Two subgenera, Pseudiberus and Platypetasus under Pseudiberus, are merged into one genus,namely Pseudiberus, based on the fact that the snails cannot be distinguished based on shell characters. On studying the type specimens housed in the Institute of Zoology, CAS, Platypetasus cixianensis is sunk as a synonym of Pseudiberus chentingensis. The possible causation for the differentiation of shells, between Cixian County population and Zhengding Population of the species,is discussed.
