The potential wide use of human engineered nanomaterials has led to a strong concern about their impacts on human health and the *** nanomaterials are produced cheaply in large amounts and more widely used around the world,they could profoundly influence the aquatic environment and aquatic species as a *** was found that human engineered nanomaterials can affect aquatic species at different levels. Unmodified raw carbon nanomaterials mainly affect the hatching process in exposed zebrafish embryos,by disturbing the zebrafish hatching enzyme gene *** the nanomaterials get into the fish body,they can distribute inside the embryonic cells and induce immune response in the exposed fish ***,extensive purification and functionalization processes can greatly improve the biocompatibility of nanomaterials.

In recent,several countries and organization performed regulation to manage and restrict the produce and use of PBDEs and developed the alternatives.6H-dibenz(C,E)(1,2) oxaphosphorin-6-oxide(DOPO-HQ) was selected as the alternatives,its ecological toxicity and environmental fate were investigated by tested according to OECD guidelines and calculated by USEPA EPI Suite 4.0 and compared with PBDEs *** results were showed as below.

Based on the methods and procedures of ambient water quality criteria established by USEPA and the theory of species sensitivity distributions(SSDs),the methods of deriving aquatic life water quality criteria(WQC)and toxicity data selecting in China were studied in this paper. The freshwater aquatic toxicity data of chlorpyrifos,one of the moderately toxic pesticides that used widely in China,was collected from the toxicity database of ECOTOX,literature,and laboratory *** toxicity data were screened,sorted,and *** calculation methods and the data selection methods were analyzed and *** the method S and procedure, the aquatic WQC for chlorpyrifos were derived and expressed as the criteria maximum concentration(CMC)and the criteria continuous concentration(CCC).The national criteria of CMC and CCC are 0.075μg/L and 0.036μg/L,*** Taihu lake criteria of CMC and CCC are 0.087μg/L and 0.034μg/L,respectively.

Personal care products such as detergents,biocides,musks and UV filters are widely used in many home and personal care products;and some of them are the high-production volume(HPV) chemicals in *** use,these chemicals reach the receiving environment directly via washing and disposals or indirectly through wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs).This paper will give an overview on the occurrence of these personal care products in wastewaters and sludges of WWTPs and their removal efficiencies,and the distribution in surface water and sediment in some large Chinese rivers such as the Pearl River,Yellow River and East *** dissipation of some typical personal care products in agricultural soils associated with wastewater reuse and biosolid application was also investigated and the results showed that some chemicals such as biocides were very persistent in the soil environment. Advanced treatments such as zonation and Ferrate oxidation were discussed in order to improve their removals in *** results from our investiagtions could have significant implication in the industry.

The process of quantifying the risk of contaminated sediments is critical for regulators who require robust guidelines and assessment frameworks to reliably manage and minimise ecological ***,inadequacies or the misapplication of assessment tools and frameworks for sediment quality assessment frequently impede decision-making processes,increasing the costs to both industries and *** presentation will describe the current state of the science and provide some examples of the use of both existing and new tools for sediment quality *** now well embedded in risk-based guideline frameworks,contaminant speciation and bioavailability is often overlooked in the management of risks due to inadequate knowledge of the available *** presentation will describe approaches for the assessment of bioavailability of metals or hydrophobic organic contaminants and the application of advanced SQG concepts that better reflect how risks are altered by changes in sediment properties.I will describe how bioavailability is considered within assessments that utilise multiple lines of evidence for assessment decisions,and put these concepts into practice with an example of case-specific guidelines relating to contamination from fish aquaculture.I will also briefly describe some of the new molecular-based approaches(ecogenomics) for assessing and examining contaminant impacts to benthic ecology.

Batch test had been carried out to determine the potential and the effectiveness of composite adsorbent in removal of Fe（Ⅱ） and Mn（Ⅱ） from aqueous *** was found that the composite adsorbent could effectively remove both Fe（Ⅱ） and Mn（Ⅱ） from water,the maximum adsorption capacities for Fe（Ⅱ） and Mn（Ⅱ） were 4.00mg/g and 3.50mg/g *** data obtained for the adsorption process fitted the Lagergren First-order *** Langmuir adsorption isotherm was found to fit the experimental data derived from Fe（Ⅱ）(R=0.9958) and Mn（Ⅱ）(R=0.9876)*** Fe（Ⅱ） and Mn（Ⅱ） removal increased with increase in solution *** process of adsorption of Fe（Ⅱ） and Mn（Ⅱ） from aqueous solutions by the composite adsorbent is an endothermic *** results indicate the composite adsorbent can be possibly applied in Fe（Ⅱ） and Mn（Ⅱ） removal from drinking water.

For the first time,Human cervical carcinoma（HeLa） cells were tested and evaluated for their voltammetric responses to five heavy metals:cadmium（Cd）,chromium（Cr）,lead（Pb）, zinc（Zn）,and copper（Cu）.Following a 30-h exposure to these heavy metals at selected concentrations,test cells were comparatively characterized by *** results indicated that all these heavy metals were cytotoxic to the cells at varied concentrations. Calculated 50%inhibitory concentration(IC) values revealed that the cytotoxicities of Cr and Cd were significantly more potent than the other three heavy metals（p<0.01）.In the meantime,the conventional MTT assay was used to evaluate the cytotoxicity of heavy *** comparison of cytotoxicity evaluations of the HeLa cells based on the electrochemical method and the MTT assay suggested the heavy metal sensitivity test based on the former method was rapider,more sensitive and *** biochemical mechanisms of the behavior for the cell suspension were proposed.

Toxic effects of Lindane（y-BHC） on Microcystis aeruginosa were studied in lab cultured *** contents of protein and MDA and the activities of SOD enzymes in alagl cells were determined under exposure of different concentrations of *** bioaccumulation of Lindane in algal cells and the influence of pH and DOM on the toxic effects were also *** results showed that the growth of *** can be inhibited by Lindane with 96 h EC 441.75μg/L,LOEC 119.75μg/L,NOEC 60.44μg/L,and MATC 85.07μg/*** the increase of the concentrations of Lindane and exposure time,the growth inhibition of *** significantly increased but the protein contents and the activities of SOD significantly ***,the MDA contents increased *** main mechanism of toxitic effects of Lindane on *** might be due to reactive oxygen radicals to cause oxidative damage of lipid and other biological *** has potential bioaccumulation in algal cells with the value of BCF ***,the toxicity of Lindane on *** was influenced by environmental factors such as pH and DOM in the cultured solution,the toxic effects decrease with increasing of pH and the concentrations of humic acid.
