The structure, identification method and identification basis of risk factor in risk evaluation for industrial parks along the Yangtze River are advanced. Structural fragments are one of the important reasons to cause a domino effect in an industrial plant. The study of the vessel wall response law under different energy loading is conducive to analysis structural fragment formation mechanism and the cause of the industrial accident. This study selects the LS-DYNA to simulate the cylindrical vessel wall response law under different energy load. The results show that the minimum value of explosion load could be determined by the vessel wall response result and the kinetic energy of structural fragment forming process can be traced by means of energy conservation.

A poorly implemented PSM program can result in increased incidents that threaten the well-being of employees, companies and the communities where they operate. Du Pont defines operational discipline as "the deeply rooted dedication and commitment by every member of an organization to carry out each task, the right way, each time." A high level of Operational Discipline(OD) is integral part of cultivating a strong PSM culture and ensuring optimum performance and overall operational excellence. The leakage and dispersion of hazardous substance in petroleum and petrochemical companies often lead to the significant fire or explosion accidents. This paper gave a simple general review over the currently used methods of numerical simulations for gas dispersion including the basic principle, merits and demerits, and the range of engineering applicability. In addition, by means of the widely used softwares, such as DNV-SAFETI, ALOHA, FLUENT, this paper made a result contrastive analysis about the numerical simulation, it pointed out that the 3D simulations always have the higher accuracy on the results. However, due to the simply calculation, short time-costing and easy understood on the consequences, the simplistic empirical simulations were generally accepted and had a better engineering applicability. Last of all, the paper also put forward some recommendations for this field.

In this paper, human factor and the actual mitigation function of emergency system are explored to establish the proposed SIL concept, and the numeric case study shows this new SIL conception provides an efficient approach to characterize the effectiveness of mitigation, and thus more practicable than the traditional E/E/PE integrate based SIL concept.

Many processes and operations in a chemical plant involve handling and processing of liquids and powders, most of which could, under certain conditions, be flammable. Flammable gas, vapor, and dust cloud atmospheres can be ignited if a sufficiently energetic ignition source is present. It is noteworthy that most flammable gas/vapor atmospheres and some dust clouds can be ignited by very small energy ignition sources. One potential ignition source that, in many cases, could be an inherent part of the process/operation is an electrostatic discharge. Electrostatic discharges result from the generation and accumulation of electrostatic charges. Electrostatic charge generation most commonly occurs whenever two materials, solids and/or liquids, make and then break contact with each other. The accumulation of the electrostatic charge can result in electrostatic discharges. This suggests that there are many occasions during the handling, processing, and packaging of flammable liquids and powders in a chemical plant when flash fire and explosion hazards exist.
