Resistance to BPH is an important breeding objective in rice improvement. Bph15 is one of the major BPH resistance genes so far identified in several indica rice and wild relatives. The planthoppers (Homoptera: Delphacidae), brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens Stl, BPH)and whitebacked planthopper.(Sogatella furcifera, WBPH) are themost serious pests of rice, which pierce their stylets into rice phloem and suck the nutrient liquid, interfering with the translocation of photosynthates from source to sink, affecting plant growth and development. Previous researches showed that rice response to WBPH and BPH feeding varies and WBPH feeding affects plant height while BPH feeding affects root growth, and WBPHis smaller and its sucking rate is less than that of BPH but its effect on rice plant growth processes is the same or greater than that of BPH.

Perennial ryegrass is clearly one of the most important and widely used forage and turf grasses, exhibiting rapid establishment, good tillering ability and high acceptability to *** genetic relationship of 16 ryegrass cultivars, including 2 accessions annual cultivars and 14 entries perennial cultivars, from different breeding company were analysed using 61 RAPD markers. 61 RAPD primers generated 408 bands, of which 367 bands (89.95%) were polymorphic;It showed that the genetic polymorphism in these cultivars was very low, the coefficient among the cultivars fell between 50%~95%;Dendrograms obtained using this molecular markers are not in agreement with their separated morphologic character. High correlation was not obersved between the two annual ryegrass *** from the same company were not clustered in one *** breeding method of perennial ryegrass was discussed.
