<正>【Introduction】Carbon steels are susceptible to corrosion in the acidic environments, which has caused huge economic losses and serious environmental hazards. In this work, an imidazolium-based ionic liquid, i.e., 1-hexadecyl-3-methylimid azolium Bromide(HMIBr), was investigated as a corrosion inhibitor candidate for carbon steel in 1 M HCl medium.
