translation of Satb2 may be reduced by *** hypothesize that micro RNAs may regulate the expression of the layer specific transcription factor and modulate the development of the cerebral cortex in vivo.

In contrast,SKF had no effects on AMPA receptor-mediated eEPSCs of these ***,application of SKF did not affect AMPA receptor-mediated miniature EPSCs of GCs,suggesting that activation ofσR1 did not change the release of glutamate from bipolar *** results suggest thatσR1 may be directly involved in the regulation of excitatory postsynaptic responses of GCs by preferentially modulating NMDA receptor-mediated eEPSCs of these retinal neurons.

The dentate gyrus is one of the regions where neurons are continuously born throughout *** adult, the mechanism of neurogenesis has attracted much attention over the past years;however,how the generation and differentiation of granule cells in the dentate gyrus are controlled,and what is the role of radial glial scaffold during the ontogenetic development are not very *** we have identified a sheath enveloping the whole dentate gyrus that controls the neurogenesis/cell migration and cell differentiation during postnatal dentate gyrus *** mapping indicates that the sheath consists of CR cells and the fimbrial bundle that derived from the cortical *** the sheath was genetically abolished,with the fimbrial bundles were severely disrupted,the extension direction of the supragranular bundles was turned directly to the upper blade of the developing dentate gyrus rather than to the hilus, and this led to the progenitor cells could not be relocated in the tertiary matrix properly,instead directly migrated more fast than that of the wild type to the region where future SGZ will be *** proliferation and differentiation were severely affected as well and finally a bigger gentate gyrus was observed than that of wild *** brief,we have identified a novel sheath enveloping the whole developing dentate gyrus controlling postnatal dentate *** studies are needed to elucidate the mechanism underlying the sheath controlling in the postnatal dentate formation.

Lesions to the fimbria fornix(FiFx)plus cingulate bundle(CB),the principal routes of communication of forebrain cholinergic regions,produce lasting impairment of spatial learning and memory in *** report that extensive neurogenesis takes place in the FiFx,CB and basalis magnocellularis(MBN)following FiFx plus CB *** revealed that nestin-expressing cells were present in all three areas following lesion;the majority of nestin-positive cells were also positive for 5-bromo-2-deoxy-uridine(BrdU)incorporation,a marker of DNA ***-positive proliferative cells were almost entirely absent from unlesioned *** cultured in vitro from lesioned FiFx displayed the characteristics of neural stem cells(NSCs)-proliferation, expression of embryonic markers,and multipotential differentiation into neurons,astrocytes and *** early stages after transection a small number of immature and migrating doublecortin(DCX)-immunopositive neurons were detected in lesioned FiFx where neuronal cell bodies are normally *** later stages post-lesion immature neurons developed intoβ-tubulinⅢ-positive mature *** labeling assay implied that the injury-induced neurogenesis in FiFx may be from local neurogenic astrocytes but not from dentate *** results demonstrate that insult to cholinergic tracts can stimulate NSC proliferation and neuronal regeneration not only in innervated regions but also in the projection pathways *** neurogenesis in cholinergic system-related areas provides an additional mechanism for repair of cholinergic innervation following damage.

Objective Malformations of cortical development(MCDs) represent a well-recognized cause of intractable *** morphogenetic proteins(BMPs) are members of the transforming growth factor(TGF) superfamily of *** aim of this study is to define the expression and the cellular distribution of BMP- 4 in focal cortical dysplasia(FCD) typeⅡb and tuberous sclerosis complex(TSC).Methods We have studied surgically resected tissues from 19 patients,12 FCDⅡb and 7 ***-appearing control cortex/white matter was obtained at autopsy from 5 patients without a history of seizures or other neurologic *** blot and immunocytochemistry were *** Western blot analysis showed that there was a statistically significant decrease of BMP-4 protein level both in MCD comparison with ***-staining results showed that moderately-strongly staining was widely observed in neurons and glial cells in *** dysplasia cortex of FCDⅡb,BMP-4 was widely expressed in normal-appearing neurons and reactive astrocytes,more intensely expressed in giant neurons(GNs),dysplastic neurons(DNs) and balloon cells(BCs).In cortical tubers,it showed similar features with FCDⅡ*** The reduced expression and specific cellular distribution of BMP-4 suggested a possible contribution of BMP-4 to the dysplasia cortex of these malformations of cortical development.

The causes of anxiety and depression in women with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) remain elusive. To identify steps linking androgen signaling to the regulation of affective symptoms in vivo,we compared behavioral responses in female rats continuously exposed to DHT from puberty(a model of DHT-induced PCOS) and in rats exposed to DHT for 1 *** both groups,locomotor activity decreased,indicating anxiety-like *** with DHT-induced PCOS have increases in adiposity and circulating leptin levels accompanied by leptin *** week of DHT exposure decreased androgen receptor(AR) expression in the hypothalamus and leptin synthesis and function in adipocytes;it also inhibited signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3) and attenuated leptin activity by increasing levels of soluble leptin receptor,a leptin-binding protein,in the *** may affect the androgen-induced anxiety-related behavior in female *** results highlight the central role of androgens in behavioral function in female rats and suggest that androgens directly regulate the AR by decreasing its hypothalamic *** also increase leptin synthesis in adipocytes,which drives central leptin signaling,and may regulate anxiety-related *** molecular factors are responsible for anxiety-related behavioral responses. Elucidating mechanisms by which androgens modulate female anxiety-like behavior may uncover useful approaches for treating women with PCOS who have symptoms of anxiety.
