The effect of compound Glossy Privet Fruit powder (CGPF) on growth performance of bred sows and nursery-age pig was tested. Twenty pregnancy Landrace pigs were randomly divided into control and test groups, balanced for similar parity and mating date, reproductive performance and body condition. The control group was fed on basal die;the test group was fed on basal diet+30g CGPF for 70 days before 30 days of piglet birth and 40 days after birth. The result showed: Compared with control groups, the litter size, survival rate, newborn weight and weaning weight of test groups were increased. The average weight of newborn weight was increased by 24.04% (p<0.01), the average 40-day-weaning weight was increased by 18.07%(p<0.01), the average daily gain was increased by 17.32% (p<0.01), but the still birth rate and diarrhoeal morbidity rate were significant decreased (p<0.05). It was concluded that the CGPF additives is improved the disease resistance and growth performance of bred sows and nursery-age pig.
